GOOD GADS MAN! That sounds like it was recorded off an old tube TV with a cassette recorder! [:D]

"Mars, the Bringer of War", from Holst's "The Planets".

Big B -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 2:05:11 AM)

I can safely say, after an extended field test, any Beatles music is always good, [:D] (it just works for some of us older guys)[:)]

Oh Fortuna when the naval battles start.

Eternal Father, Strong to Save brings a lump to the throat - and was adopted by the Royal Navy and the US Navy..QUALITY!

TommyG -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 6:58:22 AM)

Tommy Dorsey, Glen Miller, Bunny Berrigan and the Andrew Sisters. Boogy Woogy Bugle boy from Company B goes well with all ground attacks. For air battles, I go with Gene Kruppa and Drum Boogie

lolz -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 7:43:53 AM)

none :)

Grotius -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 7:53:14 AM)

Japanese flute (shakuhachi) music, at least when I'm playing Japan. I bought a few CDs of it after enjoying the flute music in WITP. I have Kohachiro Miyata, "Japan - Shakuhachi"; Riley Lee & Gabriel Lee, "Satori"; Richard Warner's "Quiet Heart - Spirit Wind"; Stan Richardson's "Shakuhachi Meditation Music"; and a couple others. Soothing stuff, and it puts me in the mood to play the game.

patrickl -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 10:08:44 AM)

Jerry Goldsmith's Tora Tora Tora movie songs : Pre-flight countdown, main theme, On the way, The Final Message.[:D]

I like the idea of having these music selections indicated here in the thread. How to I include them into the game so as to replace the original tracks (old and computer slow mind)?

Somebody will tell you how to do it in the game, but with an old & slow computer, my suggestion is to use a music player (iPod or other MP3 player).

patrickl -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 10:26:32 AM)

Difficult to play your songs in the game. I switch off the sound pref in the game and run win media player.

captskillet -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 10:41:04 AM)

Im with you B........you can add the Doors (Riders on the Storm or The End) and there's always a little Led for the head!!!

It is I that am old and slow when it comes to computers.

rockmedic109 -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 3:40:18 PM)

My wife and I are adopting a 3.5 yr old girl so the music for AE in my future is likely to be something sung by a purple dinosaur named Barney.....

Great choice...

John 3rd -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 4:32:32 PM)

The new Battlestar Galactica series music is excellent to use for background.  The Battle of New Caprica (where Pegasus is destroyed) is over 8 minutes long and really fires me up as a I watch a fight!

EDIT: WOW--my 4,000th Post...

The Moody Blues works too.

If you have XM or Sirius the 40's channel can't be beat for the historical feel.

Either way, Buck! If your computer is fast enough then just use Windows Media Player but still forget about having the game play the music - an unnecessary complication.

Canoerebel -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 6:16:35 PM)

Egads, a variation of the dreaded "what music are you listening to" thread.

John 3rd -> RE: Recommended music played while AE runs (1/21/2010 7:06:00 PM)

With my children, I have to admit right now I have "Bob the Builoder" in the background...

AC/DC Live at Donnington, Thunderstruck starts the meyhem.[8D]

Think I will give it a try.
