Bombardment process change:
Rather than start the ship bombardment at a fixed range of 3 to 12 depending on the ship type, the start range is 30 for day and 15 for night.

As range closes, weapons become more accurate. This also means weapons become available to fire as range closes, rather than be mainly available immediately as currently.
If a minimum Bombardment Range is set, then the ships will outside that range of the shore and only guns with the range will fire. Setting the range to 0 will make the TF behave as now.

I must say, I am a little confused with this change... [&:]
sooo... if I set "Min bombard range = 1" and the TF is heading for night bombardment, the ships will not go closer to the shore and fire only from guns that have at least 16 000 yards range (beginning 15 + 1)? Is it correct?

So to use the 12,7 cm Mogami class secondary armament (of range 16 000) effectively we should rather decrease the range to 10 000 yards?
But there are no negative numbers, which means we cannot REDUCE the "15" range?
How "the range closes"? Up to what range, then?

I am about to install...does this also now take care of the 'organizing' bug too. I read through but did not see it. if so, I am unable to find that patch. Please advise.

Thanks.

topeverest -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (6/16/2010 11:34:45 PM)

Let me clarify my ?

Is the LCU fragment explosion the 'organizing' bug by another name?

Yes, it is the same bug.

Hi guys, just a quick dumb question. I have to make a fresh installation of the game ; can I just put the beta patch over the vanilla game or should I install all patches in sequence?
Thanks a lot.

What's are the changes from c to d? I couldn't tell from looking at the opening post.

Edit:
Duh - just look at the last 10 lines or so and even I can figure it out!

PaxMondo -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (6/19/2010 2:53:28 AM)

Great Job team

LoBaron -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (6/19/2010 8:04:18 AM)

Hehe I had the same question too until I scrolled down to the end of the list. [:D]

Great work again!

steveh11Matrix -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (6/22/2010 10:34:59 AM)

OK, I'm coming to this late... Is the official March patch no longer available, and if so, why? Should I install this instead?

Steve.

HansBolter -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (6/24/2010 5:48:47 PM)

Is anyone else experiencing disappearing graphics with the beta patch?

During my last game turn the ground unit icons disappeared from the ground combat reports.

After the turn ended all icon graphics and text disappeared from base and task force interfaces.

I have registered the game, but I can not down load this file.  Ir either stops after a while or does not allow me to download it.  Can anyone give me hints on what I might do to download it?

Don't use any sort of download manager (or at least disable simultaneously connections), Matrix server hates those. If that is not the case, try with different browser, for example. Mozilla worked for me finally..after d/l stopping twice.

Thank you for the advice, I will have to remember this for the next beta when it comes up.

i just realized that i never noticed v1.01.06c go official, or "non-beta"....any hints on when "d" will be official?

RUDOLF -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (7/2/2010 7:21:34 AM)

Has it gone *Alfa*? if not when will it?

Schanilec -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (7/2/2010 4:10:31 PM)

The computer just will not recognize my password. Is there anyway to down load the patch from here?

Djordje -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (7/2/2010 11:03:53 PM)

For all those having problems downloading patch - turn off your browser plugins like ftp clients, don't use download managers, basically try to make your browser look like a fresh install as much as possible.

If you take a look at url of the link you will see it starts with "ftp.something", that makes installed plugins like FireFTP believe they should be used and they try to download it, and you will get 530 forbidden access error. What you need is plain and simple "Save target as" that gets activated by simple click, and you need to turn off everything that offers advanced options.

It helped in my case, hope it will solve problems for others too.

LoBaron -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (7/5/2010 7:10:24 AM)

So...this ist pure theory.

Just a very hypotetical situation. If I was stupid enough to ask, completely with no other intention than getting a very vague
estimate, whether theres already a release date for the final patch, do I put myself in the extremely high danger of
getting the very dreaded and devoid of content "when its done" or "before christmas" response?

... the final patch ...

First off, you should be flogged around the fleet for even suggesting such a thing. [:-]

A query about the next patch is appropriate. The "final" patch though .... [:D]

LoBaron -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (7/5/2010 3:49:00 PM)

Let me rephrase: The final of the current beta. [:'(]

topeverest -> RE: v1.01.06d Public Beta Now Available! (7/6/2010 1:28:44 AM)

The D patch solved my long lingering fragment issue where C did not. Also like the new features. It's good stuff.

findmeifyoucan -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (7/6/2010 5:24:47 PM)

Great work Matrix!!!

Not only a great game design but the following technical support updates to the game is fantastic. It was worth waiting 3 years for the WIP update to come. :-)

Unfortunately here at my company they keep our browers on a pretty tight leash and we are unable to alter or change our browsers. I'll have to try from a buddies house. That is my only hope. The phone lines are down at my house (even though I don't have internet at home). Unless there is somebody willing to e-mail any and/or all of the patches that I need. I have none as of now and am running stock.

Thanks

findmeifyoucan -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (7/8/2010 5:27:19 PM)

But isn't v1.01.06d the latest Public Beta now available? :-)

Rainer -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (7/8/2010 5:29:55 PM)

Yes, it is.

Schanilec -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (7/8/2010 6:58:16 PM)

Where can one access the patch(es) without going through the members tab Since I'm unable to go that path?

Thanks

Rainer -> RE: v1.01.06c Public Beta Now Available! (7/8/2010 7:57:25 PM)

I am not aware of any other source.
