This is a Shadows era game; I'm not using the ancient galaxy theme. While I don't consider it likely, it is possible I did foul something up in the editor. Of course being as they don't show as techs and I don't know how they are flagged (same for super weapons) I have no way to see them. If no-one else is having this problem then hopefully it is just because I started this game in 1 patch version and then updated the game to another (which has always caused severe issues). I understand about the research and espionage, but how many friggin missions does it take? I'm fine if it takes a lot, as long as it actually can be done. I think I've been running successful missions once per month for 2 years. I am wondering if it would make sense to add them to the regular tech-tree, like they are in the ancient theme. Better would be if they could be made unresearchable by anyone, so you would have to get them from ruins or deconstruction the normal way, but they would have visibility. I haven't poked into the new modding aspects of Universe yet, but I bet it's doable.
