All working now [&o]. Excellent mod, thanks to John and all for creating [:)]

FatR -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.1 (6/19/2012 10:16:26 PM)

I've noticed that crew for G8N is set to 0 (when copying its data for Perfect War files, BTW). Not sure if this even matters, because all planes seem to use one pilot regardless, but should be 2.

ny59giants -> Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (6/22/2012 1:06:47 AM)

Houston, we have a problem!!![:@]

Just found out that there are 3 different Sentai that CANNOT move to any other base!!

4th Sentai - Nates - (ID 1004, 1005, 1006) located at Fukuoka and Formosa is Restricted and for some reason can ONLY transfer with bases under Southern Command.

144th Sentai (ID 1105) at Tokyo with Nates cannot transfer to any bases, PERIOD!!

At Okayama, there are three parts of a Sentai that are Restricted, but you can use PP to buy it out and transfer off Honshu (ID 1063, 1372, 1373).

What happened John??

ny59giants -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (6/22/2012 2:02:04 PM)

OK, while drinking my second cup of coffee, I found the problem. 1st Air Division (ID 3038) has two errors. First is the "static attached" is checked. Second, the Air HQ is attached to "Southern Command" while the other scenarios have it attached to "General Defense Command." I was able to fix it in the Editor, but it didn't seem to make changes with ongoing games, only new games.

Thus, in ongoing games a few of the permanently restricted air units (two Sentai worth of Army fighters) CANNOT leave their current base unless they fly to a Southern Command base. However, they can make it to Luzon by island hopping through Okinawa if you place a BF there.

John 3rd -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (6/22/2012 5:45:06 PM)

CRAP. Will work that. Thanks. Will fix ASAP.

John 3rd -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (6/22/2012 5:54:22 PM)

Problem is now FIXED. Am sending new file (4.6) to FatR. FatR please Post here when this is done.

Sorry Kyberbill for the new update! [;)]

Good catch. As people play--ALWAYS Post issues.

John 3rd -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (6/22/2012 6:00:41 PM)

Files sent.

FatR -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (6/23/2012 4:25:18 PM)

Posted them on the site. Also, set the crew stat for G8N right for this version, before posting.

John 3rd -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (6/23/2012 6:23:00 PM)

Thanks FatR and a good, simple fix to G8N issue.

Kitakami -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/17/2012 12:15:00 AM)

Greetings,

As I tried to rebase them, I found out that [1169 -3rd Tpt. Chutai] based in Kompong Chhnang, is attached to [2nd Air(R)]. Although it is easy to fix, I wonder if it should not start Attached to [Southern Army]?

Just a thought :)

Thanks for the note. I shall keep a list of needs for an eventual new update. Don't plan to do anything soon and am looking comments from players who notice issues like this or play deep enough in to find new problems.

Thanks Kitakami!

Kitakami -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/21/2012 6:04:20 PM)

This is a question, not necessarily a bug:

31 Ku-T1, an IJN Val Hikotai, will arrive around January 22... in Manila? That is a somewhat tight timetable to receive the reinforcement there, no?

Just my 2 cents

Jo van der Pluym -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/21/2012 6:43:05 PM)

I have found the following error

The LCU(5800) Mobiele Eenheid has in wpn2 slot the wrong weapon
It must not be 180mm CD Gun (984) but it must be VCL Tanks

Kitakami -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/21/2012 6:50:27 PM)

Also, there are some plane engines that are available LATER than some airframes that use them:

1. Mitsubishi Ha-42 available in Oct '45, while the Ki-67-Ia is available in Apr '44, and the Ki-67-Ia(T) is available in Jun '44
2. Nakajima Ha-44 available in May '43, while the B6N1 is available in Feb '43.
3. Nakajima Ha-45 available in Sep '43, while the N1K1-J is available in May '43.

Is that as designed, so that to use the planes at those dates one must research the engines?

Thanks!

John 3rd -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.1 (7/21/2012 8:46:26 PM)

Thanks for the dedicated work fellas. Have a list going by the computer. The engine observation is a major concern and might need immediate attention.

These are my oversights. With the latter two it is probably insignificant, they likely will be online in time anyway if you just leave their initial factories as they are, but #1 this might be important, without building a big factory you won't get it in time. It is the historical engine for Ki-67, though. John, I think we should fix that.

A "quickfix" for ongoing games - expand your Ha-42 factory to, say, 100 at the beginning of the game (you'll want at least 50 Ki-67 per month anyway, right?), which should give you this engine around November of 1943. Unfortunately, some potential engine production is going to be lost while your factory is busy researching, unless changes to availability dates can be applied to ongoing games.

Dan Nichols -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/23/2012 3:12:28 AM)

I have a question. I was looking at the DB and noticed that for the Omahas you made two new classes and two for the conversions to CLAA. I was wondering why you did not use the original class slots and modify them?

John 3rd -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/23/2012 7:37:59 AM)

I tried to place all the new ship classes in the same area of the Editor so they would be easier to find if we needed to check out our work on them.

Dan Nichols -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/23/2012 1:21:05 PM)

OK, thanks John. After reading Garys threat and playing you mod, I thought I might be interested in making a mod that had no basis in history or reality, but was simply a good game mod.

Two big problems:

(1)The farther we are from reality, the harder it is to keep things balanced and maintain verissimilitude.

(2)Art issues. Currently we must rely on people kindly providing us help whenever we introduce new ships or planes.

Pardon guys, I haven't checked your thread in awhile. Are you all in a pinch for a ship or plane??

G8N has its planside art, but still uses what seesm to be basically Emily planetop...

2 is not a problem, I don't expect to use any new artwork. 1 is always a problem and I hope to get things right.

SuluSea -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/25/2012 3:35:56 AM)

Hi guys, I have a top probably in some need of a little fine tuning on the alpha side. Fill me in how you people want me to do this should I insert the G8N1 into your art myself or would you like me to test the top and send it when it's finished?

[image]http://i48.tinypic.com/2nbf01w.jpg[/image]

Thanks guys!!

SuluSea -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/25/2012 2:39:35 PM)

Are you guys asleep at the wheel.[:)][;)]

The top is complete. if you all want me to insert it let me know.

DOCUP -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/25/2012 9:54:02 PM)

Looks nice Sulu.  Love the cloud cover.

John 3rd -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/26/2012 7:03:50 AM)

Does look quite nice.

Guess we better do this as small update. Does anyone else have issues or have noticed something?

Lets hold off for a day or two and see.

Falken -> RE: Reluctant Admiral 4.5 (7/26/2012 11:10:21 PM)

Hi John,

Listen, there might be a bug in RA4.6. Playing w/Kitakami, and we are in early December '41 in a PBEM, and I seem to be losing a lot of ships, planes, bases, etc. to him. Must be a bug somewhere..... ;)

Kidding aside though, just wanted to let you know that Kitakami and I are having a real good time w/RA, and I wanted to thank all of you that have been involved in this mod., and helping making it the Mod that a lot of us enjoy playing....

What he said, with one notable exception... the bug is that I have sunk to FEW ships, not too many ;P

I totally agree, there is something wrong, my ships sink, my aircraft crash and my ground troops surrender. I hope we can get this fixed.
