FrankHunter -> An upgrade (5/31/2014 3:55:12 AM)

Hello, not sure if anyone is here but I'm almost done an upgrade of Danube. I've rewritten it to use the interface from the Elbe game which allows for different screen resolutions and just all around better smoothness.

Kai -> RE: An upgrade (5/31/2014 5:15:45 AM)

Awesome! Can't wait to implement it.

What is the Elbe game? Is this the Volume II we've been waiting for?

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (5/31/2014 5:35:16 AM)

Yes it is, thanks

zgrant -> RE: An upgrade (6/1/2014 12:14:54 AM)

Frank,

This is great news! Looking forward to another great game. Can you share any screen shots, or give us any more details?

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (6/1/2014 3:03:03 AM)

I still need to get an artist to make me some new buttons. At the moment I'm using blanks while I get everything working.

Gribeauval -> RE: An upgrade (6/1/2014 12:29:17 PM)

Hello Frank, will this new patched version of CLGA volume 1 be compatible with Windows 7 ?

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (6/1/2014 5:29:54 PM)

Yes absolutely.

Agathosdaimon -> RE: An upgrade (6/3/2014 9:53:10 AM)

Thats great. The resolution probs with cotd have been its only drawback for me as it doesnt fit my laptop resolution and most options result in the lower interface being inaccesible off screen.

Wait you mention the Elbe game - which is volume 2 is this far off?

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (6/3/2014 3:25:58 PM)

I'm hoping Elbe will follow Danube pretty quickly but I'm not positive.

sullafelix -> RE: An upgrade (6/4/2014 4:50:45 PM)

May I bear your children?[:D]

Seriously, excellent news.

demiller -> RE: An upgrade (6/5/2014 3:25:03 AM)

Wow, this is great news! Really looking forward to playing this again with the new UI/resolutions.

lecrop -> RE: An upgrade (6/5/2014 8:42:20 AM)

Great news!

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (6/12/2014 5:38:35 AM)

The new version is now running. I'm just playing it in order to test the changes before making it available for download. Also I still have to make sure I didn't break PBEM somehow.

I'm well aware that I'm going to miss testing something so no doubt there will be an upload, bugs will be found, hopefully not too many and a new version will follow a week or so later.

AP514 -> RE: An upgrade (6/13/2014 1:34:29 AM)

GREAT...I really loved the game...look forward to playing the update and NEXT VERSION....elbe....

TSkoopCRP -> RE: An upgrade (6/16/2014 2:45:45 AM)

Will there be continued support(import / export function) for miniatures or a third party tactical game to resolve battles ? I know many histwar players used your game as a campaign engine.

stormbringer3 -> RE: An upgrade (6/16/2014 8:58:20 PM)

Will this be released through Matrix?
Thanks.

Agathosdaimon -> RE: An upgrade (6/17/2014 11:01:35 AM)

thats a good question - Matrix hasnt really been making any indication its in their line up, although the game sounds more closer to release than some in their coming soon section. If Matrix knows whats good they will release it! :-)

newmanovci -> RE: An upgrade (6/17/2014 5:54:07 PM)

Fantastic news!

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (6/18/2014 3:29:42 AM)

The game will still allow miniatures resolution. I'll be making sure that's working.

As I suspected, I did break PBEM but its working now, at least the non-Fog version is. Hopefully it'll be ready in a couple of more days if the Full Fog feature doesn't need more work.

I haven't actually told Matrix I'm doing it.

Agathosdaimon -> RE: An upgrade (6/18/2014 11:02:03 AM)

oh, what? in a few days Campaigns on the Elbe will be done? or just the update for CotD? - i am sure Matrix would be happy to release this wouldnt they?

lecrop -> RE: An upgrade (6/18/2014 2:00:03 PM)

I think what is coming soon is the update...

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (6/18/2014 3:21:05 PM)

Yes, its the Danube update that is coming soon.

Agathosdaimon -> RE: An upgrade (6/20/2014 3:32:58 AM)

Well i also look forward to that!

*Lava* -> RE: An upgrade (6/21/2014 12:33:19 PM)

Damn, Frank!

You've been MIA for quite awhile.

Hope everything is well.

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (6/24/2014 7:23:25 AM)

Hello Lava, I've been pretty busy, it hasn't seemed MIA at all :)

How are you doing?

*Lava* -> RE: An upgrade (6/25/2014 11:28:19 AM)

Doing Fine.

Good luck on you new projects.

Agathosdaimon -> RE: An upgrade (7/5/2014 1:42:42 PM)

hI! Is this still soon to happen?

FrankHunter -> RE: An upgrade (7/6/2014 3:51:41 AM)

Absolutely, I'm waiting for some new button graphics from Gary and am currently playing with full fog in pbem to test that.

tombo -> RE: An upgrade (7/10/2014 3:02:10 PM)

...any update here?
will game run on Windows 8, etc.?

thx

Citizen Emperor -> RE: An upgrade (7/13/2014 7:34:26 AM)

Having just finished reading John H. Gill's incredibly detailed, three-volume, 1,000+ page study of the Fifth Coalition war (1809: Thunder on the Danube), I am very interested in checking out this game... especially if folks believe it's worthy of updating 10 years after initial release.
