FO's and movers can go outside of the points allocation. Ammo dumps are expensive, but they eliminate the need for more guns and/or restrictions on firing, so if you need them I'd say they go within the limits.

Then again, an additional ammo dump vs. a company of infantry or a couple of extra tanks? Prioritizing one's purchases limits the amount of ammo dumps anyway. And they are juicy targets! :D

Eh..so.. I guess I can go with both alternatives.

Gary, I hope you don't feel like I've personally attacked you. I can only provide my thoughts based on my experiences in the first WC. So, since I didn't really lose to anyone else, my thoughts on improving the next one are mostly based on that loss. I can't really gripe about the wins I had can I? :) [/B][/QUOTE]

RB nah don't take much personally except for being beat. :D :D :D

Okay, As my two countries I chose:

1) USSR
2) Germany

dodger -> (2/16/2003 2:53:08 AM)

One more thing.

Is everything allowed that's not expressly forbidden? Can you use forts to protect your rear in a meeting engagement, drop paratroops, use ski troops in summer, etc..??

I plan to play Finland, and they didn't have "Ski troops" that they only used in the winter and mothballed for the summer. Finnish ski patrols were regular infantry that was equipped a little better, and maybe chosen from the better elements of companies.

I don't think that you can buy forts in a meeting engagement. As for paratroops, they need air transport if they are to be other than ground troops. You would be advised to clear this up with your opponent as to whether Air transport is part of Airstrikes or not. I would not spring this on someone I was playing.

Ski troops? Why not? but ask Rbrunsman about them first.

For those of you confused about major-minor countries, read the rules again. You were asked to pick two countries to alternate between.

Buzzard45:

Actually Soviet Union have a some kind of Gun Casement in meeting engagements, but It's not very useful, just waste of points...

red -> (2/16/2003 3:58:21 AM)

Meeting engagement by its nature doesn't allow for fortifications.

Hades -> (2/16/2003 5:18:51 AM)

Well if it is a high vis map and you have a big hill for overwatch they could be quite useful

red -> (2/16/2003 5:24:19 AM)

Hades, have you reconsidered your minor country choice yet? May be Finland at least?

Hades -> (2/16/2003 5:42:47 AM)

sure ill go with finland
may the sissi squads rule the day

AngryDeemon1 -> (2/16/2003 5:46:05 AM)

Hey red once i kick all of your sorry butts do I get a cool t-34 shirt like Viking did?

red -> (2/16/2003 6:24:38 AM)

Actually, I do have another one like that but I thought this time it should be something different, othertwise it'd be kinda bad if VikingNo2 got the same shirt again. :D
