I read Beever's The Battle for Spain many years ago and then spent some time last year reading up on Franco / Petain / Mussolini and Hitler's southern options. I look forward to looking at these immensely Just seen the first episode. Excellent. In presentation and tone it's like the The World At War and the seminal The Great War. Like those earlier productions it's also old enough to have survivors from the civil war, and the period leading to it, to provide their first hand accounts. You're welcome, I decided to watch this series again because of the current political atmosphere. Great production and the actual participants along with pics and vids gives it a strong impact.
