The line drawings haven't changed since the last update. To be honest, I haven't spent much time with them at all for awhile. Is there much interest in the line drawings?

AlGrant -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/21/2018 7:43:30 AM)

Earlier posts in this thread offer Photoshop actions to tidy up the DB images.
Anybody who doesn't have Photoshop but wants to give the images a quick tweak could give XnConvert a look
https://www.xnview.com/en/xnconvert/ It's 100% free & no Ads.

It won't do the same job as the Photoshop action but it's easy (and quick) to batch resize, add a border and a watermark etc. Doing the whole of the DB3000 directory took less than 10mins (coffee time).
Not a massive change, but not a lot of work to do and costs nothing.

I mean the previous line drawings pack. I once downloaded it but I erased it by mistake and can not find where it possible to download it again. Thanks.

I have never used MediaFire before.

Is it safe to download files from MediaFire?

Watch your tool tip carefully...

MediaFire never fails to scare the crap at of me. Pop ups.. then tries to get me to down load another program. 'still not downloading click here' stuff which has nothing to do with the download I want.

I really appreciate all work done for this update but I'm passing for now [:(]

I reset my IE pop up blocker to High (it was on medium) and downloaded everything fine. [8D]

Thanks again for the update!

charlee22009 -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (3/21/2018 10:59:01 PM)

see the earlier post with the link to all the images. That pack should contain the original drawings plus all the line - plus some others.

:)

I'll try to get them re-uploaded to the website. It may be a few weeks

In newest description pack, in CWDB, AGM-65B Maverick seems to have description of AGM-62B Walleye.

KC45 -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (7/30/2018 9:37:19 AM)

Can I ask about mistake here?
The Facility_839/Type 93 Kin-SAM have picture of Japanese TAN-SAM, which has similar name but not same. There is a picture at wiki I think so I hope some of you can change.
Thanks

Thanks. Will take a look at that and put out in the next update. It should be out by the end of the month.

Hi,

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by doing this, but I've uploaded my own little version of the latest DB images and descriptions. It includes all secondary images and line drawings as well as the following fixes:

- Wiped out MIM-23 Hawk spam in DB3000 (you may need to delete your old DB3000 images folder for this to work)
- Aircraft_2997, 2998, and 2999 moved from CWDB to DB3000 (Broncos)
- Facility_Two-three-eight-six and two-three-eight-three swapped in DB3000 (two-three-eight-three is arty, two-three-eight-six is APC)
- Removed incorrect AN/AWW-13 description (Weapon_571) and added image for AN/AWW-9

EDIT: See below.

Regards!

For those that are interested, I uploaded an updated version of this here.

Regards

You can do it that way, but in order to be completely rid of the MIM-23 Hawk problem you will need to delete the old DB3000 images folder first. Otherwise, it should be OK.

Hi CV60

Great work. Thanks a lot.
I have stumbled upon an error. CWDB aircraft #2133 is an F-15, but it should be a Vulcan B2.

Hope this helps.

Søren

I always get those two aircraft confused[;)] Thanks for the correction. I'll make the change an put it in the December 2018 update.

Edit: Quick question: It looks like the F-15 image was previously removed from CWDB unit 2133. If you still show it, it might be because you just did an overwrite of the CWDB images with the new image package, as opposed to deleting the old CWDB images and reinstalling the September update. In the case of unit 2133, it looks like we eliminated the erroneous F-15 image, but haven't replaced it with a suitable Vulcan B2 image.

I was sure that I completely erased all the old images to make sure that the old hawk missile error didn´t reappear, but checked the download file anyway, and you are right. Aircraft # 2133 is not in the download file, so apparently I only deleted the DB3000 images and not the CWDB files.

Sorry for the false positive[:(]

Søren

PS. I send you a PM

RevReese -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (10/4/2018 10:17:26 PM)

Great work on the new databases! Thank you for all your hard work!

I was just wondering why some of the images appear to have been removed in the latest packs?

I know I am recommended to delete the existing images and replace them with the new ones, but before i do that i noticed that there were a few less images than what i already have (i only added 1 image and that has been replaced anyway).

Why is this? I would expect there to be more images not less.

Anyway, sorry for the stupid question but i am just curious.

Thanks again for your time.

The objective of the image package is to provide accurate images of the actual unit/weapon/system for the appropriate time frame for each of the database entries. For example, The USS Wasp image for 1962 in the database will be an actual image of the USS Wasp from 1962, not 1967. Similarly, a photo of Ottomat Mk 2, Mod I will not use an image of Ottomat Mk 2, Mod II. In some cases, we have discovered that images we are using are not correct, but we have yet to find an accurate image. In those cases, we usually (but not always) eliminate the inaccurate image, and replace it with an accurate one, if one is available. If one is not available, we leave it blank to remind us to continue to research the issue.

Wow, thanks for the super quick and helpful reply!
I thought that was the case but it is nice to have it confirmed.
I will be installing the updated pack tonight so am definitely looking forward to playing with it!

Thanks again!

Dimitris -> RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available! (1/8/2019 2:21:24 PM)

Steven Lohr (CV60), Kgambit and Schr75 have posted yet another gargantuan update!

The new packs contain updates and additions to the primary images, the description files, and the secondary images and line drawing files. Kgambit has been doing terrific work in ensuring the historical accuracy of the aircraft/ship/and submarine units, and Schr75 has come onboard to help with this massive endeavor.

As always, the image & description packs are available here: http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1876
