Build 438 of Command, aka v1.01 Release Candidate, is now available for general testing.

Download from here: http://www.warfaresims.com/RC/UpdatePack_B438.zip

*** IMPORTANT: Back up you current Command.exe file before proceeding ***

Unzip pack directly to the Command installation directory (default is "C:\Matrix Games\Command Modern Air Naval Operations", you own path may vary). When asked about overwrites answer yes.

Run the game as usual.

* Significant performance improvements both on UI map operations (zoom/pan) and sim execution.

* Enhanced stability.

* Added button "Abort Launch" on Air Ops menu. When clicked, any of the selected aircraft which is preparing to launch will abort the sequence and attempt to return to an available parking facility.

* Only aircraft that are in a parking facility can be armed (solves problem of airbase traffic jams due to aircraft being readied while on transit points).

* Added game option: Zoom map to mouse cursor location (instead of camera center).

* Added new game option: Sonobuoy Visibility. Available settings are: Normal, Ghosted and Do Not Show (not reccomended).

* Added new reference-point menu command: De-select all reference points.

* Command's hitherto mandatory high-fidelity mode (0.1-sec pulse length) at 1:1 time setting, is now optional: New game option, "High Fidelity Mode", enabled by default. To switch to 1-sec pulse length at 1:1 (aka coarse mode, similar to how Harpoon 3 runs at 1:1), disable this option. This has the effect of dramatically speeding up gameplay at 1:1 setting.

* DB viewer addition: Dedicated weapon page. Search, filtering etc. work just like any other unit type (except that country-level filtering is not available for weapons). File naming conventions for images & text
descriptions are Weapon_XXX.jpg and Weapon_XXX.txt respectively.

* While having a weapon selected on the map, clicking on the weapon-class button on the unit status window will bring up the weapon's relevant page in the DB viewer.

* Hold-fire can now be issued on multi-selected units, in addition to single units and groups.

* DB viewer improvements: Valid Targets on weapon page, per-engine maximum speed displayed on powerplant section for all platforms (particularly useful for diesel-electric submarines).

* The "Add Unit" window now remembers all selection filters used on the last unit addition and re-applies them whenever called up.

* Includes four scenarios that were previously available on the community scenario pack:

- Canary's Cage
- Choking Halifax
- Fighter Weapons School - GAT 5&6

* Includes the v394 updates for DB3000 & CWDB. New platforms & systems include:

downloaded installed and opened, started with the air training mission and there are now 2 NAS Fallon airbases, one in it's normal position and another about 20 miles northwest of the big lake. One is a training location the other is a real location. I don't recall that being there in the prior build, I recall only one airbase.

Looks like an update. We had some complaints this was very difficult for a tutorial scenario so a new starting point was likely added to move it out of SA-5 range.

Agree that was a good choice for that tutorial, I found myself scrambling my jets north at the start just to stay alive, now it's a cakewalk to intercept those boogies.

Did a search but did not see this report and not sure if team is aware, tried to join multiple groups using the G key.

Error Sorry - Joining multiple groups is not supported at this time. Suggested temporary workaround : dissolve all selected groups except one, and add all units to remaining group

Yeah you can also drop individuals by viewing unit mode, selecting the unit you want to kick from the group and pressing the d key.

What will be the effect of switching to "coarse" mode, in the heat of battle? Will weapons be missing, what are we looking at there?

So far so good, no crashes and the program has been stable so far. I was getting crashed and stop responding randomly in prior beta version after 30+ minutes of play and only when zoomed in on the action.

All accelerated time modes use 1-sec pulse length since Command's birth, so the entire code base is well-tested for this. You should not see any such problems.

Hey There,

I am seeing one problem with build 438 - I am playing first contact (57) as Soviets. for BDA status change on contact messages I am getting more than one per change. I saved it at one point where there are 20+ of the same message on the screen, naturally if you have contact changes pop-up, then you get 20+ popups.

I don't know what you need, if it is just the save file, let me know where to send it. I have seen this on another scenario with the new build also.

Wasn't able to refuel an F/A-18A with the MH-130J, which looks like it has refueling capability. Wouldn't refuel after I prompted it to, then I plunked down a KC-10 and off it went.

Gives an ArimthmaticOverflow error after selecting the side (either side)

Do you need the scenario file ? I'll load it up later if you do.

Went back to v1.0.0 exe and it loaded fine.

Great additions with the dedicated Weapon DB viewer and being able to select the WDB while a weapon is in flight.

The last thing that would make this functionality complete is being able to link the weapons on a ship and the manual attack window with the DB entry... would this even be possible? For example, being able to select a ship and from that screen being able to select a given weapon on that ship, taking me to the WDB. As it is, I have to pull up the ship DB entry, and then type in the weapon name manually. Not the end of the world, but linking would make things much easier in a large engagement.

The issue with the 'Maria and Victoria' scenario, .. where the log messages just flash on the screen, and disappear .. still exists.
