Wow Baloogan, this is a great idea! It will be very useful when playing CMANO with another PC on the desk.
If there are the same infos and the same research interface than in CMANI I suppose it will be good.

mikmykWS -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/22/2014 9:33:59 PM)

I think it looks great[:)]

guanotwozero -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 2:31:11 AM)

Agreed, this looks excellent!

There are advantages to having an always-up webpage for reference over the in-game box.

I'd even suggest that, sometime down the line, the game would allow us the option of calling up the relevant webpages instead of the databox, if the links can be suitably harmonised.

Sensor arcs for aircraft [:D]

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what this aircraft is given the sensors and weapon mounts?

Answer

guanotwozero -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 6:06:37 AM)

Port-side arcs? Howitzer?

Gotta be an AC-130 gunship!

Very cool idea adding the arcs [:)]

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 6:09:46 AM)

Yup!! [:D]

Almost finished the aircraft database viewer:
[image]http://i.imgur.com/MnxBr80.png[/image]

I think I got everything aside from Loadouts... General Data, Properties, Sensors, Mounts, Signatures, Comms, Propulsion, Fuel...

Loadouts are going to be a slog lol.

guanotwozero -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 6:17:35 AM)

Yeah, but it'll be worth it once you've finished!

A big advantage of using web is that you can easily add reference links, etc, so it's very easy to extend.

Have you written extract/format code to assist, or does it all have to be done by hand?

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 6:37:13 AM)

Its quite automated. [:D] A lazy programmer is a good programmer.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 6:59:54 AM)

Loadouts!

Take a look at the Burke: http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/DataShip?ID=438
[:D]
Sensor groups, sensors inside of mounts, magazines inside of mounts all very tricky!

For ships I need to do magazines unattached to a specific mount, air facilities; then I think ships are done at that point! Aircraft are done currently too!
Tomorrow I'll tackle Subs and Facilities.

CoryC -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 11:12:58 AM)

Great work sir! Thank you for providing this.

For some strange reason I now want some pizza...

ExMachina -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 2:28:41 PM)

Wow! This is great--having all the arc info is going to be very useful

Thanks Baloogan! [:)]

Enigma6584 -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/23/2014 4:50:45 PM)

Quite impressive. [&o]

IWS -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/24/2014 1:12:50 AM)

Baloogan strikes again...

This really is an outstanding resource.
The sensor and weapons arcs are particularly useful.

Thanks!

brassem -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/24/2014 6:16:49 AM)

Superb work Baloogan! Now I can study when I can't play.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/24/2014 7:02:46 AM)

Might be time to brush up on some Submarines too! [:D]

Submarines!!

SaneStatistician -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/24/2014 10:44:13 AM)

Great stuff, as usual! [sm=00000436.gif]

CaptCarnage -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/24/2014 10:59:59 AM)

My compliments and respect.

Very nice work! And I like the structure - in CMANO I am always reading the lines trying to find max range of weapons and on your site it's much clearer :) awesome.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/24/2014 12:51:49 PM)

Land units complete!

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/24/2014 2:01:38 PM)

Check out the newest Baloogan Campaign program!
General Staff

[image]http://i.imgur.com/K5rBs71.png[/image]

[image]http://i.imgur.com/qOkpDyg.png[/image]

It reads the autosave that Command provides and gives you a list of all the units in the currently playing scenario in Command. When you double click on an entry it will open up the new Online Database Viewer to that unit's page!! Only works for DB3000. :)

Available now! http://baloogancampaign.com/baloogan-campaign-launcher/

Under type it shows:

DDG - Guided Missile Destroyer (1955-)
What does that (1955-) mean? Something other than the year available I hope.

I guess that is quite confusing now that I look at it. That (1955-) is the era in which the Guided Missile Destroyer designation was used, starting with when the Farragut-class was first designated in 1955.

The year available shows up in the Unit Title "#438 - DDG 51 Arleigh Burke [Arleigh Burke Flight I] -- United States (Navy), 2008-0, SM-3, AEGIS BMD" where it says 2008-0.

Here is what the same Burke looks like in the Command database viewer:

I'll modify the online database viewer to be more clear about available date, say, I could put it under the "Pier/Dock/Davit" entry in the general data section.

RoryAndersonCDT -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/25/2014 12:06:06 AM)

Can anyone post what this looks like on a tablet/mobile platform? I don't have a tablet to see what it looks like. [:)]

DROregon -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/25/2014 1:34:22 AM)

(Newbie question)
How does one know the Helo capacity of a ship (eg. DDG) without looking at the picture?
I can't find answer by looking at database stats.

I have not yet added Air Facilities to the online database, its my next task : )

In the command database viewer its under "AIRCRAFT FACILITIES"
[image]http://i.imgur.com/TSG2ZbF.png[/image]
Eg, this ship can berth 2 medium aircraft, and launch one at a time via its pad.
I plan to have much the same interface on my site for Ships and Facilities.

Dock facilities, like some landing ships have, is a very low priority for me. [:)]

DROregon -> RE: Online Database Viewer (1/25/2014 2:08:21 AM)

Got it. Thanks!
