Tracker Question - My opponent and I are considering moving up to the latest beta for our ongoing PBEM game. Before we do, however, I would like to make sure that the latest beta is happily compatible with Tracker. I downloaded an earlier beta version a couple of months ago and couldn't get Tracker to read the game files. Has anyone here had experience using the latest beta with Tracker?

in my game P6 tracker does NOT work but that maybe me. I assume when the official patch comes out it maybe checked etc.

My number one concern is there are so many excellent revisions but still no new proper PDF manual to explain them all - i am getting totally lost.

I have a PBEM game as Japan using Q1 and one as Allies using P6. I use Tracker for both. You need to copy the DLL file from the 'Beta 2' folder in the game folder into Tracker. If you have successfully gotten Tracker to run with earlier versions of Beta, but having problems now. Then, the most likely problem is the correct DLL file.

I did that but it says earlier turn than already loaded?

so how can you delete later turns from tracker from an old game. the 007 file is not in the tracker folder so ho can it read it???

Disregard my earlier question. After getting home from work I downloaded the newest beta version of the game and Tracker. I took ny59giants advice and moved the .dll from the Beta2 game folder to the tracker folder. I also copied the 32 bit version of Java into the tracker directory. After making sure all the batch files were pointing to the right directories, I ran a few turns against the AI and saved to the designated Tracker slot. Tracker loaded the turn and performed as advertised. Life is good!

I did that but it does not work, i cannot see how you can edit BAT files either.

it loads ok but when I load it says turn is earlier than already there, from a deleted game , so how I delete a turn from tracker????

I just got done loading the latest Beta patch. And the game starts in window mode. I got the window to max. but the graphics part only shows in less than half the area. How do I fix this?

To 'edit' a batch file, right click the icon on your desktop that launches the batch file, then select 'Properties' from the menu that comes up on your screen. On the panel that appears, select the Shortcut this tab, there will appear be two fields that you can edit: Target and Start In. Target is the full path name and file name of the batch file, while Start In is the path name to the directory where the batch file is located. Both the Target and Start In must be enclosed in double quotes. For example, on my system, Target is "C:\Tracker 1.8\WitPTracker.bat" and Start In is "C:\Tracker 1.8".

When I finally got everything running and tried loading the save from turn 2 (after first making sure I had deleted the 4 db files from earlier attempts), Tracker told me that Turn 3 was already loaded. I looked at the Sunk Ships list and they were the ships sunk from a prior game. Very odd. So I just played a few more turns against the AI to get passed Turn 3, then loaded a save from Turn 6 into Tracker and everything from the ealier game was gone and Tracker's data was specific to my new game. Not very elegant, but it worked.

Sometimes when I am building a transport or cargo convoy, the cpu will ask if I want to "add more ships", and it adds more AK/AP types.

I wonder if we might have a button at the bottom of that screen saying "Add escort"(for DD, DE types we might find need for at the last minute?)

Suggestion:....I have a Dutch air unit which since approx 1943 has been coming back into service at Frisco, fully staffed, except the *only* type plane it will accept is one that will never build after something like the end of 1941..It will not allow me to use any other plane,(even though the other allies use a very similar plane, (same type, just different fuel tanks and guns, IIRC..)...To avoid the frustration, I have been withdrwaing the unit for 60 days, obviously only a temporary fix..

What if a button were included on air units which would allow us to look at our allies stock for planes, (I.E.:The ability to grab a couple of American B 25's if available, etc.?)

Suggestion:..Just read another thread in which one of our friends has put 3 seperate units of the same division together but he cannot combine them as some of the sub units had already swapped/upgraded weapons..IIRC this requires checking back ever so often to check for when the sub units can finally be amalgamated into full strength units again..

Would it be possible to include a button to allow the units to automatically re-combine as soon as possible, rather than the micro-management of the manual checks?..The notice of the units coming together would show up on the reports?

You can transfer another ship to TF already in the TF display.

Adding the extra ship is really only related to cargo/transport missions where abandoning the cargo/troop allocation causes too many problems.

The shortcut created by the beta installer is in window mode. Just edit the properties to add your desired options to it.

I'm in a PBEM game right now and we chose PDU off at the beginning, thus I'm facing the same problem as you. I gather if PDU was on at the outset this would not have been a problem.

With PDU off, I would have expected that any follow-on standard upgrades would appear as options...

Several things, latest beta:

A very strange occurence. When air units is set to 100% training, and I try to give it another mission in the left field orders (see arrow in picture), game thinks, that I have clicked RIGHT field of orders (Training Mission). It works normally, when training is less than 100%.

It seems, that sometimes DBs are not diving, or it can be some sort of FoW.
I have seen this in one of the AARs, and now in my game. I am pretty sure Allied airplanes have dived, attacking from land, this turn (see picture).

Last, I am not sure it is bug, but my bombers in Australia, set at 60-70% ASW, and 30% train seems to be training only strafing skill, when set to 100ft. They will train Defence if set higher. I actually thought, that only F/FB can train strafing, but maybe this is WAD?

So deleting the db files should be done, I tried it once more did not change anything and it worked, i do not know why but it did....thanks for helping.

When Yorktown appeared her airgroup VF42 appeared with bug in pilots. When first open pilot screen you see a blank line (first pic). After clicking or adjusting the blank line goes away and in its place you get the pilot with a 194 delay showing up in a different line (second pic next post). This happens every time you check on the air group pilots after several turns of checking. Note tracker doesn't show either pilot.

While we are chasing bugs. While updating New Zealand INF groups the Dunedin base force was set to upgrade from the militia, changed from beta P9 to Q1 and made moves and ran turn. Next turn Dunedin BF shows lost the infantry/milita to an additional Aviation group and also additional Engineer line.

Ran next turn and upgraded another BF without any issues so either with Dunedin BF or changing betas??

Erase the "-w" that follows your executable (in the target line) - you'll get the full screen version this way, not a game that opens in windowed mode.

Quixote is correct with getting it to run full screen. However, if you want to take full advantage of your obviously large monitor, also add the following to the command line (use the resolution of YOUR monitor here...)
-px1920 -py1080


Otherwise the default 1024 x 768 pixel game screen will be stretched to fit your monitor.

Note that this option does not affect the size of the startup screens (which will have large black borders) but will make more of the game map visible.....

Looking at the Dunedin BF in editor, the active weapons are slightly askewed with the TOE.
However I would have expected it to correct itself by merging the duplicated slots, and taking the normal TOE replacements, after a few days.

Correct. If 100% training, then your training if you click on any other mission.

Any non-escort mission at 100' will train stafing.
