Is the 2013 the season to watch or is it all a test phase for 2014?

I think if the major teams are doing well in the beginning of the season they will want to win 2013, but teams that fail to make any real big points at the beginning of the season will focus their attention on the new season with the new changes.

I am not really sure what team has the advantages at the moment, as I often feel the test phases are more of a poker match. How full is the tank while testing, new tyres vs old tires. driving to the limit or testing little gimmicks before the big day.
I think as in nearly all seasons the first 2-3 races will shape the 2013 season.

Son coming home tonight so we can sit up and watch the first race together..... I've always been a big Williams fan but now he is with McLaren I'll have to wave their flag as well. News doesn't seem to be good coming from McLaren so I'll see what he has to say. All the games finish now and we'll see their true pace. Can't wait.

Practice is only practice.... Thought is some of the cars are running with low fuel loads to mess things up before the race.

Well done to Raikkonnen and Lotus! Another excellent drive from Alonso. An unspectacular but solid start from Mercedes and Lewis - at least he has some points on the board.

Bit of a disappointment generally, but any Grand Prix that Vettel doesn't win can't be all bad.

That is just ridiculous; no crash helmet and no flame resistant overalls [:-] What was she thinking? How did the FIA allow this?

At least she had airbags in case of an accident [:D]

Here in the US NBCSports has picked up the F1 coverage from Speed Network, which means that I finally get to watch most of the races. Hooray!!

I've been a long time Lotus fan (yeah, I know... this is the team that used to be Benetton, not Lotus - but they are carrying on a great name), so I was quite pleased with the results. A smart drive by Kimi starts the season off well.

My F1 Fantasy League team picked up a nice 54 points.

I think that is about 53 more points than I got for the whole season last year.

So who do you have in your team?




Alonso, Ferrari, Williams, and some dude who picked up another 6 points. Forgot his name though.

I get to pick 1 wildcard in the first 10 races and another in the last 9. Can be either Driver or Team and I am also allowed to "double up". That is to say that I can pick Alonso again and get double the points he gets. So any suggestions for my first wildcard (preferably driver and race) gratefully received.

Yes, I can only play the wildcard once in the first 10 races and another wildcard pick in the last 9. I can pick either a driver or a team but I would get more points if it was the driver because of how the thing works.

I shall hold off on playing a wildcard for Malaysia so come on Alonso!

What was Ferrari thinking?!? My wife and I have a theory on this. It was Alonso's mistake but the team is taking the hit for his F#$% up! The pit crew was ready and waiting for his pit but I think he was too greedy and wanted one more lap on the wets [:-]
