pjb1 -> OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 5:29:21 AM)

New scenario for play testing. Not sure if runway damage percent is correct for runways to become inoperable. Any input is appreciated.

Had to reload scenario. Forgot to add EW sites.

Rekm41 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 10:09:05 AM)

It shows up in list of scenarios but when I click to load it nothing happens.

Are you using the latest public version? (Build 521).

pjb1 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 10:13:25 AM)

Hummmm, let me check it could be because I made it with the beta version.

Rekm41 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 10:17:56 AM)

yes latest update. Does the same with Editor. Takes me back to the world screen.

Tomcat84 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 10:33:33 AM)

It's using DB3K build 415. Dont think that is public yet.

Rekm41 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 10:38:25 AM)

How do you know what Database version you are using?

Tomcat84 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 10:51:03 AM)

Open the scenario in the sceneditor, go to "editor", "change database", you'll see the list of databases you have and a check mark with the one thats active.

But if you change it youll erase the whole scenario. Theres no downgrading I believe.

And it leaves off with your last one used (unless restarting the program) So when building a new scen always check to make sure you have the right one selected.

Rekm41 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 11:06:25 AM)

Thanks. I go to 413.

pjb1 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 11:07:03 AM)

Yes my bad I made this scenario with the Beta Version, will just have to wait until new upgrade is released. Sorry brain lock on my part.
Can someone please delete this string will re-release this after new public release comes out.

Rekm41 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 12:02:11 PM)

Where is 414? As I mentioned I go to 413.

Dimitris -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 12:10:44 PM)

Hello,

Versions v414+ of the DB3000 & CWDB databases are included on the next public build, which is currently under intense testing & refinement on the beta forum. We hope to be able to release this version soon. Thank you for your patience.

Rekm41 -> RE: OPLAN 5027-14(Testing) (5/29/2014 12:15:55 PM)

No problem. Just wanted to help you test the scenario.

Ok, here's some input. I'm going to be critical, because this scenario has a lot to criticize. The whole thing is extremely cluttered-the airbases are multi-unit, and there's a huge quantity of aircraft around. The briefing and times imply a limited Osirak-esque strike, but the scenario's set up for the first several hours of a peninsula-wide war. My computer could barely run the scenario even if I did nothing but turn on a radar.

Post-1991 Korean War scenarios are not really suited for Command, and it's little wonder you boosted their strength by giving them modern Chinese planes and a ton of MiG-29s. (In one of my unfinished scenarios, I had to do the same.) The problem is that what conventional capacity the KPA has left doesn't lend itself to an easily effective scenario, so you have to either add ahistorical components or make it really creative.

If you wanted a limited strike, I'd suggest walling off the rest of North Korea with a no-nav zone and only putting in the defenses around the target area itself, and having your forces stage from single-unit airfields (or carriers) with no extraneous defenses. That should save a ton of resources and significantly reduce the unit count. If you want a Second Korean War, I'd say focus on a limited aspect of it, like a rescue mission or close support (to be extra-challenging, make the latter from the KPAF side.)
