Lets see, the staff car has changed (twice), and so has the motorcycle, (twice) and the seasons (24 times) and I'm still a noob.

Every August we have a get together at our house for an internet group my SO and I belong to (Myers Briggs personality type related, she and I are the same type). My SO likes to have a theme every year. For 2012 we had an end of the world theme. I made a rather large cake in the shape of an Aztec pyramid and she put cherry jam running down the steps. She's part Aztec and likes to get in touch with her cultural roots.

Another year she wanted to do an alien beach party and got this vinyl wallpaper thing that looked a lot like the shore bombardment screen in AE. I suggested putting little tubes sticking out of the foliage and she said OK, but I didn't get around to it. While she's decorating, I am usually tasked with more mundane things like making sure the lawn chairs aren't covered with bird droppings, making sure people can get to the beer fridge and other such things.

The guy who was helping us get set up thought my suggestion for adding CD guns was really out there. My SO just thought it was kind of funny. She once had a band that did parodies of 60s music called Venus Envy and the Flytraps. They actually had a minor following in the local club scene.

My daughters are both at the dating/college age and I jokingly told them I was going to put a Howitzer on the lawn to let the guys know that if they mess up, I'm going to MESS them up.[:D][:D][:D][sm=00000054.gif]....GP

Now George, temper, temper.[:D] BTW I'm glad I'm past that stage.[sm=00000028.gif] She's married and they just bought a house (and he's a good kid).

Glad to hear your daughter married a good kid.[:)] There are not many out there. I figure I have about 3 to 5 years before my daughters get married.

I met my wife in HS. Over 30 some odd years ago. was the 7th or 8th girl I had dated at that point. My wife and I had a few of the same teachers and even to this day, we are friends with one of them. They have even spent time with my kids when they were young as well....GP

Ahhhhhhh....my wife was a college student of mine....

I was getting divorced and VERY angry over that. Didn't like the FAIRER HALF at that point. Paula told her friend (when I walked into the classroom back in the fall of 2000) that "I'm gonna marry that man." TRUE story. She pursued and we got married 18 months later and that is now 14+ years ago. Life is pretty strange...

Paula 'tolerates' my addiction to AE. The thing that scares her is my 10-Year Old wants to learn how to play it. He can identify ALL the different American WWII fighters and knows the difference between an Oscar and a Zero. Is THAT when you are an addict. You pass it on down a generation???

No, that is being a great Dad. Long after the wheel of time has ground all of us reading this tread today down to dust, hopefully your son will have a warm memory of something he shared with you when seeing "ancient" documentary films of a war more than a century past and in his turn pass that on to his children.

Immortality comes from being remembered.

Your a lucky man having a kid interested in AE. My oldest daughter is interested in military history to a point. She did want to go to the airforce museum the last time she was out here. We went and spent a lot of time in the world war two display area talking about different things. She has watched Band of Brothers with me several times. Both of my daughters played and were very good at Call of Duty. My youngest played a couple of games of Campaigne series, west front with me. DanSez is correct....GP

John read Rising Sun, Falling Skies a month r two after I did and he LOVED it. The kids actually understood everything written. His commentary was excellent and his reaction was--this is pretty depressing Dad!

I was wondering if it's possible to add more time to the day? I figure I need at least another 4 to 6 hours for AE time.[:'(][:D][;)][8D]. Or maybe just a therapist.[sm=00000289.gif]....GP
