ORIGINAL: barkorn45 You forget the Times cover saying "We're all Socialist Now!"we conservative knuckle dragging neandethals are the bulls in niechzches{i know i did'nt spell it right but i refuse to use spell check}theory on herd syndrome who stand outside the herd and must be quarentined and eventually eliminated lest they infect the herd. Naturaly if you want the gov to take care of you cradle to grave the people in it must possess superior intellect so as to be able to judge when to use their firearms that we the un-washed herd could'nt possibly exercise Here's an exta tidbit when the call for public education came up it was opposed because an educated citizenry was a dangerous citizenry we might think for ourselves, now we have a gov that tells us what light bulbs we can use and how much water our toilets can use! LORD SAVE ME FROM DEDICATED MEN!!! And yet, proponents of gun control constantly say to me "we don't want to take your guns, just outlaw the future sale of certain guns". All these people need do is simply amend the constitution to eliminate the 2nd amendment. I have suggested this and their response is-oh you are being silly. They don't understand the creeping restrictions on freedom with each little change in those freedoms. I caused someone to stutter last week when I angrily(faked) told him his 1st amendment right to free speech should not allow him to talk of gun control, because he was putting children of gun owners in danger(the children, the children! He said "not the same thing". Of course he wants his freedoms guaranteed, but not those he disagrees with. SIGH.[:(] Ex-Liberal playwright David Mamet recently said “All of us have had dealings with the State, and have found, to our chagrin, or, indeed, terror, that we were not dealing with well-meaning public servants or even with ideologues but with overworked, harried bureaucrats. These, as all bureaucrats, obtain and hold their jobs by complying with directions and suppressing the desire to employ initiative, compassion, or indeed, common sense. They are paid to follow orders,” Mamet wrote. “Rule by bureaucrats and functionaries is an example of the first part of the Marxist equation: that the Government shall determine the individual’s abilities. … President Obama, in his reelection campaign, referred frequently to the ‘needs’ of himself and his opponent, alleging that each has more money than he ‘needs.’ But where in the Constitution is it written that the Government is in charge of determining ‘needs’? “[Obama] has just passed a bill that extends to him and his family protection, around the clock and for life, by the Secret Service. He, evidently, feels that he is best qualified to determine his needs, and, of course, he is. As I am best qualified to determine mine. For it is, again, only the Marxists who assert that the government, which is to say the busy, corrupted, and hypocritical fools most elected officials are (have you ever had lunch with one?) should regulate gun ownership based on its assessment of needs.” “President Obama seems to understand the Constitution as a ‘set of suggestions.’ I cannot endorse his performance in office, but he wins my respect for taking those steps he deems necessary to ensure the safety of his family. Why would he want to prohibit me from doing the same?” Puliter Prize-winning playwright David Mamet: Obama's gun control policy is Marxist
