And the Wildcats made a really good showing in their CAP of the Allied boats. I couldn't get my Kate's through it and as a matter of fact
they got chewed up pretty good. My Zero's need some more training evidently.

And in an afternoon air strike I seem to have gotten a lucky hit on CA Portland and unless there's FOW going on I may have sunk her.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/29/2012 8:45:09 PM)

Here's where I attach the Combat Report for today for those of you who want to see what I skipped ( a lot of stuff that happened in China,
a bunch of ASW / Sub contests, etc. ).

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/29/2012 11:23:47 PM)

Something new that has just shown up is this TF Jim has that has reached Baker Island. About 4 Allied ships just waiting for me to put
together a welcoming party for them. I'll see what I can do to make sure they feel at home.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/29/2012 11:39:15 PM)

TF 4 made it through the gauntlet of Allied subs last night and now it's carrying almost 42K of fuel to Bubble Drop. It should arrive there
in about 16 days or so.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 2:06:06 AM)

I keep finding these resources sources all over the map. Christmas Island IO has about 100K resources, and there's a fairly big cache
there at Makassar and some at Kendari. I'm going to have to get some dedicated routes set up and let the computer control them......
that would be pretty cool. I'll let you know how it goes for me. The computer controlled stuff........ Never mind.

EDIT: I finally remembered what I wanted to say about this TF. It was headed for Bubble Drop w/o any cargo aboard. And I changed it
because I figured that there was 22K+ of shipping space going to waste so I redirected them to Makassar for some resources.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 2:22:35 AM)

In all the recent re-fueling of CV's and surface escorts one of my AO's got nearly drained. The next biggest fuel hub is Truk so I'm
sending it to Truk and leaving two other AO's in the local Wake island area. My combatants are running low on ammo and some of them
need fuel and almost all of them have some damage to some degree or the other. I'm leaning toward maybe calling it a day for now,
retire to Wake and repair the ships, rearm, refuel, and recomit. Total elapsed time: maybe a week or so. By then I can maybe go
bombard Midway again some, damage some planes maybe, find some Allied ships there maybe.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 4:54:38 AM)

Here's what the strategic map looks like now-a-days. I've got my skirmishers out and float planes are searching in the appropriate
direction(s). Midway is busy, there's a contact near Tarawa and I've got my carriers headed that way even as we speak.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 5:43:29 AM)

This is what the supply / fuel / oil / resources levels look like now. This scene just cries out for more supplies and TF's are being loaded
up at Tokyo even as we speak. So in about a week or so we should see an infusion of supplies from the home islands. That and fuel.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 6:16:27 AM)

Somehow or other Rota ended up with much too much fuel to store properly and spoilage has become a problem there. So I've got a
tanker uploading fuel from Rota to bring the fuel level down to less than 3K.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 10:44:07 AM)

Task Force 336 is delivering a giant 10K+ load of fuel to Sapporo that it loaded at Shanghi. That and Port Arthur have been good
sources of fuel for the home islands so far. The fuel TF 338 has is going to help keep the HI industry going at Sapporo because it
eats fuel and TF 338 has a lot.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 10:56:02 AM)

I just now discovered the location of the 2nd China Assault Division quite by accident. How in the world did it get landed way out in the
middle of nowhere. I'm partially posting this to remind me to move some AK's up there to see if I can move it somewhere else.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 11:51:13 AM)

TF 381 is a test of the waypoint processing for me....I'm not in the habit of giving TF's waypoints that involve refueling and so I'm not
really sure that it works.....I trust it and will use it if it works. We'll find out if TF 381 refuels at Kavieng or not.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore 17Feb42 (10/30/2012 3:36:22 PM)

I was messing w/ TF 576 just now and BB Fuso is in that TF and I noticed that there's an upgrade available 6/43 and got curious as to
what kinds of changes would be made in the upgrade and looked and found that there's an installation of two radar sets one of which
has a 62 mile range. It would be about 45 days in the shipyard though and I'm not sure I want to be without the services of one of my
BB's for that long.
