Wow. Rasputitsa season..

Btw, do you play with old or new supply?

Well Hello There Telumar dude. Thanks for the graphics, btw. Here's the game options I'm playing w/ right at the moment. I started
with no borders on but soon tired of it and opted for borders after all.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Barbarosa 41 revised (6/12/2013 3:42:45 PM)

When the supply situation is in the single digits everywhere, man. It's not great but slow attacks can be done. Lack of supply
slows things down tremendously and the previous game seemed way faster to me. I'm thinking this scenario might be balanced, from
the Axis perspective at least. I need to play the Soviet side to see if it's even possible it might be balanced w/ that side too. In that case
I would be done w/ the scenario and could publish it. Maybe I should publish it right now and make it available to you guys, in case there
was one or more people who wanted to give it a whirl.

So all you have to do is download the file, doing a "save-as" and give the file a zip file name by putting ".zip" on the end of the filename
and then when you unzip it you should see lgf_Barbarosa41.sce as a file. I've got my copy stored in the Classics folder only
because that's the folder I found the original unaltered copy in when I started this project. You could also move the file to your
WW I I / East Front folder if you'd rather.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Barbarosa 41 revised (6/12/2013 3:46:33 PM)

This is the current Axis supply situation in the lower right corner of the map. Single digits everywhere.

This is the T43 front lines. Slowly but surely Soviet units are disappearing from the right edge of the map.

And it's all over. I declare this scenario ready for playing the Axis side. Now I need to playtest this bad boy from the Soviet side to see
if it's STILL balanced from that side. If so it's ready for prime time. But first I need to run through the D-Day to the Elbe scenario
one more time for Steve. Then I'll be back here to do the Soviet side. Probably two weeks from now.

Thx for the AAR Larry, curious how it goes from a soviet point of view.
(and boy you certainly *do* play fast. I play a turn per day or so [:D] )

I am looking forward to the Soviet play-through.

Best wishes,
Steve

I play fast because I'm retired and don't have anything else to do all day than sit in front of my computer and push digital troops
around. If I wasn't playing TOAW all the time day and night then I might end up in a roadside ditch w/ lipstick on my collar and
my wallet missing.

I am looking forward to the Soviet play-through as well. Thanks very much for your best wishes. Every little bit helps.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Barbarosa 41 revised (6/20/2013 5:46:58 PM)

So now we're going to do a playtest of the Soviet side of the conflict. The object being to see if the Soviet side can possibly win this
thing. I'm not sure that Elmer will use the RR engineers I've put into the AA and HQ units to repair rail like a human would but we'll see.
This is the opening turn front lines. I predict that the Axis side will push east.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Barbarosa 41 revised (6/20/2013 5:58:56 PM)

This combat result isn't typical. Usually the combat is 100% successful from the point of view of the Axis side. The PO spent most of the
first round RBC-ing my units to get into the positions they are in for the first combat phase. These are the positions they obtained in
this part of the front lines.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Barbarosa 41 revised (6/20/2013 6:22:20 PM)

As you can see the first time the Soviet player gets a chance to move something there's not a whole lot of stuff to move. Most everything
is in garrison mode and the only thing I needed to do is set everybody to ignore losses and dig them in where they are. I notice that
Elmer didn't push his panzers toward Riga or Daugavpils and that's the first thing I do when playing the Axis side. I'm thinking Elmer isn't
in much of a hurry and if he keeps it up I may have a chance to win this thing.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Barbarosa 41 revised (6/20/2013 10:41:02 PM)

I'm seeing a lot of unrepaired rail in the Axis areas. I'm guessing Elmer isn't repairing the rails as he goes like I do. I'm guessing the
supply for the Axis is abysmal.

Steve Sill and I are playtesting his new scenario and Steve made a change to the same so I had to start over and test the change. I'm
already on turn 107 and there's only, like 400 turns so it's going to take some time to get 'er done. But don't lose hope......I've saved the
Soviet side of things in a file and can continue onward w/ this AAR no problem. And anyway, I've got my nerve trying to support two
AAR's at the same time. Yeah, I'm doing an AAR of the playtest so Steve will get all the data he needs to judge the "goodness" of the
scenario. But it's on the development forum so few people can see it. Sorry about that. I'm trying to do the same kind of AAR here for
you guys......it's only fair. I'll stop everything and do a couple of turns of THIS game to keep things going. And by the way, thanks for
keeping up w/ this AAR. I was wondering if anybody was reading this thing.
