No luck on Vista 64 with an ATI card...understand its a beta so no worries, but hope you guys can get it running as it was what prompted my purchase.

BigJ62 -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/19/2010 10:47:11 PM)

its a minor bug and has nothing to do with hardware.

jigsaw -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/19/2010 11:20:55 PM)

If hardware isnt a factor then those that cant get it running must be doing something different to those that can I take it...is there some sort of work around?

Lesbaker -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/20/2010 12:00:32 AM)

Way to Go Guys !![&o]

Works perfectly running 2560 x 1600 on vista 64 with an Nvidia Geforce GTX280 card on a 30" dell monitor, you can get the whole of india and most of china on one screen, Fantastic well worth waiting for

It works fine with my Vista 64 / ATI card.

So in the Modding forum there is discussion of undocumented changes.

Is there any way of having these 'documented' instead? The split torpedo tubes was discussed but there was mention of a number of other things, like CAG, Stevedore, etc.

You guys have done a great job for a long, long time. It would be a shame to fall flat now with 'undocumented' features. Is it just a question of hunting through the database editor?

You're right - these "undocumented features" will be removed from the patch before release.

jigsaw -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/20/2010 2:33:23 AM)

Interesting...dual monitors at all? Anyways apparently its not a hardware issue, though as others have it running on the res Im after Im guessing that leaves user error. No idea where though but will wait for the next release and give it another shot [:)]

If you can't get it to work on your box - then keep using normal game resolution and wait for the official patch.

How do I set resolution? Sorry for asking a dumb question that probably has an obvious answer, but I am totally lost (-px, py???). I will be very grateful if someone can explain the procdures to an ignorant newbie.

You're right - these "undocumented features" will be removed from the patch before release.

And why not leave them and document them in the Patch readme file?

jwilkerson -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/20/2010 4:41:34 AM)

We will only remove the "undocumented features" we can find - don't want a six month delay just to remove undocumented features! [:)]

Kung Sune -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/20/2010 4:53:17 AM)

Sorry for asking again how to set reolution. Copy of target after right-clicking in the start menu:

\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\autorun.exe"

How do I proceed from here? I see no additional text "-wd –altFont –cpu2 –multiaudio –dd_sw" as described in the readme.

TO: Admin

The patches are REALLY hard to find.  Any chance of fixing this in the near future?

No real interest in playing at the normal res on a 30" screen, as I said above though I will wait for the next patch and give it another shot.

Not to be too funny, but are you sure you bought the right game for you ? [;)]

Bought the origional on release day and enjoyed it in thoery, but the initial buggy state of the game ended up with it being shelved. So yeh, no problem with the game play or the game itself (have kinda bought it twice now)...1024x768 on a 30" screen makes my eyes bleed though [;)]

There is no such thing as an "undocumented feature".
These are called "Easter Eggs".[:D]

Hello,

public beta files have been in the same places since ages ago.
I wonder why those really old stuff / old questions come up every here and then ? [&:]

Unfortunately it seems I can't get the hi-res work on my laptop. Max is 1280x800, with an Intel chip. Too bad :(

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1280 –py0800

Don't be to upset Jigsaw, running at 2560x1600 on a 30" Dell will make the text very small, task force and ground icons tiny, your eyesight better be able to keep up. I'm finding that I don't like it as much as I thought I would at that high a resolution. Although seeing that much real estate is nice.

BigJ62 -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/20/2010 7:48:22 PM)

The map icons can be mod-ed, they are just bmps

Halsey -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/20/2010 8:30:51 PM)

I was going to experiment on this.

Should I just try stretching the graphics to a uniform 125 or 150%?

Combat animations are fine, it's the display menu's that need resized.

Ah was worried about that actually, thats a real pity! Is there any way to increase the font size I wonder...maybe the matrix guys could add some support for a larger set of fonts down the track?

Anyway thanks for the update hunchback, looks like I may just have to live with it [:)]

I have ancient, 6-YO hardware--nothing like a 30"--but I also tried out the wide screen options. I had exactly the same reaction. Map was glorious, much easier to visualize routes, relative distances between islands, etc., but working with icons and info screens was sheer work. Not fun. I went back to default. Maybe when I get a modern monitor I'll try a mid-point compromise, but for now these middle-aged eyes couldn't take it.

Halsey -> RE: v1.101b Public Beta Now Available! (2/20/2010 8:35:17 PM)

There is an alt-font code also.
Haven't tried yet in widescreen.

Any feedback on this from anyone?
