Introduction In this thread I will offer people a choice of my step by step modifications instead of my whole GW II package. All of these are free to use in other mods. Credits are free to give, but not mandatory. Finished: Decal Mod v.1 This mod replaces the standard ingame decals. They can be chosen seperately. One must not simply choose all. If you like one take it. If you like all take all. If neither ignore it. GW II Character Decal Mod [image]local://upfiles/40033/34972BB791D44C4E8D2E2C6EBAAB4B25.jpg[/image] Resource Mod v.1.1 Completly revised resource system with proper galactopedia to explain their function in the world. This might help some roleplayers. Further as we all wanted the polymer is reduced to its prestate again: OIL! Note: This mod changes core files which are not supported in elliots mod folder. You need to directly implement them. Make a save file! Changelog 1.1 - Updated Gametext File to 1.7.0.16 - Removed old Resource Pictures in the Galactopedia - Changed Rainbow Gems and Radon Changelog 1.2 - Updated the mod for Universe and removed the obsolete game text file, since it is now compatible as a customization theme You can and are allowed to include it in other mods. I still want to "optimize" the galactopedia in the resource mod by linking the correct pictures into the file. Yet the VML does not take my link to the previous folder. What do I have to change? I like the resource changes a lot... except rainbow gems . Everything sounds so scientific until you get to that one.

It does not change my problem, but I will think about another option. I decided all these in the past year. I might come up with a good reason for a volcanic resource dominating modern civilization and developement.

These below have changed. Some might notice I switched Radon for Xenon in the next version. Radon was a bad choice in my opinion. I'll think about rainbow gems too. I could use their light prism picture for the Bolarian diamond instead. I finally found the time and an idea to replace the really simple minded rainbow gems on volcanic worlds. The result is again highly scientific and totally rare in the univerese... at least in this proportion. Their simpler brethren are not that rare. Overall it will be a dangerous resource in a roleplay kind of way with a lot of benefit and danger thereby allowing a 30% development boni to be acceptable.

Where did you took the idea of Stardust as a common fuel from? I seem to recall it being in some movie or game but I can't remember in which one?

All higher radiactive particles are created in a star collapse compressing the energetic neutral iron to higher weight fusion atoms through a gravity collaps. Its simply the leftovers of stars, therefore all radioactive particles weighing more than iron and used in a complex breeding reactor are stardust. Its a collective name for these particles used as a fuel.

Well can't help if you are disappointed, but I got no easter egg references in my mods. They all are based on logic, which in this case was the main factor in the resource overhaul.

Before trying to sound smart while being ignorant you should have researched your full hand. You got a bad joker in your last pair. The Caduceus is not a medical symbol on its own and was first and foremost the symbol of high priest talking for their god, later used as a symbol for negotiators and diplomats. Your people, I take it you are from America, simply took it to represent ONE medical corp in the past and from that derived it as a symbol for your medics. It is NOT its real purpose. Get over it and research facts before defying another person. For future reference how to make an argument: 1. Have a thesis based on some kind of information. 2. See if your partner in this discussion got one of his own. 3. Check if you have ANY evidence in your favor or expect to get ignored or seem like a troll. 4. Check if your partner got evidence in his favor too and prepare a counter. If you started the discussion it is your job to evaluate his position properly. You should validate his information before denying it outright. 5. Try to find common ground afterward. You went wrong at step 3. You did neither offer proof of your point and neither checked mine. I did both for you. Now troll another mod. Edit: Oh and please check your grammar and words. I am not a native to the English language and got less errors in one sentence. Actually for the Decal Mod I got 19.

I agree Kalthaniell. To Nedrear, you and all of the WONDERFUL people who take their own time and efforts to mod and make Distant Worlds stand out even better that the highly rated 4X Space Strategy game that it is I say this. THANK YOU! PLEASE ignore the less fortunate, egotistical, and otherwise rude poor souls who seem to prove they can be blind, deaf, dumb, ignorant to facts and unreasonable at the same time. It's not a matter of grammatical accuracy, logical perfection, etcetera. IT'S A VIDEO GAME! To the point, direct version; don't be riled into responding to nonsense. That's what the green button in the bottom left corner of the post is for. I've been involved with this game, this forum and many of its members long enough to know we have a excellent game. We have fantastic modders in this community and it is growing. Again, please, ignore the "bad apples" and the remaining entire bushel will excel. Haters, flame if you wish in return to my rant. Can a mod please clean up here? I will not answer any spam here anymore, only questions or suggestions for the mod. And for the record - without any special target: If someone is criticized even though he got valid points for his assumption, especially if in a judgemental, rude and totally uncivilized way, he got every right to sound smart while he proves his point. I don't want to imagine a world where everyone has to take what the loudest person says to be the truth, because he is "obnoxious" for telling his point with proven facts. In that case the world would die on the 21th December and the world goverment would rule the world while the earth is flat.

Ok, so were in modding forum and this fellow as made a nice addon to distant world legends, to him I must say good work keep it up @ Ned there is lots of work(hours) in this, lots of word coding and more etc.. We are soo few in distant world legend we shouldnt be spending time bickering over little things. Maybe he was giving distaful constructive critisism either way, is it possible you can both reconciliate your differences online and act like mature humans, no pun intended. Of course though Ned if you make something different of course there gonne be people views and opinions. that dont make them wrong or right, its just how they perceive it because we all different in realiy. anyways keep the mods rolling i like it.. The point that he got wrong was the symbolism and the history of the Caduceus. He told me I am dead wrong using it as a diplomatic symbol and how this mistake proves my idiocy and arrogance to call my free shares here as a logic infused modification because in his indoctrinated mind the meaning was different. Like hell it was, he just did not do a research about the topic before spouting angry rants. That is the main definition of a troll in the internet. So I did write the correct thing sounding as obnoxious as necessary. There is no common line in here. He made a brash mistake and got talked down for it. I gave him a constructive criticism in return how to do a discussion in the future. He only used ignorant destructive criticism which is not helpful in any way. Sorry unidteror, but I am not a friend of peace at all costs. It is not worth it. I will not act as if it never happened, because then it will happen again. I made a stand and put out the truth for all to read. This makes the critic null and void and prevents future conflict on this point unless someone wants to embarass himself screaming "the cube is round" after handing it to him. Let us all end the topic. I am still open for new mod ideas. Though I got some personel topics to tackle at the moment, which delays my main parody mod too.

I know most of the new gamers... and some of the old... might not remember it, but I updated the Gametext File for the new Universe Compilation of my Resource Mod. My old parody mod is still in single parts and I am far too lazy to update it to the new game version... so I am sorry but I might only use single nations for my personal fun. I am willing to share the race pictures though, if anyone is interested. That way you can just replace certain race pictures to have them look like one of the GW II nations.
