AZKGungHo -> RE: release date (6/8/2015 6:50:10 PM)

Thanks for the update Hubert - like SeaMonkey said those of us who've played SC for a while have faith in you and what you do. It's only matched by our desire to get our hands on it and play our brains out! But I will resolve to be patient knowing it will be worth that wait!!

TheGreatRadish -> RE: release date (6/9/2015 6:08:17 PM)

The single biggest thing I want to find out is if we can finally play as individual nations or, at the very least, split the western allies from the USSR. MP with half a dozen players, each controlling their own major, with the SC2 engine alone was a dream that never materialised but I'm hoping it can here. Sure, it could kind of be done, particularly in hotseat, but my group of old high school wargaming buddies are pretty spread out now and our recent ascent into our 30s means that we can't meet up and play for days on end the way we used to, but PBEM we can still do. 1 vs 1 is vastly inferior to the fun of 4+ players.

AZKGungHo -> RE: release date (6/10/2015 1:20:23 AM)

I agree that would be a nice addition to the game. If you are allowed to pick which nations you want to run in each side, like some other games have allowed, that would add some flexibility as well. Guess we'll have to wait a bit longer to get all our questions answered.

SeaMonkey -> RE: release date (6/10/2015 1:26:17 AM)

Have to agree TGR, team play is much more enjoyable and kind of replicates the unknown of the actual WW2 alliances. What I would like Hubert or Bill to weigh in on would be sequence of play, and the options we'll have available. While the faster/longer(timewise) Winter turns were adequate for the European sector, they just didn't quite cut it for the global play and the few actions available, especially from fast response type units(air forces), even double strikes, seemed unrealistic when compared to the grounded armed forces.

Surely Hubert and Bill have gotten that far. How about it SC3 creators, what say thou?

SeaMonkey -> RE: release date (6/10/2015 1:34:15 AM)

Heh heh, that resolve you mentioned to be patient AZ is beginning to dissolve now that Hubert has commented. Sometimes age doesn't necessarily endure in the virtue of patience when it comes to SC3. I've played Global to death![8D]

BillRunacre -> RE: release date (6/12/2015 2:01:49 PM)

Hi SeaMonkey

I would love to fill you in more, but fear that if we were to answer in any way, the information we would give would either be insufficient if it lacked detail, or alternatively if it contained full details then it could rapidly become obsolete as some details will certainly change as testing progresses (as some did recently).

I think what we can say is that we have some new features coming relating to movement that will address some commonly voiced criticism of previous releases in this series, and these new features will also dramatically enhance the way the game is played. [:)]

But it would be wrong of me to say more at this stage, and it's really best that further details are provided in an official announcement.

Bill

AZKGungHo -> RE: release date (6/12/2015 4:47:13 PM)

Thanks for the update Bill.

Now, as SeaMonkey might say, I will patiently wait for an official statement with growing impatience tempered only by my patient faith in the great work you guys do! Of course if this goes too long I may end up as a patient in a psych ward! But don't let that worry you - I'm fine - really - just fine![:D]

SeaMonkey -> RE: release date (6/13/2015 2:57:44 AM)

Damnit Bill, do you and Hubert always have to be so "politically"(gamewise) correct?[;)] Insufficient, lacking detail.?.?..really...just lie to us, we won't remember and you as administrators can always change the posts, tell us it never happened if it turns out to be misleading. [:'(] Heck we're all so distracted now a days anyway and our leaders...so called....misrepresent and skew the facts all the time anyway....LOL stands for "Land Of Lawyers".[:D]

Anyway, you guys grow some...uh... a thicker hide.... me and AZ got your back. We'll send those hecklers back to BF to buy the old SC games. It's a no lose situation, we got so many old ornery SC fans, the young-ens better think twice before they jump on our beloved developers about a few trivial misleading statements. Besides, y'all know the common response, "it's on the list, we'll get to it"![;)] DLC, right.

OK...rant off... "I will patiently wait for the official statement with tempered emotions, having great faith in the work you guys do". [>:]

BillRunacre -> RE: release date (6/13/2015 11:32:50 AM)

Thanks, and rest assured that we are really looking forward to the day when we can announce more! [:)]

I am not THAT old, just ornery! Speak for yourself SeaMonkey. [:'(]

Hang on for the SC3 ride. I am sure it will be fantastic! [8D]

SeaMonkey -> RE: release date (6/28/2015 3:47:27 PM)

Well.......... anything from HOW? Me and old pzgndr [:'(] want to know, JJ too!

n0kn0k -> RE: release date (7/1/2015 1:49:49 PM)

Was hoping to see some new screenshots or AAR at HOW. [;)]

YohanTM -> RE: release date (7/10/2015 3:41:41 PM)

Was anything presented or discussed at HoW?

TheGreatRadish -> RE: release date (7/26/2015 5:30:55 PM)

I missed this, don't think it's been mentioned here:

lparkh -> RE: release date (7/26/2015 5:44:55 PM)

Thanks for that information!

trebcourie -> RE: release date (8/2/2015 5:46:28 PM)

That's good news!

ReinerAllen -> RE: release date (8/3/2015 9:55:34 PM)

I do - so look forward to the release of this game. As you all know, this started with Strategic Command. It went through several more evolutions be before this, the current product under development. My congratulations to the fans who have support this endeavor and to Fury Software and Mr. Hubert who have continued it's progression.

KuniworthII -> RE: release date (8/4/2015 7:40:43 PM)

Now now let's all calm down in here and not rush things. Too much information will kill your mind.

Hubert Cater -> RE: release date (8/9/2015 4:24:34 PM)

Thanks Rick, and to everyone else, much appreciated :)

SeaMonkey -> RE: release date (8/9/2015 5:19:08 PM)

Hi Hubert, see your on line here. Well, is Iain right? Do you foresee a release this year?

operating -> RE: release date (8/30/2015 4:49:02 PM)

Hubert,

Can you let us know if the game will be in 2D or 3D?

Thanks, Bob

PS, This will be a better forum for screenshots than the other place.

Hubert Cater -> RE: release date (9/15/2015 2:20:49 PM)

Hi SeaMonkey,

Too soon still to say, naturally we want to be sure before we commit to dates, but progress has been good the last little while now [:)]

Hubert

Hubert Cater -> RE: release date (9/15/2015 2:22:11 PM)

Hi Bob,

The game will be 2D with various elements having the look of 3D in game, such as the 3D unit models and some of the resources such as mines, oil and cities etc.

Hubert

AZKGungHo -> RE: release date (9/15/2015 5:50:40 PM)

Can't wait, can't wait! Lately I've been disappointed by a lot of the games I've bought, but I'm confident you won't let us down Hubert! Keep up the good work!!

trebcourie -> RE: release date (9/16/2015 2:03:24 AM)

Same here--can't wait at all!!!

SeaMonkey -> RE: release date (9/16/2015 3:26:20 AM)

Sounds like you're optimistic on the current progress, Hubert. It's nice when things are moving along, having the same feelings with my projects. With Winter coming and El Nino effect in S.Tx I was kind of looking for a game to tide me over during the rainy spells, AoD is getting a little long in the teeth now.

Thought about OoB Pacific and almost pulled the trigger on WitP AE when it was offered at half off, visions of SC3 danced in my head, I resisted the commitment.

One question though, my CP running Vista is a bit "long in the tooth" also. Got a couple of gigs RAM and a 512 meg video card, so do you think it will handle SC3, or do I need to think about an upgrade?

I'm a SC3 or die fan![:D]

operating -> RE: release date (9/17/2015 10:41:03 AM)

Hubert or Bill,

First off, really like how a reader can see your whole Fury Software avatar here versus BF forums.

In either a post here or create a sub forum that gives some description of this new project?

Thirdly: Where it is going to be in 2D, is the level of zoom only going to be 3 steps? I have SCWWI and always, I mean always looking to get a one step closer look of the map, than what is currently allowed.

Thanks, Bob

Razz1 -> RE: release date (10/28/2015 3:10:15 AM)

Best version of TOF was 1.2

Stable and working.

Spent a year of my life working on that project.

Ason -> RE: release date (10/31/2015 2:18:25 AM)

Come on please give us an update on the progress of the game or something:D Will it be ready in 2015??
