What about introducing a chance of flights "missing" each other while they meet in hex, increasing with altitude difference between flights. Is it possible to implement?

flights miss each other all the time as it is now... thatīs when you constantly see a couple of fighters missing their squadron on a sweep (happening like 95% of the time) or when you see fighters missing their bombers they should escort (doesnīt happen as often but still "often"). Thatīs independent from altitude though it seems.

Also TheElf suggested to increase chance of flight "missing each other" at higher alt.
But, like increasing fatigue for pilots flying near their A/C ceiling, it would require a code change, and that is not going to happen.

Bye.

Well this can also be the birth of the Best A2A Idea for AE II...

And one can always hope. [;)]

Though you are right, the probability is not high.

Hey castor troy,

I was actually refering to Allied and Axis flights missing each other, meaning no combat in hex X, with a chance of increasing that with altitude difference. The defending side would have a bonus to first detection, decision to engage or not engage and bounce (climbing up or loosing altitude as required) if they had support of ground observers and radar.

One can dream [8D]

Streptokok -> RE: A/C Performance - High Alt (8/11/2010 8:21:03 AM)

Im obviusly doing something wrong, I swept a base twice with Zeros on max alt and got spanked [8|]
Lost 10 Zeros on first sweep, 5 on the second allies lost half the numbers (oposing planes were P40E's).

And then, on the third turn I swept with Oscars on 9k and ate them alive [X(]

Anyway, Im confused and wondering if strato-sweep has been fixed in last patch or its just me and my crappy rolls as usual? [:D]
