Please keep all RC3 bug reports / discussion in this forum. Thanks.

rich12545 -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/13/2009 6:14:07 PM)

Hi Shaun, I didn't see anything about that error I sent you.  Did you ever figure it out?

dickpierce -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/13/2009 6:18:52 PM)

Why is the player listed as having played 2 seasons and having a later debut date?

rich12545 -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/13/2009 6:29:25 PM)

Looks like it hasn't been fixed.  I just put a player up for trade, clicked to shop with all teams, got a ctd.

I think your issue is latent with your association.

1. Open your assn, go to "Options and Utilities" from the assn home screen.

2. Click the "Compact Association Database" button. That will attempt to repair your database

3. Exit PS, come back in and try the trade again.

dickpierce -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/13/2009 6:45:05 PM)

After a season ends, I get a run time error 3021 during the updating of the almanach.  It then kicks me out of the game.

Problem solved. Thanks very much.

Yep, new bug, introduced by the new stat browse feature. Sorry about that.

Just fixed it.

Download this zip and extract the puresim2k7.exe over the current version you have.

dickpierce -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/13/2009 7:30:29 PM)

The rebuild button is back! But I still have the same issue with some of the player cards. See above pic.

SFMac -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 2:06:56 AM)

Puresimmer;
Any chance you will put a clean copy of RC3 on site?
Mac

rjolley -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 2:36:41 AM)

Just tried the new feature and it built the first page just fine. However, when I click on anything, nothing happens.

If you need me to try anything, let me know.

rjolley -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 4:18:42 AM)

Another thing I just noticed.

Looking through the stats, 51 pitchers have 10+ wild pitches. 23 have 20+. This is through the first month of the season. The Association is using real players from 1946 and started in 1901.

Looking through the history of the association, a pitcher in '35 had 64 in 3 innings of work.

I wonder if the wild pitches stat isn't getting reset correctly after the season in later releases. Looking at other pitchers, the total is larger each year. For the pitcher I mentioned, these are his wild pitch totals:

Earl Caldwell
1932   52
1933   62
1934   64
1935   64
1936   67
1939   67
1941   67

The years that he wasn't listed? He wasn't in the majors.

I have no clue on this one :)

What version of Internet Explorer do you have installed?

Shaun,

I believe the means replacing the current link to download v1.83 with a link to download v1.84 RC3 instead. Granted, you likely only do that once the release version is complete/official, but I'm sure that's what he means.

It doesn't appear the WP stat is getting set. Will look into it.

CrashDavis -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 8:20:42 PM)

RJ,
After checking and verifying, the WP stat does get reset at seasons end in the Players table. So, either
a) the career total WP stat is being inadvertantly copied over to the Players table sometime after the season begins (which would hold the current season stats) or
b) the source being viewed is not coming from the Players table.

To help track this down can you clarify for me, when you say you are
quote:

Looking through the history of the association
, from where are you looking at the stat? Almanac? Statistics Page? Both? Neither of those but from somewhere else?

rjolley -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 9:48:41 PM)

I went to Statistics & Reports, switched to All Past Seasons, selected Wild Pitches, and the numbers there are off.

On a whim, I clicked on Career Totals. Earl Caldwell has 67 wild pitches for his career, but according to the All Past Seasons page, he had 67 in 3 different seasons. If I select a season in which he supposedly had 67 wild pitches, he's listed as having 67.

Wrathchild -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 9:55:19 PM)

My Wild Pitch leader had 14 Wild Pitches in 1904, 1905 and 1906. He is listed with 14 in each season, but it seems a little odd to me that he would have 14 3 seasons in a row. Is that anything to be concerned about? And if you look at all past seasons the year is prefaced with a single quote, as if it was going to leave off the century. That looks a bit odd.

HotCornerDave -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 10:03:37 PM)

What happened to the tie break feature??? [:(] Real player 1998, Anaheim and Texas tied for the lead in the AL West, but Texas automatically got the playoff bid. I can only assume the game used the old calculation of Runs Scored to determine the division winner, because Anaheim won the head-to-head season series 7-5, and Anaheim was 1 game better in division play.

HotCornerDave -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 10:22:37 PM)

Also, I'm still having the same playoff issue as documented in this thread: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2228334, item #2. For what it's worth, I rebuilt my PC over the weekend, so I have a fresh install of PureSim loaded, beginning with RC3. So, there shouldn't be anything from past builds doing screwy things to my associations. Maybe I should give up on 1998 and try a different season.

Edit: I will continue to work this with Steve in the other thread. I just came upon some new information. So, just consider this an fyi.

SFMac -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/14/2009 11:57:49 PM)

Shaun;
What I meant was that your initial post above states to download RC3 and then download a fix to RC3. Will you place a copy of RC3 that contains the corrected file on site? I'm just trying to avoid downloading too many files if I can. Basically lazy. [:D]
Mac

dneely -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/15/2009 7:12:36 PM)

Shaun:

I tried to DL the updated "Hot Fix" for the release candidate 3 today but got an error message of "Run Time error 53 - File not found: randomad.dll". Does this mean the file is no longer available?? The release candidate installed without any issues.

Thanks

I simmed a 1977 season, and the tie breaker worked. Baltimore and Boston tied for the AL East and played a 1 game tie breaker. So, I have no idea what is going on...

Nukester -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/15/2009 8:48:29 PM)

We noticed the issue with the WP's in the XIBL awhile back. Below is what I observed and posted in their forum

quote:

After looking at the leaders in WP for past seasons, it appears to me that its just some kind of display issue. Looking at Ronald Packard, we have:

- 26 in the first two weeks of this season
- 27 in 2018 (97.2 IP)
- 22 in 2017 (213.2 IP)
- 16 in 2016 (163.1 IP)
- 12 in 2015 (237 IP)
- 7 in 2014 (98 IP)
- 3 in 2013 (142 IP)

Now, if you look at career totals from the dropdown list, it shows Packard with 26 career WP's. Thats less than it said he had in just the 2018 season alone.

What it looks like to me is that the game is displaying the career totals (or something very close) for the player, after the first game of the season, then adding the few he might actually have for the current season as the games progress.

I bet for Packard, he had 3 in 2013, then in 2014 the game displayed him as having 3 after the first game but he really had 4 for the season (totaling 7 for career), then in 2015 it showed 7 after the first game, he really had 5 more for the season (totaling 12 for career), etc......

Keep an eye on Packard, but I bet at the end of this season it will show him with 30-31 WP (the 26 it gave him after the first game + the 4 or 5 he is actually going to throw this season)

Wrathchild -> RE: Release Candidate 3 (9/15/2009 9:44:56 PM)

Regarding the new stats browser, are the hyperlinks to player names supposed to be active? Mine aren't.

I also can't get to the American League portion of the report. The only thing I can do is scroll up and down on the National League page.
