slimatwar -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/17/2020 10:55:32 AM)

I've got facility #2346 without any image and submarine #46 as in second photo(post 594).

msinnot1 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/17/2020 11:17:26 AM)

I am seeing the same. My PC is connected to the internet when playing and am running the most current version of the game. I wonder if the reason the files/pictures are not downloading is I've not played a scenario with them in it yet. Will need to find a scenario with a THAAD and give that hypothesis a try.

goldfinger35 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/17/2020 11:29:48 AM)

I just added THAAD to my test mission and no pic was downloaded.

CV60 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/17/2020 12:59:34 PM)

Hmm. I'm not sure what is happening with the images. Here's what I suggest: We will be releasing a new image set around 30 April, which will ( I believe) have over 1000 new images. I'm going to continue to work with Warfare Sims to trouble shoot in the meantime. However, for right now, I'm going to let this problem with the 30 December packages simmer for a bit, and see what problems (if any) occur with the upcoming 30 April 2020 release.

decaf -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/17/2020 1:37:04 PM)

CV60,

I've checked my ...\C-MO\DB\Images\DB3000 folder and I have a Submarine_46.jpg.
However, my image is not the one you show in your post 594. It is like
Sardaukar's.
I then brought up the Database Viewer which points at the Build 483 database.
(Note that your picture is pointing at the Build 473 database.)
When I search on "romeo mod", I only get one entry:
#46 - Type 033G Wuhan [PL-633 Romeo Mod] (China - 1985)

This is not the same database entry as your "#46 - S 351 Romeo Mod (China - 1985)"
I see the Sardaukar image I have in Submarine_46.jpg.

Just a guess, but is there some kind of database synchronization issue
associated with this puzzle? Those who keep up with the latest database
don't get updates?

Hope this helps.

This is my exact same situation!

Jumping into this topic myself. This too is what I have for this particular db item.

I don't have Facility_2346.jpg either.

again, likewise here!

hzarr6901 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/17/2020 7:19:40 PM)

Can we go back to manual downloads like we use to, or have the option to do so from Warfaresims?

+1

Sardaukar -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/19/2020 9:50:42 AM)

+1 too.

For 2 reasons:

- it's only way for people for multiple reasons who play sim without internet connection to have updated database pictures.
- it is best way to easily know if your images and descriptions are up to date or not.

goldfinger35 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/20/2020 8:29:58 AM)

I like the idea of manual downloads. BTW can users share links for images? I have hundreds of images which were missing or I found better ones.

If you have better images, please send them to kgambit an I and we may include them in future updates. If possible, include the links where you got them.

1nutworld -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/23/2020 7:12:30 PM)

I truly appreciate the work that people (CV60, kgambit, and others) have put into the massive DB that comes with this simulation, however, as I have been updating my versions of the game as they are released, one of the things I have noticed - MOSTLY because I have been looking and paying closer attention- is that with these official updates such as version 1.01.11431, the DB's both cold-war era and modern are downloaded with these updates.

Having previously noticed I don't have 'latest' updates based on certain images, like facility_2346 and submarine_46, when the official updates like 1.01.11431 are released and the DB's come with said update, I have gone and looked for those two particular images to see if my install has them, and with 1.01.11431 neither image was a part of that update.

Am I correct in assuming they are supposed to be? or am I just "making an ass"?

darkhelix -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/24/2020 10:50:32 AM)

Hi everyone,
I bought CMO a week ago and installed it but I only see the following files..
I used to have CMANO and manually update the DB, is there some way I can update CMO or do I just need to wait for the 30th April patch?

Thanks

kgambit -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/25/2020 10:10:26 PM)

@1nutworld - No you're not just "making an ass". Unfortunately I don't know (yet) exactly why the year-end updates aren't showing up. Steve's tracking it down.

@darkhelix - Based on the two screen shots you provided, I think the problem is that you may have deselected the option to display images - check your game options.

darkhelix -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (4/25/2020 10:20:05 PM)

@kgambit I can see DB images but not all of them..

Thank you for letting me know that the issue is being addressed. I know that much of the work specifically regarding DB images and such are voluntary, so the last thing I would wish is that comments be negative, and frustration mounts as though it's not being appreciated or recognized because in my opinion, being able to "see" what unit I am working with helps me feel as though I can get a better feel for what it is, how it works, and what it does, instead of just being a bunch of data that I fully can't comprehend the usage of. If THAT makes any sense- and I hope it does.

lukaz81 -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (5/6/2020 4:46:21 PM)

perfect, looking forward to...

pictures should be downloaded automatically now or should we download from warfaresims ?

Dimitris -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (5/7/2020 4:38:06 PM)

Updated image and description packs are now available on the WS downloads page!

quote:

"Descriptions" -This contains the entire description set for the CWDB and DB3000 databases updated to 30 April 2020. It is broken up into the CWDB folder (4.36 MB, 910 files) and the DB3000 folder (14.8 MB, 3154 files). Although only 70 additional description files have been added, several earlier description files have been corrected and/or had additional information added or otherwise revised.

"Images"-This contains the entire primary images set for the CWDB and DB3K database updated to 30 April 2020. It contains a CWDB folder of primary images (1.02 Gb, 5,321 files, an increase of 460 images) a DB3000 folder of primary images (2.16 GB, 11,266 files, an increase of 407 images) and a "Secondary Images" folder with the secondary images and line drawing for both DB3K and CWDB (745 MB, 8,984 files). In addition, there have been numerous images that have been either corrected, or tags added. All told, over 1500 image files were added, modified, or replaced.

The images can also be downloaded on-demand from within CMO (no manual action needed). If you wish to re-download images that you have already got (e.g. to update), delete all files in these folders:
[CMO]\DB\Images\DB3000
[CMO]\DB\Images\CWDB

The updated description files will be included in the next update release.

Big props for this new release to CV60 (overall coordinator), kgambit, Boogabooga, Goldfinger35 and RafaleKiwi.

Reg -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (5/9/2020 1:48:39 AM)

Why do we always get this uncontrollable urge to fix everything on the internet?? [:'(] [:)]

While I was trawling though the CMO downloaded images I noticed that ..\Images\CWDB\Facility_792.jpg appears to be corrupt and cannot be opened by any graphic program. Re-downloaded file was the same.

Also, ..\Images\CWDB\Ship_516 (F174 River Class Australia 1943) seems to be completely incorrect as the pic is of the 1961 Type 12 River Class. Someone has done a sterling job on ships of 1943 River class under #2141 (A245 Barcoo), #2142 (A266 Diamantina) and #2144 (A276 Gascoyne - No Image) but these images appear to be of their post war oceanographic role. You might find some more appropriate images at https://www.navy.gov.au/hmas-barcoo for #516.

(P.S. I noted the separate threads in the mod area for database corrections but does this include images??)

kgambit -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (5/9/2020 2:35:13 AM)

I was working on images for the CWDB for the next go around, so I'll have a look at the pics for Barcoo et al. I believe I have an image for the Gascoyne to fill that empty slot.

Not sure what the issue with the facility pic is. I'll check with Steve.

I think any issues you find with the images probably belong in this thread.

As an aside, just a quick reminder to everyone that the updates are always cumulative, so any images that would have been added in the previous update are in the latest one as well.

Also, I would strongly suggest that folks delete the existing images and reinstall from the new updates (or delete and let the auto-uploader reinstall). There were a LOT of images that were replaced in this last update and a few that were removed.

Reg -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (5/9/2020 4:22:35 AM)

Hi,

Thanks for your attention and prompt reply. Your efforts in turning the image library into a valuable reference resource is valued by all of us.

No one would probably have noticed those discrepancies but we can all help improve the database by pointing out the minor oversights when we run across them.

By the way, I had previously deleted my existing files so those files were the latest versions auto downloaded this morning.

If you are after more info on RAN ships the index page to the site above might be useful. https://www.navy.gov.au/fleet/ships-boats-craft/available-ship-histories

Sardaukar -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (5/9/2020 6:24:25 AM)

I can just say: GOOD JOB! [8D]

boogabooga -> RE: Updated DB image packs are available! (5/9/2020 7:33:55 AM)

So I guess that we need to move the secondary images into the appropriate image directory manually?

Do we copy everything, or are we supposed to choose between line drawings or secondary images, etc.?

I think the issue was an artifact left by the auto updater. A zero byte size file. You can see files being created in the images folder as you scroll through the database then the slots without images are immediately deleted. The rogue file has gone away now so who knows what that was. [:(]
