tweber -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/25/2011 11:41:37 PM)

Turn sent.  I was able to sink a commerce raider so my sea lanes are relatively clear for now.  Getting close to last Sultinate city on mainland.  It's capture will allow me to brink forces to bear to the north.

Arditi -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/26/2011 3:30:59 AM)

Turn 17 to Allan.  Allan moves his army up to enagage my left flank of my continent and to support his ally.  I await a landing at my beaches.  Reserves built up.  I take a city from Tom. This will weaken him a little as it is a home city.  I attempt to take the other from him.  Tom lands forces along the coastal road to impede my advance.  I assault another German city to ill effect for me.

Coming down to meet Tom and finishing up Germania. Hugs and kisses for all.[;)] Critical times for my nation.

Turn sent.  Assaulted Republic capital but it held.  Also did a landing on the northern part of Arditi's mainland to put pressure on a lightly defended city.

Arditi -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/26/2011 4:24:40 PM)

Tom made a landing in my rear.  Moving/planning to finish off his other coastal city.  He has light forces to slow my advance down in that theater.  Feels like North Africa.  Captured some additional oil which is nice.  Allan appears to be hunkering down in my eastern theater.  I am ready for their beach landing there.  Captured two AI tank factories.  They will be churning out for the war effort.  I still have the initiative it seems.  Waiting for that to turn...we will see.  Great game.

tweber -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/26/2011 9:33:25 PM)

Turn sent.  I capture the last remaining Sultinate city on the main land.  This secures my flank against the coming offensive from the North.  I set a record for kills this round (over 700 infantry of various types).  The sultinate had a large infantry force that was poorly supplied.  There are probably 500 infantry around the city with a very low readiness.  Provided I survive the counter attack, I should be able to build up a lot of experience.  Even better, the Sultinate built an airport that I hope to capture in the coming turns.

I also almost captured the Republic capital.  I whittle it down to about 10 remaining infantry.  I expect to capture it next turn and I am allready ferrying troops across the water to meet Arditti's offensive. Next few turns will be crucial in trying to stabilize the situation.

Turn sent. We are now in contact along this front. My initial set of attacks went well and unless there is something from the interior, I think our forces are evenly matched here.

Building up on my other town. Arditti has a tremendous advantage in his setup in that he does not have any sea lines to interdict. Subs seem to have a really long AS range which combined with oil costs on surface ships makes them insanely effective.

Arditi -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/28/2011 12:14:48 AM)

Turn sent to Allan.  Man, what a gloriously exciting, stressful and thought provoking turn(and game).  My turns are slowing down due to time thinking.  I ask my honorable game compadres to post maps as well.  I will post more, but stress a bit that I am giving too much away.  I will continue as well.  I do have the advantage of solid interior lines and I rejoice at that.  Tom and Allan have the benefit of 30 some odd total points compared to my 18-19.  They also surround me and are making little landings on my glorious lands to keep me jumping.  They also have more producing cities than I do.  I have taken one of Tom's home cities and hope to take another.   Advantages are what nations want in war...this scenario is interesting as some of the advantages are flush with the other side's advantages.  but, the guessing continues and the competitiveness of the three of us.  That is why I picked these two gentlemen.  Maps later.  Thanks for the great competition...you dogs.[;)]
More later.  Arditi[;)]

Arditi -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/28/2011 2:22:28 AM)

Map of operation against Tom's city on my coast. Carthage must die...and be erased.[;)] I cross a defensive river line at two points. Cruiser sunk.

Arditi -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/28/2011 2:27:16 AM)

Tom and I again. I hit two battleships, but only reduce them. Not sunk. Shucks. I take a hex.

Arditi -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/28/2011 2:35:16 AM)

Allan and I engage in trench warfare. Artillery is king. I await Tom's flanking and rear end moves. Good stuff gents.

tweber -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/28/2011 8:41:16 AM)

Turn sent.

Not much hope of lasting. AS is way to effective in this game as subs have an AS range of 100 AP. A few units on my sea lane decimate my supply lines. I have to expend almost all my fuel in 'needle in a haystack' searches. I am unable effectively reinforce my fronts and it is just a matter of time to before each location is reduced in turn.

Arditi -> RE: ATG AAR "Master of the Seas" (4/28/2011 10:21:02 AM)

I end up staying up late to play a turn.  Am I crazy? [;)]  Now to bed.  1 Cruiser and two battleships sunk with torpedo bombers.  Maps later.  Goodnight.
