OK, so I finally entered the 21st century and bought a 60" plasma with full regalia.

What (war) movie should christen this baby (that I can download from Amazon or the like)?

geofflambert -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 2:45:16 AM)

"Debbie Does Dallas"

Commander Stormwolf -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 2:46:22 AM)

battle of Britain blu ray

Gunner98 -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 2:47:35 AM)

Zulu!

geofflambert -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 2:58:39 AM)

Zulu! should only be watched if you watch Zulu Dawn beforehand. I highly reccomend them though. Both are excellent and historically accurate.

topeverest -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 2:59:57 AM)

Ok, so let me restate the ground rules. There are kids in the house, and poppin in the oldest profession - well I cant do that at least until they go to bed.

Why not "Saving Private Ryan" on Blue Ray; "The Pacific" or "Band of Brothers" are also treated well with Blue Ray technology.

John 3rd -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 4:30:01 AM)

Bridge Too Far would ROCK on that screen!

jeffk3510 -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 4:40:42 AM)

Gettysburg.

My all time favorite movie ever made, or a Diane Lane movie..either should suffice.

blubasso -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 9:44:47 AM)

The little red circley and the seven Zero; the beauty surrounded in the wood; mustangella and the little SSmaid. They are classics...

topeverest -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 12:49:06 PM)

Zulu it was...all good suggestions to be sure!

This would be a great possibility as well. Imagine to Cannonade prior to Pickett's Charge...mmmmmm....

Schanilec -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 5:09:08 PM)

For the effects of a good depth charging....'Das Boot'. You might just head for the basement and miss the rest of the movie though.[;)]

pontiouspilot -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 6:01:00 PM)

I second Chicken boy's recomendations!!...you must however eject wife and kids from house if you have full surround sound, or, look for a good divorce lawyer.

There's only one film and one actor that I know of that can do justice to a 60" Plasma with surround sound an' $%^&.

Pearl Harbor starring Ben Affleck [&o][&o]

Lecivius -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 6:46:02 PM)

Tora Tora Tora, even on flat CD, is Da Bomb on my 92" Toshiba.

I also like walking up to John Wayne & looking him in the eye [:D]

AcePylut -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 6:46:55 PM)

Avatar would be best on that TV.

Just turn off the volume because the plot sucks. Unobtanium. Really?

This is a clear violation of the forum covenant. You will not receive another warning.

joey -> RE: OT Movies (9/5/2013 8:22:16 PM)

Saving Private Ryan or Letter from Iwo Jima.
