There is something in the operations.txt file that I didn't expect. These errors don't kill the program, so you can keep working.

I'm not seeing an operations.txt file in my WitP Tracker directory... could it be that it hasn't been generated?

The only text file I have is trackerdb.log.

BillBrown -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/8/2019 4:25:53 PM)

The operations.txt file will be in the save directory of your game.

Trugrit -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/9/2019 2:04:10 PM)

SADrone,

If you are running the Beta you know about this, right?

[image]local://upfiles/49386/89EAE1376BE94995A5B46B550DC48E30.jpg[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/20/2019 3:10:05 PM)

Your advice when having reading problems is to replace the DLL from the
Beta2 directory and I've done that and it didn't solve the problem.
Now what?

BillBrown -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/20/2019 3:17:09 PM)

That error means you are using a 64-bit Java instead of a 32-bit Java. The DLL associated with Tracker is a 32-bit DLL.

btd64 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/20/2019 3:17:51 PM)

Larry, Do you have the latest Java version, namely a 32bit version?....GP

larryfulkerson -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/22/2019 7:54:12 PM)

I'm running WIN10 64-bit so I downloaded the 64-bit version.
You're implying that I need the 32-bit version? What in the
world would I do with it?

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/22/2019 8:34:35 PM)

I'm running 64-bit Windows 10 and 32-bit JRE. It works.

BillBrown -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/22/2019 9:57:54 PM)

I have both 32 and 64 bit Java installed with no problem. I only use the 32 bit for Tracker.

larryfulkerson -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/23/2019 5:26:41 PM)

Oh. Okay, I'll try it.

btd64 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/23/2019 8:03:47 PM)

Larry, follow the tracker instructions to set it up....GP

larryfulkerson -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/24/2019 8:39:03 PM)

What in the world do I do to fix this error?

[image]local://upfiles/16287/F13C1DD6630643F7BF18ACD33C180BA0.jpg[/image]

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/24/2019 8:42:48 PM)

Database is corrupted. Delete all of the trackerdb files and start over.

RangerJoe -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (2/28/2019 1:00:36 PM)

I got it working, now I am finally going to try Japan [X(] again and try to use Tracker, especially for the engine builds and research.

Too bad that there is not a pop-up to see what save that you want to use, just type it in. It could also verify the save location and side. Then that would start the program. Just a little more easier than having to remember to rewrite the properties each time. Maybe if I remember some of my programming, I will try something like that. But I don't know where to put the punch cards into the computer . . . [8|]

An old-timer ex-programmer told me that in the beginning they didn't even have ones and zeros. They had to use the letter "i" and for zero they had to use the letter "o". And part of his job was to keep the coal bucket full of anthracite to feed the boiler that drove the computer. Evidently he worked on one of the early models of the IBM 670 the one that doesn't have a keyboard.....you have to wire it up by hand for each separate program you want to run. It's got 1K of RAM. And there's an actual lever you pull to start it running. I'll see if I can't google a picture of it.

kukudas -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/5/2019 3:11:50 PM)

I got this message when I run tracker.
Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform
How can I solve this problem? plz help..

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/5/2019 4:04:40 PM)

Look at Post 5704, above.

kukudas -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/5/2019 4:15:44 PM)

You mean I need java 32 bit. Right?
But I can't find java 32 bit. Looks like Oracle has stopped distributing java 32 bit. Do you know where can I get java 32 bit?

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/5/2019 4:29:35 PM)

Did you look here? https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

kukudas -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/6/2019 1:28:56 AM)

I downloaded both offline 64 bit and normal offline java for windows from your link. Unfortunately, it still gives me a same message.
In my computer I have 2 Java. One in C-Program Files and the other is in C-Program Files(x86). Looks like later one is java 32 bit so I deleted the first one but it says Error: could not open `C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_201\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg' . Last night I've started grand campaign, but I found it's very hard to play it without tracker. I really want to play the grand campaign. help me....

MY COMPUTER
WIN 10 64 BIT

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/6/2019 1:33:48 AM)

On Windows 10, my 32-bit Java is in C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath\java.exe
If you put that full path in the witptracker.bat file, it will be forced to pick up the 32-bit version.

You can find out where your Java is from the command prompt entering "where java".

kukudas -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/6/2019 1:46:19 AM)

My java is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\java.exe . But I can't sure it's 32-bit.
In addition how can I change bat file's full path? When I right click the bat file it doesn't show any other option like notepad but just run.

Full message when I run tracker.

That says you are using 64 bit Java.

When you install the 32 bit Java, put it in a separate folder somewhere outside of either
of the two program folders.

kukudas -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/6/2019 1:57:15 AM)

Same question again....
In floydg's link(https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) I can't find 32 bit java... Where can I get that thing?

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/6/2019 2:05:28 AM)

In the witptracker.bat file, change the "java" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\java.exe" (keep the quotes). That should force it to run the 32-bit (x86) version.

The problem is I don't know how to change the "java" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\java.exe" .

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/6/2019 11:02:01 PM)

Try this:
https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001675.htm

RangerJoe -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/6/2019 11:19:36 PM)

Right click on the file, then select "edit". Where something like:

java -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"
pause

is written, then change it to:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\java.exe" -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar
pause

At least, I just copied what I have in the file then I just changed the "java" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\java.exe" and everything else is the same. You are simply telling the computer to look in the 32 bit section of programs and not the 64 bit section, if I understand things correctly.

Thank you! Finally managed to run the tracker by deleting 64-bit java. Although tracker gives me another problem.

Looks like it is memory issue. I've read your solution but I don't sure I did it right.

"If you can't for some reason (e.g., 64-bit system), try one of these methods:
Use the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cmd.exe command to start the witptracker.bat file. You can make a short-cut for this by making a copy of the witptracker.bat file and change the extension to something unused (e.g., witptracker.witp) and then associate the file (using the "Open With..." dialog) to open using SysWOW64\cmd.exe.
Failing that, contact us for any other methods."

Open cmd screen and typing renamed tracker gives me this message.

HELP!!!!

floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (3/7/2019 10:30:51 AM)

Edit the witptracker.bat file and change the numbers after Xms and Xmx by 128 until it works. Or just add nomap at the end:

Either:
java -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar" nomap

or
java -Xms512m -Xmx640m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"
