Are there any updates in the pipe for this tool?

cdoarm -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (4/12/2014 4:15:15 PM)

I am currently running Windows 8 with the lastest Beta patch for WITP:AE. When using this utility, the program works fine but the map doesn't come up. Could you assist?

I am running the RA 6.6 mod with the Extended Map (Asian Roads) w/SL

EDIT: Fixed it. Anyone get that error, here is how you fix it.

1) Go to your [path]\bin folder for your Java install

2) Create a new folder titled 'server' without the quotes

3) Go into the 'Client' folder in [path]\bin

4)Copy those files and place them in your newly created 'server' folder

thanks Rebel, your fix worked for me!

Banzan -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (1/13/2015 8:02:57 AM)

Is anyone using it with Windows 8.1? No matter what i am trying, it always stops with lots of errors. Tried with 32 and/or 64Bit Java, new installations of WitPAE on C or D and serveral new downloads of the Reporter, but no luck.
After playing with the CombatReporter for some years, there is no way back...[:D]

For some strange reason, i always get a "wrong registry Key" message after installing the v1.01.08r9 update, but WitPAE starts without any problems - but i doubt this is connected to the CombatReporter problem.

Edit:
These are the errors i get:

Edit2:

Seems to be a Java 8.x problem. I will try it again with Java 7.71.

Edit3:
Its indeed a problem with java 8.x (missing the "groovy" liberies?). After installing Java 7.71 the combat reporter works fine.

Dragoastro -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (3/11/2015 8:42:55 PM)

I cannot get Combat Reporter to run. I updated my Java to version 8 Update 40. Combat Reporter tool is upzipped. I double click combatreporter.bat and get a cmd window that says:

Error: missing 'server' JVM at 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_40\bin\server\jvm.dll'. Please install or use the JRE or JDK that contains these missing components.

I looked for the server folder here and I do not have it. What do I need to do to proceed?

Dragoastro -> RE: Combat Reporter Beta (3/11/2015 8:54:04 PM)

Partial progress. Followed this advice:

EDIT: Fixed it. Anyone get that error, here is how you fix it.

1) Go to your [path]\bin folder for your Java install

2) Create a new folder titled 'server' without the quotes

3) Go into the 'Client' folder in [path]\bin

4)Copy those files and place them in your newly created 'server' folder

OR

You might just be able to rename the client file to server?

Now I see the Combat Reporter splash screen for a second. Then it dies. I have a command window:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/util/HashMap$Entry ...

Can anyone help with this?

Dragoastro -> RE: Combat Reporter Beta (3/11/2015 9:17:23 PM)

Downloaded and ran Java Update 8.0.400 which allegedly installs java update 7.71. Still getting same error. Java Update checker still says I have Java version 8 Update 40.

Dragoastro -> RE: Combat Reporter Beta (3/11/2015 9:53:29 PM)

Rebooted. Now running Java 7.71, combatreporter still doesn't work. Now I get:

'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Now what do I have to do? This is getting frustrating ...

Dragoastro -> RE: Combat Reporter Beta (3/17/2015 7:39:19 AM)

FYI, fix is to set a PATH variable to the Java bin folder. Finally have it working

Hi, have you edited the combatreport.bat file?

By default it contain this string:
java -splash:UV1024.jpg -Xmx1024m -server -jar combatreporter.jar
pause

Cancel -server, save and retry. Hope this help.

MAARTENR -> RE: Combat Reporter Beta (6/19/2015 9:29:44 AM)

Well, I'm sorry if I misunderstand your request, but (as always said) I'm in trouble to understand english correctly. Anyway, I mean this, see picture below:

[img]http://i.imgur.com/TFtwWDE.jpg[/img]

Don't ask me why, but when I delete -server all is ok. And I used CombatReport for years. Don't know if this is useful for you, just give it a try and see what happen (if your PC explode, well...I assume by your nick you're Dutch, so you must come to Italy to catch me, and when you arrive I'm in Libia). MAARTENR -> Please help me. (6/19/2015 2:25:00 PM)

Ok mate that works but now i got another problem.[:D]
Must i install java6 and how does that works?
Or does this is becausse i've got the newest witptracker?

SilentHunter -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/22/2015 2:03:07 AM)

Looks like the same issues as the poster above, I'm on Windows 7. I added a environment variable pointed to the bin folder, and modified the .bat file to be ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_51\bin\java.exe" -splash:UV1024.jpg -Xmx1024m -jar combatreporter.jar)

I had combat reporter working using Java 6 , but wanted to try tracker because people said you can run both. So I downloaded and installed 1.8.0_51 32 bit and I can get tracker to work but not combat reporter. Below is the error, any ideas? Thanks

PaxMondo -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/22/2015 4:34:36 AM)

combat reporter requires java 6 to run. edit your batch file to be something like this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java" -splash:UV1024.jpg -Xmx1024m -jar combatReport.jar
pause

where this: (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java
is the path to the java 6 install. Java doesn't care how many installs you have, and you can point every program using java to a unique install if you must. I have java4 and java6 on this machine in addition to the latest as I have some old software that can't migrate up.

Trugrit -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/22/2015 10:35:36 AM)

I don't have any trouble running both Tracker and Combat Reporter with Java 7.

My execute line looks like this:

java -splash:UV1024.jpg -Xmx1024m -jar combatReport.jar
pause

PaxMondo -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/22/2015 12:56:02 PM)

glad to hear you are able to get java 7 working with both. Maybe it is java 8 that is the culprit? I don't know.

tracker was updated for the new java, I was not able to get reporter to do so and got error windows like above. Moving back to java 6 worked for me. Hopefully you can offer advice to the two above.

SilentHunter -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/22/2015 9:38:06 PM)

OK so I installed Java 6 and still have 1.8 installed to run tracker. Pointed combat report to
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -splash:UV1024.jpg -Xmx1024m -jar combatreporter.jar
pause , create an environmental variable to the bin folder. Now I get the same error. Can two versions of java not be run at the same time? Only doing this because on the tracker form they told me it could be done grrrrrrrrrrrrr

BillBrown -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/22/2015 11:04:47 PM)

I have Java 8_51 installed and changed all of the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" to just java and both work fine.

SilentHunter -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/22/2015 11:54:45 PM)

I found the issue and I think it applies to anyone getting the groovey messages. The jar file is not being extracted and not creating the necessary libraries to run the program. In order to extract the jar files from the witptracker.jar file I had to download a jdk version of java. In the bin folder there's not only a java but also a jar. If you go back to where you installed combat reporter and click on the comabtreporter.jar file, open with the jar program from the jdk/bin folder - this will extract the groovey libraries needed and combat reporter should now work. Just downloading a 32 bit java client does not seem to work because it does not contain the jar application to unpack the file, this giving the groovey errors. Don't know if that applies to some above but it fixed my issue. I downloaded Java jdk1.7.0_79

Trugrit -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/23/2015 3:38:12 PM)

…….In order to extract the jar files from the witptracker.jar file…….

No.

Both Tracker and Combat reporter are two separate stand alone programs.
Each one extracts data from the game save files. Not from each other.

Combat Reporter does not need to extract data from the Tracker Jar.
You don’t need Tracker to run Combat Reporter.

They don’t work on a single execute.

I have both Tracker and Combat Reporter on my Desktop.

First I open the Tracker base and Double click the WitPTrackerNoMap.bat to run the program.

Then I open the Combat Reporter base and double click the combatreport.bat to run that program.

If you edit the bat files you can run one with Java 7 and one with Java 6 if you want.
It just needs the correct path.

SilentHunter -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (7/23/2015 9:13:47 PM)

I have been using combat report on java 6 for a month, over on the tracker form they told me I could run both and combat reporter now used current versions of java. Well it did not work, as the errors above state. I was only able to make tracker work using any version of java, combat report would never work even when I reinstalled 6. It did not work until I unpacked the combatreport.jar file, to do that I had to have the jar jdk package. Running a bat file only gave errors about the groovey classes missing.

Need to work for Win 7x64 java 8, how to do it?

MAARTENR -> RE: Combat Reporter - report monitoring tool (9/26/2015 12:40:30 PM)

New witptracker shows where the recon has been this is new so thats why combatreporter doesnt work i think.
Is this correct? see picture.
