Kung Karl -> Time of turn resloution? (8/14/2010 9:14:11 AM)

First, this game looks realy good!

Advanced Tactics was a great game but what kept me from playing it was a the extremley long time it took for the computer to calculate and execute its turns (Core2Duo 3.2 GHZ, 4GB RAM). If I am not mistaken we didn't even get to see the moves during the CPU face? How is the length of the turns in this game?

Hi Karl,

The AI in the Poland scenario completes it turns in 2-3 minutes on such a system, also you get to see the moves of the AI while your waiting. Its faster in Sealion and slower in France. France is quite a huge scenario for the AI but i think it does pretty well, like maybe 4-5 minutes for france AI or Germany AI and less for the other allied powers.

Best regards,
Vic

Thanks for the info!

I currently have a Core2Quad 3.2Ghz processor. Will this game take advantage of that or will it run at the same speed as with the Core2Duo?

Being able to see the AI while it is moving is IMHO one of the biggest improvements from the original AT engine and makes the AI's calculation time much more interesting to watch.

In terms of turn resolution, to what extent if any, can you control the speed of review.

I like to see what my opponent is doing, possibly in some detail and do not require hugely rapid AI respones. If anything I would probably want the opposite.

DCBLITZ uses a seperate thread for AI and for the GUI so duocore is better then single core. 4 cores is overkill for this game though. However it leaves some space for you to browse the internet and do other stuff. ;)
