MirabelleBenou, these are awesome!

Thank you so much for everyone who was involved with making these. Great job!

MirabelleBenou -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/25/2017 12:52:39 PM)

Thanks !

It seems to be an error in the CWDB images. The #2997 & #2998 seems to be the Bronco but it should be Mig-21 Fishbed.

ShadowB -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/25/2017 9:55:27 PM)

Great work, everyone involved! The DB images certainly look more professional now. Not to mention JPG (and 7z) compression is more sensible and the whole package's faster to download and takes up 708 MB instead of over 2 GB.

I have noticed, however, that in the case of certain items, particularly weapons, the original image appears to have been disproportionately long, and therefore the processed image "in focus" portion overflows to the right. For example, Weapon_3011, Weapon_2767, Weapon_2803, Weapon_2249, Submarine_131, Ship_1491, etc. from DB3000. There's several instances of this within CWDB as well.

My recommendation, should it be possible to amend the script further, would be to place a width cap on processed images so that the in focus portion doesn't exceed something like 75% of the total image width. That would also allow the Command watermark to remain visible in all cases and provide more uniformity to the whole package. Some in-focus bits would end up shorter, height-wise, but not jarringly so, I think.

kgambit -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/25/2017 10:10:28 PM)

Nice catch. The Aircraft_2997, 2998 and 2999 images belong in the DB3K database not the CWDB.

Excroat3 -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/29/2017 8:41:18 PM)

Quick question, is the CWDB line drawings zip supposed to be unzipped in the "line drawings" folder, even though that folder is inside the DB3000 folder?

MirabelleBenou -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/30/2017 7:11:47 AM)

No, you have to use it in the CWDB folder, in place of the "standard" images.

Only images directly in the CWDB or DB3000 are used.

Excroat3 -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/30/2017 6:23:05 PM)

So you use either standard images or line drawings? There is no both?

kgambit -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/30/2017 9:18:45 PM)

No, the line drawings and secondary images can both be used in conjunction with the primary images. The line drawings use a _t5 suffix in the file name to separate them from the other secondary images which use _t1 thru _t4.

We separated the line drawings and secondary images into their own downloads in response to concerns about the size of the image downloads.

Excroat3 -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/30/2017 10:04:33 PM)

Ok, that clears it up now, thanks.

CV60 -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (4/2/2017 8:45:49 PM)

Sorry for the delay in responding. RL is interfering with my work on Command. I'll make the changes in the next image release.

UPDATE - disregard - fingured it out. (I downloaded Command using Steam. Does that impact how I install the images package? Thanks - Jeff)

Fallschirmjager -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (5/14/2017 6:39:51 PM)

This may be a very dumb question and if so I apologize. But I am getting this game installed on my Surface Pro 4 and I am in the process of getting the descriptions and images downloaded and installed.
What is the difference between DB3000 and CWDB?
Do I need to download and install both?

Thank you

mikmykWS -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (5/14/2017 6:50:24 PM)

Yeah. CWDB is the db that covers 40-78. DB3000 covers 1979-future.

Thanks

Mike

Dimitris -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (8/31/2017 6:29:12 AM)

Much Thanks!

dingdong -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (9/11/2017 11:48:05 PM)

i'm currently working on the descriptions on the DB pack and sending my work to CV60, but CV60 seems to be very busy and not be able to respond.
is there anyone else in the project that i can send and check my descriptions with? I've currently completed about 160 desc by now. mainly units in chains of war and tutorials

Izgud -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (9/12/2017 12:01:03 AM)

I have also done a little bit of fixing that I'd like to share if wanted. I tried to post a link but I don't have enough posts yet.

Just busy. If anyone has images or write ups, PM me, and I'll edit and get them into the next update to the description files.

Are the August DB3000 Primary Images the latest?

Everything on the http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1876 link is the latest version. I'm hoping to publish an updated package around the first of the year.

Rhaak -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (11/29/2017 10:24:27 AM)

I see only a download for the primary images in that link . Where are the secondary images and line drawings ?

riflebrigade -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (12/14/2017 10:40:31 PM)

I have updated to version 1.13.6.

My Images\CWDB folder has 294 images, the Images/DB3000 folder has 4 images, the Descriptions/CWDB folder has 731 text files and the Descriptions/DB3000 folder has 2,547 text files.

Where can I download the missing DB3000 and CWDB images files which have been modified to run with all the current scenarios in the 1.13.6 update.

Would I also need to update the current Descriptions DB3000 and CWDB files to suit updated images files?

Question asked a long while back with no answer (post 351 in this thread). What's the answer? Where have the secondary image files gone?

Not sure what happened to them. THe images team will be providing an updated set of image files shortly. I'll make sure the secondary images are re-posted then.

Phoenix100 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (12/17/2017 10:04:21 AM)

Thanks.

JPV511 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (12/26/2017 5:34:07 PM)

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and had a Merry Christmas!

I just want to express my gratitude for the time and effort volunteered by the contributors of this awesome collection. Thank you very much.

I got the DB files to work properly after backing up and replacing the original files instead of pasting over them.

Looking forward to the line drawings becoming available again too.

tjhkkr -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (12/26/2017 9:18:56 PM)

To CV60 or anyone else...
I have for infantry/land/facility standard NATO symbols for some of the platforms such as self-propelled artillery, SAMS, tanks, armored infantry, and the likes. If there is interest, I can send you the symbols... I am slowly replacing them in my own DB.

To CV60, I have a couple of pictures not in the DB for MOB, and a couple of other platforms... do you wish me to send them to you?

Yes, I would appreciate it. I'll work them into the next update

To CV60,

I have found this between my boyhood books

I will attach two photos of the contents, if you need some photos I can scan them.
They are all B/W.
