Just watched the opening episode of ITV's new series Tutankhamen. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Very enjoyable - helped by a decent cast including Sam Neil and Max Irons (son of Jeremy).

Worth a watch if you are interested in the story.

The BBC documentary Surviving Aberfan. The harrowing story of the disaster 50 years ago (21st October 1966) in which 116 children and 28 adults were killed when a mountain of coal slid down a Welsh mountain and obliterated part of a junior school.

So sad and so unnecessary - the coal board has been warned repeatedly of the danger but did nothing [:(]

Well I'm continuing with Westworld but it remains a bit tough going. Last night's episode (number 4) at least showed some signs that things were picking up. I hope it starts to kick on from here.

Did anyone see the first series of BBC's The missing?

Well the second series stated a few weeks ago and I completely missed it. Fortunately I have been able to catch on BBC iplayer and I have to say it is absolutely brilliant.

Thoroughly recommended to anyone who loves quality crime thrillers.

Loved that whole first series. Brilliant to have two hours devoted to each of the subjects! France, Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Midway, Normandy and Berlin.

Zorch -> RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now? (10/30/2016 1:47:15 PM)

I agree. And the series was not 'dumbed down' to appeal to people with no prior knowledge.

Great episode of Poldark tonight. Wonderful acting, wonderful scenery, great storyline. The penultimate episode in the series was a corker - now what does next Sunday have in store?

One of my favorites of all time as well. Riveting! [&o]

I hope that they have been true enough to the history, since I do not know enough of this part of the British past.

No one else watch this? Well your loss - it's gripping.

Dark Angel. Two parter about the serial murderess Mary Ann Cotton.

Cotton, from County Durham was executed in 1873 having, it is believed, murdered up to 21 people including: her mother, most of her 13 children, most of her four husbands and assorted others.

The lead role is played by the cutsie Joanne Froggatt. A very good production.

It might very well be a very good production, I, however, cringe in fear by just the thought of watching it.

Watched this as well, seems to be a good show, although not a huge fan of their choice for Churchill. And did not know that the Queen married Dr. Who [:D]

Well well. Movies for 2017 I hear include:

The Lego Movie 2
Wonder Woman
Beauty and the Beast
Kingsman 2
Dunkirk

Cool!

Ed Harris is the only thing keeping that show going if you ask me. Even Anthony Hopkins has disappointed. (This is all my opinion.)

Well Ed Harris is a bit of a cool dude. He was great in Apollo 13 "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem" [8D].

I assumed that any follow up to the Lego Movie would be a typical cheapy '2' movie. Well if these trailers are anything to go by this will be as good as the original - and that is a hard act to follow!
