Spechtmeise -> When? (5/27/2010 7:30:24 AM)

Any idea when this will be released?

Lord Zimoa -> RE: When? (5/27/2010 9:17:26 AM)

Exact release date still have to be set but, we aim for a Q4 2010 release.

Cheers,
Tim aka LZ

As I've said before, each game has its own business model and its own development costs. It's not apples to apples even within our catalog and once you go outside this niche market making comparisons is almost impossible

After the BftB pricing controversy, before I get too excited about this game what price range do you see this game in...

boatrigm -> RE: When? (5/28/2010 12:38:29 AM)

Yeah.....the price..... if it's another $79 game I'm out.

Lord Zimoa -> RE: When? (5/28/2010 7:44:52 AM)

When you look at Slitherine`s game page

http://www.slitherine.com/games/ctgw_pc

It now is £ 29.00 GBP. So 39.99 USD or so...

boatrigm -> RE: When? (5/28/2010 4:33:28 PM)

For $40 I will pick it up as soon as it's released!

Bevington -> RE: When? (6/1/2010 4:38:48 PM)

Count me in as well!

OmegaMan1 -> RE: When? (6/3/2010 1:19:22 AM)

$40 well spent! Consider me sold! [8D]

billyjj -> RE: When? (6/8/2010 7:24:37 AM)

40 Sounds fair to me, I could care less about BftB I'm not even going to buy that game if the price goes down there are so many better / cheaper games coming out. This is more like it

vonRocko -> RE: When? (9/27/2010 1:54:02 PM)

Has a more precise date been set for release? Thanks

boatrigm -> RE: When? (9/29/2010 3:28:15 AM)

The Slitherine web site has 30/9/2010 listed....we can only hope!

vonRocko -> RE: When? (9/29/2010 5:35:30 PM)

Thanks, that is great news! I hope it's true.

Lord Zimoa -> RE: When? (9/29/2010 9:36:23 PM)

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but late Q4 2010 or even Q1 2011 is more realistic. We are not going to rush this game out, it has to be rock solid upon release.

Cheers,

Tim aka LZ

Doh....[sm=sad-1361.gif]

yoshino -> RE: When? (10/2/2010 5:41:03 AM)

Actually it's a good thing I think.Recently so many developers rushing release half-baked games.
Keep good work.

Lord Zimoa -> RE: When? (3/8/2011 6:47:34 PM)

Next week we start with the first test group of selected pre-Beta testers, from than on we will crank out new builds every two weeks.

Beta recruitment will start end of this months, and we will go into official Beta end of April.

Depending on bugs, balancing, feedback it is one straight line from Beta to Gold, from experience we count on around 8 weeks from the beginning of Beta to get the game into a finished Gold state.

This is our battle plan for CTGW.

Zorch -> RE: When? (3/9/2011 9:08:34 PM)

WooHoo!

Each scenario should be played by PBEM from both sides.

Each tester should play it twice from each side for a total of 4 games per scenario. And each of the 4 games should be against a different opponent.

Each tester should play the AI in every scenario. Each scenario should be played twice from both sides.

In 8 weeks you will fuins bugs but its not enough time to get each scenario balanced!

After about 5 turns in any game, each tester should report the score to-date and the score at the finish.

In that way every scenario can be balanced.

The score in a game against the AI should be different to the score in a PBEM game. The AI will never be as good as a human player so you make up for it by amending the score or victory conditions.

Kubel -> RE: When? (3/26/2011 5:10:57 PM)

Lord Zimoa -> RE: When? (4/7/2011 8:39:47 AM)

We just returned from an International European press event in Varese, Italy, organised by Slitherine/Matrix to show a few of the upcoming games to the media.

We showed Panzer Corps and Commander: The Great War more in detail and in person to some specialized international wargaming journalists and game media.

Thanks to Slitherine and the attending journalists. Stay tuned for features, previews and new screenshots!

An American equivalent is also planned later this year I believe, but Commander: The Great War is releasing this summer.

I leave the release date of Commander: The Great War to our publisher to announce, probably end of April, when we have planned to go into official Beta, it is the best time to announce the exact date.

Lord Zimoa -> RE: When? (4/8/2011 6:52:46 PM)

Guess I will have to wait til I return to Canada in December [:(]....then again there is physical shipment [:D] ...hmm I wonder how that will work for custom collection in theatre???? Guess I'll find out [sm=00000436.gif]

Zorch -> RE: When? (6/16/2011 1:20:24 AM)

Is it soup yet?

Lord Zimoa -> RE: When? (6/16/2011 9:21:27 AM)

It will be done when it is done. The game was just announced way too soon, a mistake we have learned from. ;-)

The main reason for the delay: we decided to finish Panzer Corps first, however Panzer Corps is finished form our side, so we are now in full gear finishing CTGW.

In 3 weeks time we start public Beta, we are currently finishing the Alpha internal test phase.

I quote myself here about Panzer Corps as the same counts for CTGW or any game we will ever do, as we hate unfinished and buggy releases ourselves.

quote:

Hi guys, the main reason we postpone a game is:

We are not happy enough with the game, or decide to add more cool features, or to make sure the game is rock solid and contains as few bugs as possible, or to add more polish, or listen to feedback and do some changes or add new ideas based on Beta testing!

So upon release it is the best game we can deliver at that point in time. We are now confident you will than enjoy it and get some quality for you hard earned money.

You had to wait maybe longer than initially planned and we understand this is unfortunate and for some annoying, therefore our apologies, but it was for the good of the game and that is what counts in the end!

Cheers,

Tim aka LZ

Zorch -> RE: When? (6/16/2011 9:15:01 PM)

Amen!

There's no substitute for quality.

Douaumont -> RE: When? (6/24/2011 7:05:05 PM)

I only recently got into this series and love it. I am *really* looking forward to this game and am glad they are putting their time into making it as best as possible upon release. Keep up the great work guys!
