The front lines haven't changed all that much so I thought I'd just post my moves and show you where my attacks were:

The T77 front lines didn't change all that much so I'll just post the front lines showing the attacks:

paullus99 -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T77 (10/16/2011 1:23:15 PM)

Larry - I'm confused. Why do you have Rifle Corps up facing the Finns when they could be down south participating in offensive operations?

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T77 (10/16/2011 4:07:50 PM)

I had originally planned to use those Rifle Corps offensively against the Finns and the CV's for the Finns turned out to be a little bit higher than I had hoped to find.  However, I have no plans to abandon my offensive against the Finns permanently.  Just a postponement for now.

gingerbread -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T77 (10/16/2011 5:03:55 PM)

If recon shows it empty, you could try to invade Osipenko (109, 106). Be sure to invade the turn you do recon, since it in itself will tip him of.

Flapdrol -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T77 (10/16/2011 5:56:09 PM)

If you want to attack the Finns, transport your Rifle Corps to Leningrad, where he has only regiments defending.

But, given that all his armor is off your radar, and is likely to strike somewhere soon, they may serve even better as a reserve for the main front.....

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T78 (10/16/2011 11:31:12 PM)

T78: I bought several new Rifle Divisions and Rifle Brigades and left them parked near Leningrad. I'm thinking I can use them to attack the
Finns near Leningrad and maybe push them back far enough to make the Finns abandon the war.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T78 (10/17/2011 12:35:30 AM)

The turn is Dec. 10, 1942 and I probably jumped the gun a little too early with my moves in Northwest Front. I had some stacks of three
and spread them out to flip the hexes and form another front line and comparing the CV's of the enemy units I'm thinking on second
thought that maybe I shouldn't have done that. More people, I need more people there. But I'm out of AP's for this turn so the new
rifle brigades for this area will have to wait until next turn.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T78 (10/17/2011 1:12:42 AM)

I noticed this turn that most of my aircraft groups are now in size 32-at-a-time instead of 20-at-a-time. And there were some
squadrons that came 10 as a full group. I went through the air force disbanding those groups of size 10 to replace them with size
32 squadrons. I'm not sure how much of a difference it'll make but I'm guessing it might have some slight impact on the air war.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T78 (10/17/2011 2:33:43 AM)

It looks like KLilly started a push of his own. So I moved the 3rd Army over to help contain the schrapnel. The 3rd Army is the neon-blue
units.

randallw -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T78 (10/17/2011 5:37:02 AM)

Those air units of 10 planes sometimes convert over to a regular size unit, on their own.

Your tank fleet looks low.

If you have lots of artillery ( of the right type ) in the pool, consider building artillery divisions.

I did not know that. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm low on AP's right at the moment but I do plan on building a bunch of tank Corps.

Are the right types the 152mm dudes or 122mm dudes? Or something else entirely?

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 10:50:38 AM)

Here's the T79 front lines before any recon or movement.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 10:55:32 AM)

To my surprise KLilly pulled back in a major way in the north. I'm thinking I don't have enough people to sweep the territory and form a
longer front line. Maybe I need to buy some rifle brigades or something.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 11:39:17 AM)

I blew a hole in the lines but KLilly will be able to fix it I think.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 11:55:59 AM)

Here's my moves. I ventured out into the area NE of Riga but not very far. Also, I railed in some rifle brigades to help form a new
front line. I did a lot of deliberate attacks and flew a bunch of air base strikes. Reconed a bunch. Anyway, here's how it ended up.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 12:01:43 PM)

I'm running short of vehicles already. He must have destroyed more vehicle production factories than I thought. Or maybe that's just a
short-term shortfall due to my moving some vehicle factories from where-ever they were to safety. I really can't remember moving some
vehicle factories. I'll look on the production page for clues.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 12:10:33 PM)

Here's the OOB, losses, destroyed units and production. The production page doesn't show any damaged vehicle factories, but I'm down
to the last 140 factories I had. So I guess I'll be hurting for vehicles for the rest of the game. And that kinda puts the kabosh on the
fielding of vast tank Armies. Oh well. It's going to be a long war.

DTurtle -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 1:24:13 PM)

Pushing the Finns back to Vyborg will cause them to surrender relatively quickly as you already control Narva and Pskov. So a strong offensive out of Leningrad could be quite successful, as he has most of his Finns in the far north. That would free up some forces on your side.

Be careful going on the offensive west of Narva, as he could relatively easily surround your forces against the sea if he pushes at the "hinge" at Lake Peipus.

Good idea. Thanks for your input. I really like it when people give me good ideas. Keep 'em coming.

Flapdrol -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/18/2011 8:37:34 PM)

I have to admit that KLilly has me stumped on what he is doing....given the sudden occurrence of armor near the Crimea, I'd expect an attack there. But why would he be withdrawing in the north and center? Is he hurting for manpower? Where is he withdrawing to?

And I *still* would not be concerned about Finland. You can hold him off with a few brigades and fortified zones and withdraw all other troops now to where the action is happening. Once Berlin is gone, you can easily withdraw 40 or so Guard corps and 60.000 airplanes to bulldoze into Helsinki.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T79 (10/20/2011 2:35:27 PM)

I like that phrase "bulldoze" into Helsinki.

larryfulkerson -> RE: 1.05.32beta KLilly vs Fulkerson T80 (10/20/2011 2:59:34 PM)

I've still got the same problem I had last turn in the NorthWest Front, which is that I don't have enough people to expand into the vacant
space left when the Axis units pulled back to the south. I've got mostly rifle brigades in this area which I guess I'll keep moving into the
empty hexes and see if I can't manufacture some rifle Corps to rail up here or something.

I've got lots of AP's and lots of rail cap. because it's still early in the turn....I haven't moved a lot of stuff yet so you guys can feel
welcome to post some advice if you'd like.
