dodger -> It's over (4/11/2004 6:18:09 PM)

The final game between myself (Fin) and Scharfschütze (Rus) in Feb '40 has ended in my victory. Points were 10062 vs 2749, though the difference in points does not do justice to Scharfschützes effort. Thank you to all my opponents, and I mean it. There were no easy battles, there were just some battles that were not as hard as others. It's been a long road to this point. I started this World Cup '03 thinking that I should make it out of the first round of cuts. Winning, especially by using Finns in the final, was just a farfetched dream of those moments of weakness when a man let's his imagination run ahead of his abilities. Atleast now one issue can be laid to rest, the myth of ski troops being crappy. They are mobile, agile and mean. And when used aggressively can create local superiority of force where the enemy least expects it. And once they break through, the enemy has little hope of outrunning and regrouping. And as an added bonus, any Finnish ski trooper can be motivated to feats of heroism by promising a free loot of any alcohol found on dead enemies once the battle is over [;)] -Jani
