bigred -> RE: Mandalay-Max effort (4/27/2012 4:27:43 AM)

In Burma we hit Mandalay again w B25s and alot of sweeps. Had a problem w/ DBs going in unescorted.
The P47s came in last and did not have much to kill. I may need to lower their altitude setting so they will arrive earlier. This is a print of the first day over Mandalay. Same again on second day.

For the New Guinea operation I have developed 2 nearby bases. One houses the b24s and the other bases the B25s. I alternate use of bases each 2 day cycle to give the bomber frames stress rest. Same in Burma.

Then this happened just above Lae..I was tired of seeing unescorted transports off loading into NG so I sent Arliegh Burke in command of a Fletcher 5xDD Tf to clear the area in a fine fashion.
