CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/18/2014 3:17:37 PM)

We do plan on adding in missing or improve the detail level of a number of abstracted models in the game over time. Each update thus far has had enhancements and bug fixes and the next major release will have more of the same. We want to continue to expand the game and we also hope to see more scenarios and other mods flow out of the 2.04 update from the community as well. The open scenarios should help folks with a way to jump in by making variations based on the originals and then hopefully branch out into new material (or time in the 80s).

We continue to welcome your ideas and inputs and hope to keep providing you with a top notch gaming system.

Well, but dont make the same mistake like other dev. Its a great game but with some thinks i did not like. Missing SOP or holf fire command. For me the missing things make me having less fun when playing the game, sorry to say. And buying a new game just to get the features Iam missing, well, for me hard to take. Anyway, I liked the game.

Hexagon -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/19/2014 8:57:48 AM)

Thats great, the base game is incredible complete to be a 1.0 version, improve it is allways wellcome.

Ummm i find a screenshot of new game in a web... any problem in upload it here??? there are other screens from other future games to...

Tazak -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/19/2014 9:31:14 AM)

No question about buying the new title, either as DLC or entirely new game

I'm hoping for improved engineering features (placing mines/obstacles, building improved positions or needing a engineer unit to blow bridges) and a host of scenario/campaign designer features and maybe a few years extra to the timeline (1970-1979).

Hexagon -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/19/2014 9:51:20 AM)

Well, i prefer a DLC/add-on/expansion system because you have a single instalation with all OOBs and maps ready to be used with editor... i say in other post that for example with this you can have Fulda gap with french troops VS east germans for example [:)]

The new game looks great and i like the new interface colours i feel they add a more "mature" taste to teh game and map elevations are a great improvement now only need a little better urban art [&o]

The article, is in french but...

This [;)]and it's the third full version of the game in the same region of the world.

Love the second version a lot, but buying another full version at full price?

WABAC -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/20/2014 2:06:57 AM)

I don't really want the team involved in writing scenarios I'm too lazy to actualize myself.

I want more design tools, and more granularity.

Might as well make it extensible and robust while you're at it. [:'(]

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/20/2014 2:11:27 AM)

WABAC,
What kind of design tools and what level of granularity? We are already very extensible and getting more robust by the day.[:D]

One thing I'd like to see is the ability to add sub-units in the sub-units section (see screen shot), we have the ability to delete sub-units but having a pop-up menu of all/any sub-units or only sub-units that are part of the unit to enable us to increase/'un-delete' would be great

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/20/2014 1:57:00 PM)

Tazak, Rob and I had a discussion this weekend about having the ability to do something similar to that. I was talking about adding a way to swap subunits around inlet wee formations and also having a way to click on a unit and bring up a selection menu to change units on the fly. We will be discussing this more at Origins in 3 weeks.

What is it about the scenarios you don't like? Since I'm the only one that is writing scenarios that comment just affects me and my position on the team.

Good Hunting.

WABAC -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 5:23:56 AM)

love the scenarios you have written MR. Played all of them. And that's where I'm at. Played all of them several times now.

I love the engine, but I'm not really *playing* the game much these days.

That's why I am using the tools provided to put my energy into maps, OOB's, TOE's, and new scenarios. And I want more tools (more elevation levels really) because it's part of the fun for people like me, and because no single scenario writer can keep this game afloat given the 14 hour time frames.

Your mileage may vary.

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 12:37:24 PM)

Wabac, you do know we have 10 levels available right now. How many are you looking for?

wodin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 5:33:24 PM)

Not to keen on the counters in the screenshots. I prefer just a plain background. Will the game come with a choice of styles?

TheWombat_matrixforum -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 5:40:50 PM)

Eh, I like the blue and red counters; beats trying to discern between two close shades of blue.

wodin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 5:55:46 PM)

It's the maple leaf I wasn't keen on. Stripes are fine though prefer it to be abit thinner and across the middle.

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 6:07:44 PM)

Easy enough to spin your own counter backgrounds. It is just a graphic file in the national data folder.

z1812 -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 8:17:03 PM)

Hopefully there will be a choice. I also prefer the current ones.

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (5/21/2014 8:59:10 PM)

In the shot are the current backgrounds for the Canadians and the Czechs. I Have ones for East Germany, France and Poland worked out too. As I said if it doesn't work for you make one of your own to replace it. I'm sure we will see flat colors sets and then symbol style sets by the time the game ships from modders. My concern is having the unit sils and info show clearly and that each side is visually distinct since we will be working on having more than one force on a side in 2.1.

I'll buy it whatever it is called. This project deserves support.

As long as user-created TOE's, maps, scenarios, etc., can be imported into the new engine I'll keep plugging away on my projects when I have the time.

Count me in. I'll buy what this team is producing. I'm interested in and excited about another Cold War era entry. I have a lot of WWII games already. If anything, I'd like to see games that are set in today's timeline.

Well . . . for the current things I am working on I really like the idea of small forces operating in large areas. Gives side 1 more to think about and side 2 more options. And after this I want to start on 80's Norway. So . . .

Just looking at my first map I only had to cheat a little to make nine levels work with 50 meter elevation changes. But the trade off is that everything east of the Streu and south of the Thuringer Wald is mostly on one level. But ideally a location like OP Echo is 25 meters above the surrounding terrain.

A whole lot of military history involves people fighting over a few extra meters of altitude. I'll never forget seeing Cemetery Ridge after so many hours playing the old AH game. I was expecting more of an actual ridge such as can be seen around Fort Davidson in SE Missouri.

I want the extra levels bad enough that I would be willing to enter the hex values by hand and come up with my own colors.

Hexagon -> RE: New Title Announced. (6/7/2014 4:51:42 PM)

A little question, you plan do an "open" beta??? i miss the other beta [:(]

Thanks.

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (6/7/2014 5:40:12 PM)

There's a good chance we will have an open beta when the time comes. We will let you know.[8D]

zakblood -> RE: New Title Announced. (6/7/2014 5:49:45 PM)

hopeful be free for the next one as well :)

budd -> RE: New Title Announced. (6/8/2014 6:08:30 PM)

How about including the original old game thats discontinued with the purchase of the new game. After playing campaigns i check on the status of the old game and found it was discontinued and not for sale. I wanted to check out the evolution and see what features were in that game and how they worked, particularly the stand off range. If priced right i would of bought it.

MikeAP -> RE: New Title Announced. (6/9/2014 2:02:50 AM)

No new terrain art for the new release?

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (6/9/2014 2:25:53 AM)

Budd, I'll see if Erik knows of any copies left laying around.

CapnDarwin -> RE: New Title Announced. (6/9/2014 2:29:44 AM)

MikeAP, we don't know yet. It depends on some testing we will be doing after we get back from Origins this week and get 2.04 out the door.

Thank you sir, just thought it would be a nice PR selling point for the new game. Command ops did this with the old HTTR.
