I am trying to continue my 1108j7 test game with 1108k

On begin everything seems fine, but when game reach "upgrading land units" phase game freeze.
Maybe something is wrong on my side? I am waiting at lest 10 minutes, and game window is still in no response mod

I have updated the beta.

Problem has been caused by a device upgrade loop that I wasn't expecting
KNIL Rifle Squad (#973) upgrades to KNIL Rifle Squad 45 (#996), which upgrades to KNIL Rifle Squad (#973) ....

Code is trying to find next available upgrade.

Still not 100% happy with the changes to the device upgrades for LCU whcih don't start with a formal TOE or their starting TOE is drastically different to their stated TOE.

This is a BETA version, and it is likely to have effects you don't want to see.

Michael,

I can't rebuild VP- 23 with VP 23, dets 1, and 2. All are on Johnston Island and have the same HQ, I moved them to Pearl and they still will not rebuild.

Same with the 8th PS and 8th PS Det, both are at March, I move them to LA and still will not rebuild.

Game saved under 1108j also tried it under 1108k without any luck

Strange I can't any detach groups to recombine. Code hasn't been changed, and I can't see how any detachment could have combined in the past.

Has anyone successfully combined detachments in the past???? Like the VP-23 units.

there is code to reattch units back their parent, but it does not seem to be getting executed[&:]

I have reactivated it and will update the beta tomorrow.

There should be a button showing for re-attaching these subunits

When I start a game japanese side, there are some unit`s with detchaments. I can`t combine them. So short ...No i can`t either

There are a lot of detached air units on the IJ side. I can tell you running the patch that they re-attach just fine. So, the re-attach code is working fine, at least on the IJ side.

Arleady fixed - try latest beta.
Probably You using first (1108k) version, but You need use updated one (1108k1)

On the Allied side I reattach those air unit fragments all the time pre-Beta. With the Beta I can't.

There seems to be a problem with re-attaching on the Japanese side as well.
I changed the planes of the 63rd I.F. Chutai and the planes of 63rd I.F. Chutai Det to Dinah II. That should allow re-attaching (I have successfully used the same procedure for some other aigroups under previous game versions), but the button is missing. It seems only some airgroups are afflicted, since other re-attachments did work.

I see a similar problem in Osaka on the opening turn of Scenario 1 with the latest beta patch (k1). I was planning to join up the 12th Ku K-1 (Bettys) for deployment to Takao but I can't attach Det A or B. The same problem is to be had with the 12th Ku S-1 (Zeroes); Detatchments A and B cannot join with S-1.

As always, you have my heart-felt thanks for all of the work you are putting into this game. Words cannot begin to discribe my addiction to AE. [:'(]

Updated the beta to correct the inability to re-attach editor defined detachments; not subunits A/B/C.

Sadly I have to admit that the device upgrade loop problem is still prsent on my system (v. 1108 k3). Is there a way to gain more Information why someones don`t have that issue anymore and at my system it ist still present. I would like to help a little bit. But only to say it dont work right is not enough.

On loading tracker works fine first time then I get the following error message and I have no idea what is wrong as lit loaded and hour ago fine??

Sorry didin`t have a save and as I tried to reproduced it it did not occur which is good [;)]
The main problem is the "device upgrade phase". But that has nothing to do with a save game because if I start a new game and only run the turn it stops at that phase. My Computer don`t like patches k-k2 ;)

Ok I saw this thread..so I hope a sulution is on the way [;)]

Hi Michaelm,

I did a fresh install of AE and downloaded your latest patch about two hours ago. When I play against the AI as Japan in Scenario 2 the game hangs up when upgrading land units...

I've tried two or three times but I can't get past the upgrading Land Units phase at the end of the turn.

There was a loop in the upgrade code that was fixed.

Them pesky Dutch devices again. A different set looped in still ANOTHER fashion.
I have put a limit on how many times it will look through a device upgrade before deciding it can't find an appropriate one. This will automatically break the loop for these cases in future.

Attached is the version K3 EXE to be unzipped into the Beta2 directory.
I'll make up a proper install file tonight when I get home from work.
