Micke II -> German 11th army (8/23/2012 6:02:15 AM)

After the fall of Sebastopol the 11th german army and its commander Manstein was sent to Leningrad. Its tremendous artillery with the big guns Karl and others were dismanteld because they were simply too heavy. How this feature is translated in the Case blue scenario ?

You sent them to take rostov instead :)

If you really want to be on "historic rails" about it then disband the siege guns and they will sit unused in OKH.

Yes, this is mostly true. Not all of 11th Army was sent to Leningrad, the Romanian contingent stayed with AGS. A few misc. German divs were sent to other commands on the eastern front. In fact this decision to split up 11th Army is something Manstein remarks as a severe mistake going forward. After the fall of Sevastopol and the securing of the Crimea, 11th Army was a very effective tool. It's C&C was at a high level and very well proven. If used in properly together with 6th Army, the situation around Stalingrad would have been much different. Now of course this means the AGN around Leningrad would have had less of an ability to fight off the Soviet general offensive in that area in late 42.
