JamesM -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/8/2012 8:43:10 AM)

All I can say Goranw is wow, great work. Will it be available without the date markings?

HerzKaraya -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/9/2012 9:35:42 AM)

Same question here, any chance of having it without the dates? Thanks for the great work!

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/10/2012 11:37:24 AM)

Hi!
Today I have no version without the dates.
The planning map is still my main mod that is uploaded on my site.
The version just pictured is when I have looked at it not good enough.
After shrewing of the vegetation map ( and that is nessecary since the WitE map is a bit
shrewed in some areas) the vegetation in the river areas dont fully match the rivers and then its not a good map.
I will work on this.
Goran

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/11/2012 8:52:14 PM)

Hi!
Here is a part of a more reliable version.
The "planning map" integrated with a real vegetation map.
This time without the dates.
Goran

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/12/2012 10:50:24 AM)

Hi!
So far a JPG-version
Real vegetation map.

HerzKaraya -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/12/2012 10:01:48 PM)

Great!

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/13/2012 10:43:11 AM)

Hi!
It will look like this when playing on the combined vegetation/planning map.
Its not altering game play in any way. Its easy to differentiate between vegetation and
in game light and heavy woods resp swamp. Black dots are added towns, not ingame.
Otherwise dots are depending on manpower and factory capacity (blue).

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/13/2012 8:52:16 PM)

Hi!
Now the 63 Tga-files can be downloaded from my site
( In 3 portions) www.mannaberg.se
Goran

mercho -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/14/2012 10:38:26 AM)

Thank you very much Goran. Just wonderful without all the dates. The map is much "cleaner" now.

mercho

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/14/2012 10:36:27 PM)

Hi!
I would recommend to download from my site
Tga-files 1-10 again as I have changed 1 and 2 a bit and
file 10 Tga had for some strange reason only 1022*1022 pixels.
The file map was then slightly disturbed in connection with
neighbouring files. Sorry for the trouble.
Goran

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/17/2012 2:03:20 PM)

Hi!
Planning map with integrated vegetation map. No change in game play.
With colour coded dates of occupation and names from some German operational maps. ( Easy to follow history and compare own play)
Added minefieds, possible routes through the bigger mountains and swamp areas, lighthouses and some more permanent minefields.
Added some rivers of importance, some railways and Minsk-Moscow highway( all these of course not "ingame")
Factories and manpower colour coded. Hitler and Stalin hq's. German OKH's noted with dates. Historical borders.
Soviet fortified areas with their numbers and built defence lines of more permanent type.
Goran

jack54 -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/18/2012 5:32:37 PM)

thanks goranw,

Very nice map; esp. when playing as the Germans! I like it without the dates that seemed a little too busy for me. Really a great job... vielen dank :-)

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/19/2012 3:32:23 PM)

Hi!
Finnish front at 24 july on the "Planning map"with vegetation.
Below same situation when on Zoom4 you compare with historical frontlines.

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (8/20/2012 3:34:02 PM)

Hi!
You can now download the combined Operationskarte
(Planning map) -vegetation map from my site
www.mannaberg.se.
the 3 files are called pl-veg.
With dates[8D]
You can still of course download the version without dates.
Goran

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (9/19/2012 6:54:11 PM)

Hi!
A more complete version.( this so far a jpg-version)
Still more similar to the German war maps based on the international World map in scale 1:1 000 000-
the so called "Operationskarten" -Allied " Situational map"
Its also easier to see the war armies movements on the map by following the dates.
(For example look at the German attack in the Caucasus area or the Soviet attack against Budapest in Hungary)
Dates are not estimated from illustrated war maps but from official dates from official Soviet, US and German sources.
Combined with a vegetation map.
Of course, as before, fully playable and no change in game play.
Probably the final version on my behalf.
Will change the interest to the very promising map WitW (and WitE2).
Goran

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (9/20/2012 9:00:30 PM)

Its now possible to download the 63 playable tga-files from my site www.mannaberg.se.
1--22, 23--43 and 44--63. The others are without dates. Both have a vegetation map integrated.
Goran

JamesM -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (9/21/2012 1:10:22 AM)

Goran,

In your latest map versions without dates the town or village 0-1-2 are showing up as gold dots. Even with this it is still the best looking WitE map out there.

Thanks for your opinion!

Another thing; Some are confused about the Zip-files.
1--22, 23--43 and 44--63 are the map with dates. Perhaps a bit cluttered but functional when compairing to history.
1-10, 11-21, 22-42 and 43-63 are the map without dates. Perhaps more aesthetic.

An example of the veg. map without dates. A screenshot.

Daveion Steel -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (10/8/2012 11:57:21 AM)

I have to agree with everyone that this looks really good. Great job indeed.

I have one small issue, I cannot appear to use it as the entire map appears glitched. I am running 0n 1680 X 1050 resolution and I suspect it could be a resolution issue but I do not have the time to qiuckly check as I am off to work.

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (10/13/2012 9:39:02 AM)

Hi!
Just for fun;
4 examples of playable maps. (Besides the original map)
1. Ex Zoom4 with historical front lines at intervalls 41 up to spring -43)
2. Ex Zoom2 game map combined with a vegetation map. Extended naming.
3. Ex Zoom2 game map with historical ocupation dates / whole war), some other information and vegetation.Extended naming.
4. Ex Zoom2 game map with a beautiful and functional naming made by Red Marcus.

Daveion Steel -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (10/14/2012 6:52:06 PM)

Does not appear to be my resolution, so I am stuck with no idea what is wrong. I have been using red markus maps and I guess I will continue using those until someone can explain why Goranw's maps do not appear to work for me.

Daveion Steel -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (10/14/2012 6:54:34 PM)

I do not have the Unit symbols installed that appear on Gorans maps, maybe that is the reason why they do not work?

However after looking at Gorans post above mine I see that red marcus maps are compatible?

I am lost, please help me get this working.

D...

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (10/15/2012 8:56:14 AM)

Hi!
Check that your map files have been unzipped correctly after download.
They should be 63 tga files with the size of 3 073 kb each.
Name the folder "Zoom2_nogrid".
Start the game with the option in "game preferences" not showing hexes.
Hopefully it will function. Otherwise we must think again.
Goran

added:
The original map has 7 maps with the size 3 079.
No 9,18,27,36,45 and 63.
Perhaps this could on some systems or resolutions give trouble???
Perhaps someone with tecknological competence could answer this??

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (10/29/2012 11:32:25 PM)

Hi!
New version of the Operationskarte-Situation map. So far in jpg. Reworked in some historical battle areas.
More dates,names and rivers that will make it more easy to follow history.
As before nothing that changes game play. Just information.
Goran

goranw -> RE: Planning map(on a zoom 2 map) (11/4/2012 1:01:08 AM)

Hi!
Regarding the "Operationskarte" with integrated vegetation map,
more names, some altered coastlines, rivers and occupational-dates.
You can now download the 63 playable tga-files.
They are at my site www.mannaberg.se in " Ny mapp" 1+2+3.
Download, collect into one folder and name that Zoom2_nogrid.
Keep the old one with a new suitable name as a reserve.
Goran
