Password set, files for Hades are here.

Did my pword. Lets do this.

Kaakao -> (7/18/2002 4:45:19 AM)

Waiting for the files...

Hades -> (7/18/2002 10:50:16 AM)

oopsies

Kaakao -> (7/19/2002 12:25:19 AM)

And the action has began.

XXX corps cleared the first roadblock with ease, zero losses on armor and only few infantry dead. One Mg nest still blocks our way but it should be taken care of within the next turn. This feels allmost to easy :)

Airborne has more trouble. It seems that every bridge and city are defended by lots of infantry, mg's or bunkers. This is going to be hard. There are snipers everywhere and even in areas I thought were under my control. Paratroopers are moving to bridges but I'm not sure if they are able to take them without suffering heavy losses or waiting for the XXX corps to arrive :(

Hades -> (7/19/2002 1:52:32 AM)

Great map M4! I really like the idea with the tank repair yard.

I killed a Staghound at the Roadblock. German and British airborne tangeled in Arnemn. The Brits lose a Bren MG squad and a Vickers jeep.

M4Jess -> (7/19/2002 4:25:02 AM)

XXX corps cleared the rest of the roadblock but some troops may have escaped so the movement is a bit slow. 2 minefield detected by Sherman crabs.

Airborne has maybe secured one bridge, the bad side is, it doesn't lead to any other v-hex. Near Eindhoven two Pz-IV's were disabled when Hades tried to overrun the landing area but failed. Things are going ok everywhere except in Arnheim which is under attack by atleat one platoon of ss. During combat they were driven one houserow back. At the end of the turn more and more gliders and planes dropped men and equipment to help taking out the bridges. One group of gliders located an artypark, unfortunately it was defended by heavy aa-fire and one glider got destroyed. Planes also spotted few tanks, infantry and lots of AA, AT and bunkers.

Hades -> (7/19/2002 5:55:41 AM)

Not much happened. I fired at a 37mm trying to set up, near(uhm i forgot. ill start writing things down.) My men near Grave are in for some trouble. Just mainly moving around setting up ambushes.

M4Jess -> (7/19/2002 6:02:20 AM)

Airborne now has a good grip in Eindhoven when 2 more fj squads were driven away. Airborne now controls 2 v-hex's :) Things are also looking good in Grave where more and more paratroopers have landed, though trucks have been sighted near Grave and atleast 2 marders. At Arnheim there's no sight of germans, though a sniper killed 2 men from squad just outside of Arnheim. Troops are moving towards Nijmegen and have spotted atleast 2 rifle squads and one mg. Groosberk (or whatever it is) is soon under my control as paratroopers have surrounded it.

XXX corps cleared hopefully the rest of the roadblock and is now moving towards Eindhoven, which should be under my control when tanks arrive. There may be another roadblock still between XXX corps and Eindhoven as planes have spotted 88mm AA's and now tanks found 50mm atg which took some beating but didn't die :(

Hades -> (7/19/2002 9:09:26 PM)

Still no big fight, with the exception of Eindhevon. I caught some AB trying to flank me so I fired so 75mm shells at them. 120mm mortars fired on the 82nd near Grave, hopefully buying some time.
Have Panzerfaust 30s always had a range of 1?

Kaakao -> (7/20/2002 4:07:19 AM)

Airborne now controls Groosbeek. Just besides Groosbeek in Nijmegen Airborne has infiltrated the town. One Pz-IV, specs ops squad and a rifle squad won't be reporting in anymore :) Things are a bit quiet in Arnheim where a Pz-IIIn was covered in smoke by a vanishing ss squad, that was nice :) More and more snipers fell everywhere. Things are heating up in Grave where few germans were killed or runned away. Trucks and mg's were also spotted in Grave. 82nd is having a hard time when 81mm's, 105mm's and 120mm's are dropping on their landing site, just quess how easy it's moving them around :mad: In Eindhoven one fj squad is destroyed and other one run away infront of mighty Thompson smg's :) A recon squad followed a halftrack into the woods and made sure it stayed there :) Also, a Jeep found 15cm shell from SIG . I have lost allmost every jeep I have :(

XXX corps are once again on the move and heading towards Eindhoven. Few rifle squads and snipers were cleared away when a Staghound found eightyeight, crew decided to bail and didn't spotted the location of the gun before smoke grenades were thrown. There really is a roadblock between the corps and Eindhoven. 2 50mm atg's were cleared by infantry and shermans. One AT-bunker refused to collaps allthough it took several hits from allkind of guns. One halftrack also discovered the firepower of eightyeight :( Depending how big this roadblock is, it should be cleared in two or three turns with help of infantry once it arrives.

Hades -> (7/20/2002 10:01:34 PM)

My FJs are still holding on to Eindhevon, and are thanksful for the relief that just showed up. The Allied airborne is very diffucult to kill.
In Grave moe men showed up and a Maurder chased a AB squad away from the brigde. There seems to be some pack 75mms near by. I will hunt them down next turn.
Arnhem is begining to be squeezed by several armored colums. Some tough fighting ahead.

M4Jess -> (7/22/2002 9:35:06 PM)

NOT FOR ALLIED EYES!!:mad: :mad:

M4Jess -> (7/22/2002 9:36:39 PM)

NOT FOR GERMAN EYES!!:mad: :mad:

Kaakao -> (7/25/2002 6:05:46 AM)

Sorry for the delay, the battle continues...

XXX corps blew that at bunker, cleared one mg squad, 20mm flak and two 88's which were supressed from arty and couldn't counter the shermans and other afv's. As Shermans moved closer to Eindhoven one of the got vaporised from a 150mm shell, no hull left on the field :(

Airborne contorls the west of Eindhoven, one mg and one fj squad gone. More troops were also spotted but couldn't be attacked. In Grave one squad tried the bazooka against Marder but despite Marders <20mm armor, the round bounced off. More and more paratroopers are now in town and the bloody streetfight is about to start. Also in Njimegen airborne moves closer and closer to its targets, some dead troops on both sides. Things really don't look nice in Arnhem, the bridge is full of german tanks and I my at guns are about the same as dead. More help arrives every turn but I'm not sure if it's enough
:(

Hades -> (7/26/2002 12:26:18 PM)

Holding my own.

Hades -> (7/26/2002 12:38:13 PM)

Hades -> (7/27/2002 2:04:58 PM)

On its way.

Kaakao -> (7/28/2002 2:08:27 AM)

Now this is a bloodbath.

Airborne cleared hopefully rest of Eindhoven with xxx corps and captured the hex in town and the hex just north from Eindhoven :) No losses. At Grave troops followed a german squad in to the woods only to find another squad :( Airborne also tried bazookas against marder and jpz but with no luck. One 10.5cm was destroyed also. At Njimigen things are not looking nice. The town is filled with tanks, halftracks and ss :( Got one squad and one sp-gun here, crewmen did nice job cutting the visibility with smoke before they were cut down :) Stugs and infantry are also heading towards Groosbek, one squad should be taken care of, bazookas didn't hit stugs this time.

And then there's Arnhem :( Tanks, halftracks and ss moving closer every turn and it's not a pretty sight :( XXX corps better move fast if they want to get here in time.

Hades -> (7/30/2002 10:58:52 AM)

Eindhevon Area
I have lost Eindhevon so the that means Veghal is the next fight. After the rout in Eindhevon the troops defending Veghal vow to defend to the last drop of blood.

Grave
Two fearless Opel truck divers charged two AB squds firing their pistols. The trigger happy Americans fired around six bazooka rounds at the two trucks. But none of the rounds hit! The Amis realizing what was really going on shifted fire to a JPz-IV/70 driing acroos the bridge. Too bad they were out of bazooka op fire.:D

Nijmegen
Here the airborne can aim hier bazookas. Three HTs were destoried by hidden squads, but the SS men on them piled out and returned fire.

Will email to Kaakao. M4 do you want the turn too?

VikingNo2 -> (7/30/2002 11:38:51 AM)

G_X -> (7/30/2002 12:22:04 PM)

Go Hades!

Sorry Kaakao, no offense, just rooting for the German team :)

Hades -> (7/30/2002 12:25:13 PM)

Go Kaakao!!!:D

Sorry but I've seen the odds and well.... the Germans will try.

Kaakao -> (7/30/2002 4:13:21 PM)

:D

Kaakao -> (7/31/2002 12:27:11 AM)

Great, Eindhoven is secured and xxx corps are moving out. Veghal is defended by atleast 2 at guns and mg's. Interesting to see how things develop from here, the first town without paratroopers.

At Grave one Marder and that Jpz which Hades allready mentioned were taken care of, btw 60mm mortar is nice for supression :)

Njimigen doesn't seem to like ss, 3 ss-squads die and airborne takes no losses :) There's atleast 2 or more stugs heading towards Groosbeek but atm I can't do nothing to them.

In Arnhem few airborne dies when fighting against tanks and crewmen, took one v-hex back and shot the crew of one Jpz.

At the end of the turn, 2 typhoons did some seek and destroy. Pilots had their eyeglasses and one Pz-IV and Jpz said boom :)
Anyway, Arnhem won't hold without help from xxx corps :(

Hades -> (7/31/2002 11:41:08 AM)

Ah, direct mortar fire. Nothing like it. In Arnhem several British squads won't be needing rations anymore due to 8cm sniper fire. Most of the squads dispersed after one shot. An omen? I hope so.
Thanks to two bad clicks I lost a HT and Panzer in Njimigen, but don't worry I have a lot of defencive fire power left.
In Grave the brave truck drivers were slain, a Iron Cross will be next to their next of kin.
Veghal should interesting.
