Board 2 was saved as individual panels. But it didn't work. When either panel(mpp file) was loaded to either the Xcompleteblankmap or the Xblankmap no terrain data loaded. I'm sure all his maps can be saved as individual panels...the problem is they don't load any terrain data or LOS polygons load in the editor.

I tried everything...loading his hill253.5 map file..removing all the units...but none of the mpp files from the stock game will load properly. So I can't add panels to the hill map.

What software do you use to create such great artwork?

fran52 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/23/2014 10:50:37 AM)

Photoshop or something similar.

laska2k8 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/24/2014 9:49:56 AM)

I think that we must wait for the 1.08 editor release and than create single mpp map files, so it's easier to make new scenarios.
Also could be useful to have a sticky in the 'mods' forum to keep it all together.

jonj01 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/26/2014 3:34:23 AM)

The new version of editor still wont load your (ASL map2)mpp files. However I did find a way to use one of the mpp files.
1) I loaded scenario hill 253.5
2) deleted the ASLbc0002b pane (mpp file)
3)saved the scenario as a map file (the map file only has the pane ASLbc0002a in the map #1 slot on the map info window)
4) reloaded it...
5) saved it as a mpp file.

You have 8 bmp files for the first 4 maps of ASL. If you can save them as individual scenarios (map files) each bmp file in the map #1 slot of the map info window of the editor program. Reload each of them individually ..to make sure you didnt' lose data ....then save them as mpp files. Then the community can use all of your maps.

Attached is the ASL002a mpp file and a scenario map file using that mpp file in all 9 pane positions. It works. If you can do the same for the other 7 bmp files we would have all 4 classic squad leader maps to use for scenarios...

Thanks

thanks, as soon as I can, I create the new mpp files for the remaining maps.

laska2k8 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/28/2014 11:12:48 AM)

added download page for maps 1,2,3 and 4 (bmp + mpp)

jonj01 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/28/2014 2:43:13 PM)

Excellent job laska,

You almost doubled the usable map panels for the game. A real thing of beauty.

laska2k8 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/28/2014 3:28:02 PM)

added new scenario Land Leviathans, base on map 2,3 and 4

fran52 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/28/2014 3:41:58 PM)

Laska but,if i'm not wrong,this scenario requires AFV that are not in the game.How have you solved the problem?

laska2k8 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/28/2014 3:51:18 PM)

simply exit three vehicles, AFV stands for 'Armoured Fighting Vehicle'

fran52 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/28/2014 7:54:42 PM)

Yes AFV means that,but in the original scenario the Russian AFV are Bt5 and T26 against PzIII and PzIVD,all 1941 tank.

jonj01 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/29/2014 6:38:18 AM)

Played the Land of Leviathan scenario as russians....against AI...fun..the Su-122 long guns kinda kick the crap out of the german tanks. Eliminated the entire german force by turn 5 on hard setting, lost 1 light tank t70, 1 armored car, 1 t34, and another t34 abandoned. Just ran the light tanks out to take fire...then assault moved the su-122s adjacent to german tanks and blasted them. Also overruning the german squads out in the open was almost as frequent as movement. The AI is pretty stupid about avoiding overruns by ending a squads movement in woods or buildings when there is much armor.

I would seriously beef up the german armor in this scenario with AI german and human russian, seeing as you have the germans basically moving towards the russians.

Still a fun play, thanks laska

yes you're right, there's some work to do also on counters but I prefer to wait until we have a separate folder for each customization with more entries.

In the meanwhile there's so much to do with maps, and I wish to make some fictional scenario fun to play.

Beautiful work Laska.Could you post the single bitmap?Or is available on your site?
I post some counters for future scenario found on different sources.

maitrebongo -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (3/31/2014 4:46:16 PM)

Hello,

As you can see, i have done some kind of organisation for new units and posted (for now) graphic files for vehicles in different nations on this tread :

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3582805

I'm still working on infantery and weapons counters

By the way, VERY GOOD JOB Laska2k4 ; i played yesterday some of your scenarios, it was a real pleasure.

Regards

Bongo

Bongo,
I checked your thread there are no graphic files...you pasted some pictures...but the bmp files are what we need.
Could you post them in an attachement.

Thanks
Jon

Laska,
Could you post any bmp files you have for vehicle counters, I can tell your vehicles look better than mine. Also if you want to post the units.csv that would be great as well.

Thanks
Jon

laska2k8 -> RE: Laska2k4 scenario thread (4/1/2014 7:59:12 AM)

thanks, now I'll put a new page for collecting new units.
In the meanwhile I added four new units for the landing leviathans scenario (the link is the same on the first post) be careful that the units.csv and the sprites.csv in the custom scenario contains the changes and can overwrites yours. Also it contains the bmp for the new units.
In the scenario I defined FG hexes in the southest hill (fire group) and it seems to add more punch to AI side.

thanks great job, we must pay attention to do not work on the same counters [:D]

I suggest to using specific numeration for the sprites and units id, let me know if you agree

Great job also your job.Thank you Laska.

added scenario "The Dead of Winter" on the first post (with the new map 4 winter edition)

As i say in another thread, i think that it will be a good idea if we unify our works and find together a naming system for our files.
I think these files must be usable for any of scenario's authors and for that we must create BMPs countersheets and units.csv files the more exhaustive as they can be. That's why i'm trying to include ALL the existing counters on this thread :

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3582805

For the moment, i have sort them by :

First : by Type : Vehicles, infantery, weapons (as it is sorted in the original HOS computer game)

second : by era (in this thread it is World War 2 but i suppose that in the futur there could be WW1, WW3, Civil War, Star Wars [X(], and so on...)

Third : by nation (and i suggest that for every new nation we sort it in "Axis" or "Allied" side because we can add only 2 new nations to the nation.csv file in the custom folder.

Furthermore, i suggest to name the BMPs files producted with this 3 informations and a consecutive number.

Also, we have to create a centralized and shared units.csv which concentrate these works in a unique file.

Like that, we can offer to the scenario's author the possibility of creating almost every scenarios on the entire war and on every frontlines they could want.

As you have seen, i'm doing the same with the maps i can find here and there.

If we don't do this, and if every scenario's author do his own BMPs nations.csv and units.csv files for a single unique scenario, it will be very soon an incredible mess on our computers...

Bongo,

you are correct.

I've got all the counters for WWII that work in a central Custom folder (counter pack 1.1). If I missed any WWII counters let me know..but I've been grabbing every scenario and integrating all the new counters in the that pack. USgrandprix..has all the counters for Modernbattles. I'll try to stay on top and add new counters to the WWII stuff. I posted the counter pack on your thread and again on mine. If we just keep a division of labor....You and Laska doing the Art, I'll do all the excel work, and Usgrandprix can keep up with the ModernBattles...I think we will be fine.

I'm going to continue to make units.csv for all the counters you posted(Already have one brit and one US vehicle sheet done).

Just let me know when you start work on the unit.csv , sprite stuff. You tell me what your working on...and I'll work on something else.

thanks.
