juliet7bravo -> Possible Irau bug (7/5/2002 7:20:20 AM)

Surface combat and bombardment TF's staging out of Irau to attack Lunga will not go directly there. It usually takes my ships 3 days to do so. They travel one days steaming about 6 hexes south of Irau, refuel/stage for a day, then they finally make the attack. This makes it almost impossible to interdict shipping at Lunga, and is extremely expensive in fuel/sea time.

Why they do this I don't know, as they can make the trip and return in a single turn from Irau.

Been happening to me quite alot. Very weird.

You'll probably see this bug in other locations as well. I think that missions that are supposed to arrive at night and then retire will stage to a hex equal to its maximum speed distance away from its destination, even if they start at a distance less than its maximum speed distance.

Erik Rutins -> Response... (7/5/2002 11:01:12 PM)

Yep, I think Slaughtermeyer called it right on this one. For the run in-run out missions, they'll move out to max distance first. However, for just having them on Surface Combat / Patrol / React, sitting in Irau should work with a fast bunch of ships and an aggressive commander.

Regards,

- Erik
