If curious find my old thread vs Adm Nelson for how this was done and the glory that soon followed Japan's CAUSE!

Scenario 2? Otherwise it seems like you would have to rob China.

It was an RA Campaign where I took out the Philippines really EARLY. Additionally, Lew made the mistake of forward deploying his Aussie ID up near Darwin. When I saw those ID up there, I purposefully slowed my advance towards Darwin and planned the haymaker at Port Kembla and Newcastle. The initial landings consisted of 6-7 ID, Tanks, and the Paras. Once I had Sydney I was then able to spread out and drive down to take Melbourne. It was a lot of fun to see if it could actually be done. Think I had ALL of Australia in December of 1942.

Yes. I did buy our several ID from China/Manchuria to help.

Big note of caution in considering this. The Garrison Requirements in Aussieland are HUGE. You will need to bring in Brigades to hold towns to free up your IDs for fursther work.

Right, maybe with RA but this is DBB "scenario 1". I doubt that is possible. I think we have to stick with isolation and bombardment.

Has to be pretty fast too, before the whole prace is crawring with P-39's.

John 3rd -> RE: A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere (4/21/2014 4:23:05 PM)

Makes sense. Remember though that RA doesn't have a stronger IJA. It is the same as Scen 1.

Isolating is what I am trying in my current game. Has great potential to work but you need a BOATLOAD of Emily--Mavis for Air Search. It is a current issue I am experiencing.

You not need more Japan-mens. You destroy 20% of his AV in first attack and knock forts to 0. Two more attacks should do it.
Maybe rest after second attack before bringing out katana and wakizashi for third attack. [sm=00000007.gif]

Singapore, British HQ, Gindrinker Hotel

Gen. Percival Ah, Mr. Cheatham! Thank you for coming so quickly! Mr. Mindbender recommended your firm!

Mr. Cheatham of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe Law Corporation (1941 D) We have a very close association with Mr. Mindbender. Always pleased to answer a call
to assist another suck... ah, client. What can we do for you General?

General Percival We need your help dealing with one of the horrors of war to ensure it never happens again! Did you hear about the Japanese attack on Mersing?

Mr. Cheatham of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe Law Corporation (1941 D) I did, but I have no idea where that is. Did they do something nasty there? Bayonet babies? Behead prisoners?

Gen. Percival No, no, nothing as common as that! Those BAHSTARDs actually invaded Mersing on the first day of the war! Interrupted the Malaya-wide dart tournament, amongst other evil disruptions.
This is just not cricket! How can any commander keep up morale if they are allowed to get away with this!

Mr. Cheatham of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe Law Corporation (1941 D) I think I see the reasons for the morale problem now, but what can we do about it?

Gen. Percival I want you to go to Geneva and see the people looking after the Geneva Conventions. Persuade them that the Conventions should be amended to prohibit unsporting conduct and gameyness!

Mr. Cheatham of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe Law Corporation (1941 D) I see, General. But the Japanese have never signed the Geneva Conventions. How will this change help?

General Percival When those little upstarts impale themselves on Singapore's defences next week, we shall demand the unconditional surrender of their nation, and try the perpetrators of this ... this MERSING GAMBIT
abomination for their war crimes!

Mr. Cheatham of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe Law Corporation (1941 D) Ah, very good, General. I must advise you though that such an undertaking will be quite costly. The Germans and Italians seem to have Switzerland quite
surrounded, and we must pay dearly to fly there from Spain. Then there is the high cost of rental vehicles ... that's hire cars in your parlance ... and gasoline ... petrol. Are you prepared to meet a substantial payment up front
for our services?

Gen. Percival Well, I happen to have a substantial ownership interest in an upscale bar in Penang, with beautiful female servers who wear minimal attire, if you get my drift ...

Mr. Cheatham of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe Law Corporation (1941 D) I'm sorry, General, but given the current state of the market in Malaya, we cannot accept any real estate there as collateral. Do you have another method of payment?

Gen. Percival [visibly wincing] I hate to part with it, but I also own a beach club called "Sandals" in the Caribbean. It has everything for young patrons - great bar with slightly more attired staff, beautiful sand beach, a casino ...
there's even a massage parlour!

Mr. Cheatham of Dewey, Cheatham and Howe Law Corporation (1941 D) That should be satisfactory, General. Thank you for your business.

Gen. Percival Oh, very good! You must be on your way quickly now to get those measures on the books before we totally defeat these little yellow vermin! Say, before Christmas. Off you go now! Pip-pip!

I was at my desk chipping away at a pile of paper when I got to thinking about where the dang Jap CVs were after a sighting 48 hours ago, when the thought occurred to me to peruse some forum AARs and have a coffee. In walks a new customer, wants to do a scope review, I tell him to have a seat, I'll be done in a minute. It's at this point I get to the above post,.....I had to excuse myself.

I am guessing Monsignor Manlizard performs a reverse Brave Sir Robyn and pull back his forces to the Capital area, encouraging the Chinese to move east, across the river, and overextend their lines thus enabling a quick strike mobile force to punch through their thinner extended lines and begin a grand encirclement.

Why not - he was actuarry considering invading Tazmania......
