I am sorry to hear about the illness in the family. And take your time with the game. Family comes first.

Orm -> RE: New Game? (9/28/2017 3:59:48 PM)

Thank you for the update. The game looks awesome. [&o]

Yes. I love this game! Really looks awsome.

Drakkon -> RE: New Game? (11/9/2017 3:32:37 PM)

Wow, I started this topic in 2012 and it's still going! The new game keeps looking better. And the old game is still a favorite....

How many games have you played now?

Orm -> RE: New Game? (12/9/2017 7:00:48 PM)

Any prognosis for the new year?

Cold and dark, turning to widely scattered light in the spring.[8D]

I forgot to say thanks for this. Thanks!

Well, I have set a firm goal in my mind that the game must be published no later than the end of 2018. I'd like to say summer or fall, but I just don't know if I can make that happen. I don't think that I can.

I agree that more than 5 years ought to be enough for any game.

Orm -> RE: New Game? (12/10/2017 9:09:52 AM)

Sounds like Christmas 2018 might be saved. [:)]

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. And wishes that Santa brings a super game for next Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you also, next year is going to be a good one.

So just to confirm...there will be a multiplayer campaign? I saw mention of a multiplayer battle, but I'm mainly interested in a multiplayer campaign. If so, will players have the option of fighting the battles out using the tactical system? Maybe under certain conditions, such as having a leader, etc.

BTW, Hannibal was and is one of my favorite PC games ever!

mercenarius -> RE: New Game? (1/12/2018 6:29:02 PM)

The short answer is yes. I think with the multiplayer campaign, the criteria for automating battles will be something set at the beginning of the scenario. I want to allow players to fight the crucial battles, but I also want avoid having the game slowed down by minor battles. Some of that can be an option for the players themselves.

I haven't really decided on multiplayer battles or not. But the game will definitely have a few multiplayer campaigns.

Thanks!

Hi, any update plz :D?

mercenarius -> RE: New Game? (3/10/2018 6:06:49 AM)

I have been working on the game and it is progressing. Recently, what I have done is to rework the interface for map selections which don't hold armies.

This replaces what is currently on my website. I have extended the panels to include numerical summaries with color-coding (black is friendly, red is hostile, and grey is neutral).

The attribute panels and summaries that you see above are clickable and will open the relevant dialog with an appropriate selection. For example, if you click on the "Cities" panel in the Display Area you will see the Province Report with the "Cities" pane selected.

The old display when provinces, sea zones, etc., were selected was both overwhelming and not entirely informative. I hope this new scheme will make the game easier to play.

Here is a sample from a province selection:

Of course some of those icons in the panels are placeholders and will eventually be replaced. You may notice the style as taken from "Hannibal." [:D]

Here is a sample from the relevant Report Dialog. It is a work in progress, but you will get the general idea. This is what you'd see if you clicked on the "Cities" icon in the previous screen:

Oh, itīs so beautiful.

Iīll play my lyre in your honor!

SteveD64 -> RE: New Game? (3/12/2018 9:59:44 PM)

Looks good, thanks for the update. Will there be an option to manually enter battle results so that, say, oh just off the top of my head, if I wanted to fight a battle in Field of Glory 2 then enter the results back into the game? I think I know what the answer will be but I can dream [;)]

That seems possible. I guess that it depends on how much manual input or interpretation will be required to give the game the information that it would need in order to conclude the battle and continue play.

Did you envision doing this as part of a multi-player game? Or a solo game?

SteveD64 -> RE: New Game? (4/1/2018 11:08:13 PM)

Solo. Glad it may be doable

Well, I have had to spend time on other work lately, but I will try to post something in the near future.

I am still hoping for a Christmas release. [:)] [sm=innocent0001.gif]

No pressure at all. [:D] Better later, and as good as you can make it, than a rushed product. [:)]
