Jim Stevens -> AI Scripts (7/24/2013 7:52:47 PM)

Does anybody know if the AI scripts have "bloody nose" logic in that if the AI gets a butt-kicking in an operation, will it just keep repeating that operation, like a raid, regardless of results?

As I understand it, and have observed, the Ai will press on with it's established goals regardless of results.

If you wipe out an invasion of Port Moresby, you can be confidant a second attempt will be along soon. If you prevent the AI from taking its current target it will not choose a new goal. Regardless of how hopeless repeated attempts might be.

You have to cooperate with the script to get a good game. If you can see it is going for PM, you have to pull out and let it win.

I had them make a run for Pearl with BB centred TF's in 42 and despite getting clobbered a bit later they came again, luckily I had good DB's and most of my old BB's ready although they did not have any heavy AP's with them, just a few LB's.

Andy's done a good job of toning the suicide runs to PM & PH down since release. The AI will try to do whatever the script is for for the duration of that script if it has the resources to do it. If there's an AI script for the KB to raid PH in 43 then it will do so provided the KB exists but may use whatever it has available.

The further along the war gets & the further things are off the reservation, the more the AI won't react to anything you do or does strange things ie "the AI is broke" syndrome.

Andy Mac would know, he made them.
