Speedy, you need to flat out run down south. And in the center for that matter, the entire Dnepr line is untenable. Trying to hold on to this entire area much past turn 5 is asking for trouble. You didn't reinforce Leningrad enough for my way of thinking and should have piled on the reserve armies near Pskov on turns 1-2. Now it is too late. Leningrad is a goner in all likelihood, but you can at least hold the Volkhov and keep the Finns contained up north. I hardly bother defending around Smolensk nowadays, my emphasis is up north. The first real line of resistance in the center is Rzhev-Vyazma-Bryansk, fleshed out with cadres. I like the garrison in Odessa. He's going to have to send a full German infantry corps, minimum, to clean that out. In the Crimea, there's only two points worth defending: Sevastopol and the Kerch straits. I positively welcome Axis forces diverted into the peninsula. So I wouldn't bother defending the entry points.
