Hi there. I just bought the digital copy of Distant Worlds, and upon installing and going to the game menu, I got a massive error message when clicking on the "play" button.

The only fix I saw for any opening errors was to run the .net fix, unfortunately, that did me no good.

Anyone know what I should do? A broken game isn't worth 40 bucks to me.

Could you upload your DXDiag file and computer specs? Possibly then someone on the
forum could investigate and help you. Don't worry, I had similar first-time error
problems when I purchase the game also, but the forum members and moderators here
are VERY helpful in solving problems once they have enough info.

Thanks for the response. I have now fixed the issue with getting into the game, though now I am having an issue with my mouse bugging out and sticking to the upper left of the screen.

Is this a new game? I've already experienced a screen that bugs out and replaces the galaxy with a big red "X" on a white background, a 4 hour install issue, and a mouse cursor that goes nutso to the point of having to start a new game. I mean, I like what the game could be if I could make it past 30 minutes in, but for 40 bucks it doesn't seem like it was released as a finished project.

Do you think it was because I bought the digital copy? Should I get the actual disc?

Try updating your video and sound drivers. Links below. Your sound drivers are very old.

I will do that and see. Thank you very much for the input.
