30 Oct 42 North of Borneo Another TK lost. More ASW air groups send to patrol area but so far they not perform good. Marshals 28th ID load on ships but because of my mistake with settings they unload again on Wotje triggering another shock attack 100 more (squads destroyed) Allied DB escorted by P-40 attack invasion TF in Wotje hex. Japanese planes from near AF and KB intercept them. 4 P-40 and 8 SBD-3 shot down. They damage two cargo ships but damages are minimal. No loses on Japanese side. 31 OCT 42 Marshals 28 finally loaded on ships and sailing toward Truk. KB undetected slowly sailing toward Truk. China 50 P-38 sweep Wuchang. Around 40 Japanese fighters engage them. 27 planes lost(6 pilots KIA) for only 3 P-38. My mistake they should CAP above Hankow but i give them range 1 and i was caught in fight without superior numbers on my side. Air Production A6M5 and Ki-43IIa enter production Ki-44IIC advance to 7/43 A6M5c advance to 7/44

Vary bad news from Tokyo. Only PC in hands of Empire of Japan die Today. Probably VGA card. It was 6 years old PC still using AGP for graphic so i will need buy new PC as i not want invest $ to that old crap. They or not producing components fitting for him from years anyway. So probably game is stooped for at lest that weekend or probably next week to. It will depends when i found money to buy new PC. I will need to buy new mainboard, CPU, RAM and VGA card. Rest of components i will use from old one computer becouse they are good. If any one have some knowledge about what i should buy i will really appreciate help. My $ reserve is around 300$ Very sad days koniu

Most (if not all) mainboards nowadays have build-in graphic card, and they have no problem with running WITPAE (and also software 3D). I had similar problem like 2 years ago, but even build-in graphic was better, than the old AGP I had [:D] So, you would only need mainboard, CPU, and RAM (unless you find mainboard, which supports older RAM somehow)

Do NOT buy a Mainboard with integrated VGA card! It will only lead to a lot of frustration and crying. Also its a hassle matching the right memories and CPU with the correct mainboard. But many online stores will sell them in a "package" ensuring you get the correct components! Cheers.

i arleady have components. I have decide to buy AMD Athlon II x4 CPU 3.2GHz (i will have it for maney that normaly I will pay for x2) 4 GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM Asus mainboard GeForce GTS 450 512MB DDR5 becouse I get nice discount it will cost me 250$ from old PC I will use HDD, case, DVD and power suply

How many Watts are you power supply? You will probably need a minimum of 400-450W depending on number of HDDs and stuff. 4GB of RAM is a bit on the low side these days but I guess you can always by more when you get more money! [:)] But it sure sounds like you got a very good deal on the parts! I found a similar package with 8GB RAM but that didn´t include the GFX card!

Still waiting for parts for PC. ETA is today afternoon. I will need one more day to install everything. I planing to return to game in this weekend, maybe in Friday. I make one change in configuration. For extra 10$ i change MB to gigabyte model with AM3+ socket, 16GB ram support and ATA/133 support. Asus model was AM3 only 8GB RAM max and without ATA/133. Without ATA/133 i was forced to buy new DVD drive now i do not have to. I hope i will be happy with that new PC and WITPAE will work perfectly. PS. I have not expecting that not having PC is so difficult. First two days i have problem to finding something to do. I almost not watching TV so PC and Internet was my only source of information. I cant watch my TV show now, I cant read news, i cant play WITPAE. I am addicted from Internet and WITPAE. I neeed help :). koniu

1 Nov 42 We back in game. Docup get turn yesterday and i now waitng when he send turn to me. Summary what is going on in game. Burma Quiet. Akyab is repaired. I have try to keep it close after naval bombardment. But air loses from flak are high ang hig alt attack are useless and he repairing faster that i can damage Cocos Island I am bombing island every day keeping it damaged. Java MKB after Cocos Island battle is repairing small sys damage. they will sail in few days to IO maybe we will sunk more ships. Becouse there is no danger to CV in IO i will send two single CV groups to cover bigger area. Ambon Every day more 4E attacking bases in areea. I will prepare air trap but it will take few days. China Battle around Sian in getting hotter every day. Japanese air force need few days to recover from wounds but they still in game. Marshals Navy is returning to Truk after Wotje landing. I will left in area some naval forces to intercept enemy ships. I will also continue bombardment of enemy beses. If not counting lose of entire ID(easier to rebuild for japan than for allies) allied loses in air and sea are higher so i will call that tie. Manchuria in week another Tank Div will sail to Burma.

2 Nov 42 Burma Quiet. I heve start reckoning major ports on Indian coast. Maybe i will find something worth of sending G3M3. China Daily dose of bombings. Nothing more. Another units upgraded to Ki-44. Japan American sub sunk SC north of Hokkaido Miri Anather TK sunk by dutch sub. This time it was 1250 ton small one. Marshals 50 fighters (A6M3a and Ki-44) sweep Maloelap. They gain 1:1 kill ratio shotting down 10 enemy fighters. Later Ki-49 bombard AF scoring ~40 runway hits and destroying 6 more planes Hawaii S-21 sunk medium size xAP with troops on board [:D] A6M2 and A6M3a pools are almost empty. In few days i will start upgrading KB units to M5 version so that should give me some reserve planes for units still flying older versions. I want to have all KB units to fly M5 version by end of year and all ground based units flying M3a. M5 version will be used for next 14 months when M8 arrive but i think i will probably not have KB so long and main navy fighter will be George.

A6M R&D From beginning my plan was to heavy R&D A6M line. But after few months of game i learn few things. We are currently in 10/42 and I am start production of A6M5. A6M5b/c going to be available to production in 1/44. I thinking to not research M8 version at all for at lest few reasons. 1.M8 is not much better for M5 version or at lest in `44 it will not change anything vs allied fighters 2.M8 short range making him not as good CV fighter like M5 because he will not be able to escort bombers even with drop tanks 3.For land based units (probably most of them as i will probably not have KB in 44) i will use George(superior to any A6M model). What do You think about that. If i decide to skip M8 it will free 6 R&D factories. I can use them to production or to research something else. Waiting for yours opinion koniu

I agree. The A6M line peaks with the A6M3a in terms of performance, but even it is obsolete by early '43. You get armor with the M5, but suffer for it. You really need the A7M series. I'd get focus on that.

5 Nov 42 Burma Another raid on Mandalay. More damage to base and troops Heavy night air raid on Rangoon ~45 B-17 (most of them in single wave) have try to close AF. Lots of heavy AA guns, fighters in air and mostly bad weather allow them to score only ONE hit to AF. And destroy one A6M. Marshals Allied CV TF 50 miles from Wotje. I think those are 2 carriers. First 44 F4F sweep Roi-Namur. 32 A6M3a defend. it was tie. Both sides lost around 10 planes. Few moment later 15 SBD-3 attack troops on Kwajalein we shot down 13 of them I have some army bombers on naval and they counterattack but not manage to score any hits to enemy. Some of them get trugh CAP but they attack enemy CA and CL. In total Japan lost 36 planes 15F and 17 LB and few search planes (and 16 pilots mostly army pilots) Allies lose 28 planes 13 DB and 15 fighters I am sending tree BB TFs. Two will seal to protect Roi-Namur if he want to bombard me at night from sea. Thirdth TF will sweep Wotje if he want to reinforce island. On morning all ships shoul end under air protection. I send everything from area to marshals. I have there now 90 navy bombers with torpedoes and almost 200 fighters. I hope he will stay in renge tomorrow.

6 Nov 42 Bad news from Marshals His carrier stay in area but i made big mistake. I did not notice that supplies in Roi-Namur are low and my bombers can only use secondary armament. Only ~ 40 bombers launch escorted by around 80 fighters. Heavy loses for no gain. 43 Zeros and 32 Bombers shot down. Allies lost 22 planes. 32 pilots KIA 28 MIA.[:@] Fighter units in mess they will be evacuated to Truk for replacements and rest. KB is not combat ready. I am still waiting for fuel and that will take week. More bad news. Kongo and Haruna not make it to move 14 hexes as planed and they where in bomber range at morning. They have only 5 fighter escort even i ordered to fly CAP above them to almost 40 planes Haruna take 2 TT and few bombs Kongo 1 TT and few bombs. They are not is sinking condition but Haruna is only capable to 7 knots. I will try to save them 60 planes will give them cover tomorrow if they survive next day they should be fine. Biggest treat now is not enemy air force but subs. I they manage to move west those 4 hexes and surwive next day i will give them havy DD escore and they will retun to truk. Dammit It was not good day. Losing almost 60 navy pilots cant be good. I can replace that but many of them were experienced pilots and that is not easy to replace. I do not see any invasion ships so probably it is attempt to reinforce Marshals. Meaby to replace units or only to transport supplies. After today i cat stop it. KB have fuel for 60 hex. I will send it to marshals but only to scare Docup and buy time. After losing so many fighters ( most of them where from KB units) KB have now 130 fighter with low morale. 7 Nov 42 Marshals Haruna is safe she is now 450nm west of Marshals. Kongo is still in marshals but she manage to move tree hexes and avoid subs. I am giving 90%chances to Haruna and 25% to Kongo. Tomorrow Kongo will be escorted by KB planes and 6 DD will merge with her to secure against subs. Alied CV still in Marshals. Cargo ships unloading in Maloelap. Truk Enemy subs spot KB TF. Docup know that i am sailing to Marskals. Mission completed. Cocos S-163 find mine. She is now returin to Batavia. She shoul make it Burma Another ride on Mandalay. Japanese troops there are doomed Supply in Burma on reserve. Cargo ships are sailing but it will take some time. All infrastructure building stooped.

EDIT: I am not sure if Allied CVs are still in area. After compeering what i have seen in last turn and today i have one BIG enemy TF less. Also BB/CA TF east of Wotje not showing any planes and during replay he was spotted several time by search planes so DL should be at decent lvl. Also Kongo is in bomber range and they not attack her. Maybe CV are gone and see is only SC TF. With full speed I can be with KB on bomber range tomorrow. Even with air loses from tomorrow i will be able to have 160-180 maybe more fighters in air so maybe i will try to sunk something. Biggest problem for me is right now morale of fighter units. Only half of them have morale 90+ others are 20-50 I will need to do fuel calculations. I must be capable to return home. I can also not do everything and use time to heal wounds. I am sure that Docup have only 2 CV in area. Probably other two still in repair. Any Advise???

8 Nov 42 Burma Some sweeps on north Burma. But no bombers in air. Supplies arrive to Rangoon this time it is only 16k but it is better from nothing. I have end loading supplies in Tokyo 150k will arrive Burma in 3 weeks. Marshals BB Haruna is now 2 days from Truk. I give her 7 DD as escort. If she avoid subs after few days in port i will send her to Japan BB Kongo i bad shape. Flotation and sys damage jump up ~5-8 points last turn probably because she was on full speed. From today only cruse speed. She have now 10 DD as escort. She need to move 7 more hexes until i will park her is safe range from enemy bombers(not remember name closest - island west of marshals). I not sending her to Truk she will go for emergency rapairs in closest base in range. I will send to her two ARs to help. I will try to reduce some damage and then move to Truk and finally Japan. With damage she have now she will not arrive to shipyard sonner than 2-3 months from now. Probably ~year she will need to spend is dry dock. She is out of action for long China Last planes unit upgraded to Tojo in China. I have now only 2 units flying Oscars. One in Burma and one in China. When they upgrade to IIa model i will reduce Oscar production. I will use them as escort fighter during bombing raids. I am planing to start air campaign in China. Planed start is 15 November. I need those days to build reserve of Tojo's and give some rest to pilots. Plan is to gain control of air over Changsha. Enemy forces 180 fighters i will trow to fight 220 (180 Tojo`s) and good plane reserve. Plan is to gain air control and close Changsha AF. Or at lest shotdown as many enemy plane as passable. Prabably i will send one more Tojo unit from Burma. R&D Tojo IIc advance to 7/43 research of A6M line canceled. Only two factories researching now M5b and M5c model. But when they advance i will move them to different plane. They will focus on late war navy and army planes A7M and jet figters.

10 Nov 42 Burma Another enemy raid raid on Mandalay. I am unloading supplies in Rangoon but so far they re not moveing north. I have ID with 50% of supplies ant they nedd them asap. Marshals Kongo move another hex. Flotation go from 89 to 90 KB fihter taking reinforcment and resting to build morale. China 90 Tojos sweep Changsha. 30 planes lost. We shot down 25 enemy figters Kurile Enemy TF spotted. Bomber in allert. Probably enemy CA+3xDD as always.

11 Nov 42 Marshals Kongo stoll alive Ki-49 bomb Maleoelap. 3 enemy fihters destroyed. In port we sunk ACM and AD. New patch I starting negotiations with Docup about updating game to latest unofficial patch. When Docup say YAS we will do it in few days. I want to wait few days to avoid hidden bugs in it.

12 Nov 42 Burma Rangoon have 15k supplies now but is still not enugh. Troops in north byrma stikll not having supplies. Marshals Kongo manage to repair one sys and flotation damage. She is now 90nm from Kusie Island but shee will sail toward Ponape. KB refueled, all fighter groups are combat ready. I am sending CA TF toward Kongo in case Docup will try some kind of naval raid. I need few more days before she will be out of his search planes range Bombers attack AF and Port of Wotje we sunk 3 xAKs. Hawaii One of subs spotted CA Astoria and CL Concord near PH. Those two cruisers where part of SC TF escorting enemy carriers 7 days ago near Marshals. I am almost sure that carriers where near also. I only not know if they sailing to PH or already where there and now enemy Carriers returning to Marshals KB will be ready. I giving orders to Elite pilots from Tracom. I next battle i will have 200 80+ xp pilots in air. China Sian closed with 98 damage. Enemy bombers bombarding my troops in open. Minimal damage. I am preparing air trap. Salomons I am unloading troops on Russel island. I will build there lvl 2 AF to support defense of Guadalcanal Ships where spotted in island hex last day. Today i found enemy Cruiser in Guadal hex. Docup was thinking that i am sailing toward Guadalcanal. Transports undetected today New patch Docup is saing yes for update but we will wait. We want to be sure that patch is safe for PBEM game.

13 Nov 42 Burma Enemy CL sunk xAK unloading supplies in Moulmein. I had there own CL TF. They engage enemy two times but they manage to sneak out without single shot. Marshals Temporary flotation fail. Flotation gof rom 89 to 91. But Kongo still on surface Change of orders. Kongo is sailing toward Kusaie island. Two AR are sailing there also. Two more days and ships will be safe. I am re-basing AV support and small fighter unit to give air support during repairs.
