Hexagon -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (10/18/2013 10:03:18 AM)

Well, i understand it bad (language problems hehehe), but i feel surprised when i see the map art in game, i expect see terrain separate of map (a file with terrain types or a file for every terrain type) not see that terrain and maps are the same files where you need mod over maps.

Mod never is easy but are games that offer a much better "Lego" structure, you change a piece not the full construction, i dont know if when you create a map every terrain hex receive a number or something to mark an hex as "swamp" or "clear" or "field", if this is how works why dont create a folder where you can put this terrain in separate files???

I know that i sound like a [:@] guy but when i like/love something i use "who loves you will make you cry" rule [:'(]

And again great job Nick69, i expect On target sign up you for the next thing they do for FC serie, is great but with your art is superb [sm=bow.gif]

CapnDarwin -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (10/18/2013 11:35:53 AM)

Hexagon,

The modding guide and supporting OTS map art and hexdraw templates should release with the update next week and make it possible to do maps like we did. We have stated before in posts that the maps are just an image file that can be modified.

Who knows .... if Matrix Games offered me to buy all my maps lol .... .....

Yes why not, seriously? If a man can create beautiful maps, why not pay him to do it and sell it as a DLC or something like that?

It's not my business, just a crazy thought.. [8D]

Jamm -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (10/18/2013 6:08:00 PM)

I use Dropbox for my files, it works very good.
I'd like to try some mods for this in the future.
I'm afraid to purchase at the present because i'm really busy and this game looks like it could be very addictive.

JiminyJickers -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (10/18/2013 9:41:28 PM)

Incredible, thanks for your valiant efforts.

To follow other maps in this new style ....

Jeezus ... that is superb. I must admit - the game is fantastic - but I was struggling with the map art. These make it an order of magnitude greater.
Thanks for your work.

Smart man. This game is very addictive. One more turn becomes 4 or 5 before you can blink. [&o]

Good Hunting.

wodin -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (10/31/2013 8:51:15 PM)

Hex 1312 in the campaign map..above and to the left of Wezendorf should be elevation 3 where you have it as 2. It's surrounded by fields;)

Loved playing on the map though.

DoubleDeuce -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (11/1/2013 6:52:28 AM)

Man, seeing these maps makes me feel so inadequate in the map making department and I haven't even tried yet. [:(]

british exil -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (11/1/2013 11:31:15 AM)

Stunning maps. Great detail. I think you may be asked to help out with mapping for further scenarios.

british exil -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (11/1/2013 4:32:52 PM)

Nick I have both games, AT/ATG basic, DC series are good very good in fact, but these maps are by far the best.

Keep up the great work, we do appreciate it. I assume it is sometimes hard work but the results are tremendous.

Emx77 -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (11/23/2013 3:46:01 PM)

I wonder what happened with this mod? Does Nick work on other maps or he canceled everything?

no, not at all abandoned,
but I'm trying to create a map editor using a tiled version of my graphics...
I progressing well, I'm pretty satisfied with the result,
but some problems persist ....
Soon the first screenshots of the project ....

Nick, that is an excellent news. Thank you for your effort. I hope Matrix management will find some way to recognize your work.

NickGen -> RE: Red Storm Map Rework... (11/25/2013 5:13:19 PM)

Here are the first screenshots of my map editor project in action ....
The project is progressing well,
I have some terrains to make and some of the interface features
to make the editor really attractive and easy to use...
