I am waiting to capture Slim Pickens and be strafed by Wild Bill Kelso.

Thanks for the analysis. I was worried that I had become too complacent after spending all those months with resources tied up on the Russian front in my other game.

I am pleasantly surprised at the good fortune that my subs are having so far.

Off the US west coast my subs were also very active, conducting several torpedo attacks on enemy destroyers. However, in each case the enemy ships detected the torpedoes and maneuvered to avoid the fish. It seems that the yankee navy is finally starting to improve their lookout procedures or else these ships would have joined their sisters on the bottom.

seydlitz_slith -> RE: AE Historical Game Project 2. Traskott (allies) vs. Seydlitz (Japan) Japanese side AAR (5/30/2010 4:01:33 PM)

During the turn, we landed forces at Taytay, Balabac, Madang, and Talud-eilanden.
We captured Victoria Point
We lost control of the city of Ichang in China.
It appears that Traskott is forming a perimeter line in China and my Ichang forces were heavily outnumbered with a risk of being cut off. I had reinforcements enroute but the commander on site realized that his tactical position was untenable and ordered his troops to abandon the city and retreat back towards Hankow in good order.

My Wake Relief Force is about two days out from Wake. The troops in the initial landing force are firmly entrenched on the island, with supplies, and in good morale. The yankees have been unable to dislodge them despite several tries. As soon as the relief force arrives, we will complete our conquest of the island.

On Luzon, the allies appear to be moving forces up to Vigan to contest the landing there. My spearhead forces have been digging in and are readying a warm reception for them. All Formosa based bombers are also being directed against the enemy troop concentration and I should be able to report on another victory after the next turn.

My second wave of troops are enroute to Luzon and I have made a tactical decision to land most of the northern forces at Apparri then march overland to Lingayen. This is a variation to the normal historical landings that we see, but the effect will be the same although hopefully with fewer casualties.

On Malaya I have some troops advancing on Georgetown while others are moving by rail down to Kota Bharu. I am going to mass there and then advance southwest along the rail line to Tremuloh, hopefully cutting off part of the northern portion of the allied army.

In other action, we landed at Singkawang and Sarmi. Our forces also captured Madang, Kweithen, Talaud-eilanden, Taytay, and Balabac.

We continued to perform fighter sweeps over Singapore and northern Luzon, but the enemy seems to be reluctant to engage.
