Platoon_Michael -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (7/21/2014 3:00:16 AM)

Thanks fellas,I appreciate the support.

Lets recap whats broken in GWTC from the original topic of this thread.

1)The Display Team list never stays on screen. One constantly has to press F5 to bring it up.
The leaves the player not knowing how many teams he has left to fight with, who's moral is low, who's under fire etc.etc. until he presses F5 Again!

2)The Tool Panel is broken in that it does not highlight the Team when using the messages within the Tool Panel. It will only jump you to the area.It also does not highlight the team on the zoomed out view.
2.5)It is also broken in that it does not bring up the Soldier Monitor after clicking on your teams messages, thus not displaying who/what is in that team who is dead, who is wounded, what weapon they have/had.
2.75)The Tool Panel will only work jump to said area if its located in the lower right hand corner of your screen. It will not work if placed anywhere else.

3)The Soldier screen from within the Battle Group screen is broken in that the game will not remember what team you last viewed.
So if you were in a H2H GC with your friend, and was trying to figure out which teams to keep or let go the game will not remember the Rifle team you just viewed on the soldier screen when you go back to the Battle Group screen to remove them. You will have to go back and forth until you found said team by looking at every single Rifle team comparing their stats.

These are HUGE gameplay issues.
Basically you can honestly say that ALL Intel that CC used to provide and has been a staple in every CC game has been literally Broken

There is no way shape or form that anybody can deny that these things are not indeed broken

STIENER -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (7/21/2014 5:47:05 AM)

i agree platoon michael.... these are real issues that were in other CC games till now and now there not. these are DEFINATLEY gameplay issues and should be addressed in the 1st patch.

IainMcNeil -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (7/21/2014 12:06:02 PM)

Thanks for the info guys. I have passed it on and the team are going to look at it. I was under the impression you were requesting new features not asking for a bug fix.

Steve is going to check this out and get back to you.

Platoon_Michael -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (7/21/2014 9:00:01 PM)

Thank-You very much Iain.

In all honesty I really do enjoy the game.
With these fixes and the Multiplayer issues you guys are addressing the game will be perfect.

Well including some personal touches from of my own I will hopefully get to some day. [:D]

SteveMcClaire -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (7/21/2014 9:35:05 PM)

It appears there are three minor bugs here that can be addressed in a future update. They will not be in the upcoming (multiplayer) patch because that is already in production and slated to go out ASAP.

Yes, this is a bug. As you have found, you can work around it by hitting the F5 key once.

2.5)It is also broken in that it does not bring up the Soldier Monitor after clicking on your teams messages, thus not displaying who/what is in that team who is dead, who is wounded, what weapon they have/had.

All these issues are the same issue -- when you click in the message monitor the team that issued the message is not selected, as it was in LSA and previous versions.

2.75)The Tool Panel will only work jump to said area if its located in the lower right hand corner of your screen. It will not work if placed anywhere else.

This is a bug. Unfortunately the only way to work around it at present is to keep/move the tool panel in the bottom right corner.

I'm not sure I understand the problem you're trying to describe here. Are you saying that if you change the selected team on the soldier screen, this hit 'Previous' to go back to the Battlegroup screen, you'd like to have the selection switched on he BG screen as well? I haven't tested every version but this was not the case in Panthers in the Fog or Last Stand Arnhem. I can see how it could be useful though and will record it for future reference.

Thanks for your time recording these in a precise way. I appreciate the report.

Steve

On the first quote WAR,TLD and LSA do this.

On the second quote only LSA and now GWTC wont remember what team you last clicked on when viewing the soldier screen.
I haven't checked PiFT
CCIV and CCV do remember this.as does WAR and TLD

Budge4 -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (7/24/2014 2:11:47 PM)

Platoon_Michael -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (8/14/2014 2:16:12 PM)

Hello,
I'm just wondering how things might be progressing with fixing the broken items mentioned here?
You guys got any type of ETA on this?

With Tik's small Maps Mod and hopefully a soon release of Dima's Historical Accuracy Mod this game will be Awesome.

Thanks

SteveMcClaire -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (8/14/2014 4:43:27 PM)

At this time, I do not have a date for when the next update will be released.

Steve

Tejszd -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (9/25/2014 12:28:13 AM)

Bump: any ETA?

SteveMcClaire -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (9/25/2014 5:25:57 PM)

There's been no announcement about patch timing in the last month, no.

Steve

Platoon_Michael -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (10/20/2014 4:18:42 PM)

Hello,
I've been pretty excited to see you guys looking into the Multiplayer issues.
I'm really hoping you guys might be able to add these fixes with the same patch.

sesto -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (11/27/2014 2:52:49 PM)

I can relate to all four bugs there. If I remember it right you also can't see the name of the team you're viewing in the soldier screen, and the arrows that were used to brows through all teams are not there either. On the plus side you can see all ten potential soldiers in the team, something I miss in the cc5 layout.

Also, I know this isn't a bug (at least it was talked about as a feature but I'm not sure anymore) but why isn't there an option to zoom out the perspective? There is only the total map and the small, slow moving screen now, in cc5 it was a much bigger field of view, which moved fast enough for me to get a full perspective of the map without zooming out during a battle. Would it be possible to include the option to zoom out the view field to a level similar to that of cc5?

Platoon_Michael -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (11/27/2014 10:44:07 PM)

The issues I pointed out have been mainstays within every CC game.

It's the Intel you want to play the game.

Based on the amount of time that has passed since the release of the game and my original post I have no faith in matrix to either being able to fix them or accept the fact that they need fixing.

I have the feeling they are going with the theory that enough time will pass and this will be forgotten by the fans and they wont have to fix it.

Tejszd -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (11/28/2014 4:37:14 AM)

Still checking the forums for most of the Matrix CC games looking for patches.... [&:]

You would hope with the new 3D CC coming soon they would want to address these outstanding issues to reassure possible customers of it that its issues will be addressed....

PipFromSlitherine -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (11/28/2014 3:23:27 PM)

Look to the post regarding getting people to grab the new MP debug EXE and play. That is what will help us most with solving the MP issues (which we cannot repeat). This is the gating item on any new patches.

Cheers

Pip

Platoon_Michael -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (12/23/2014 12:07:06 AM)

6 months and counting

WoW!

If you read PipFromSlitherine's post here he states that he's finally interested in the Bugs that cause the game to crash since CCV but yet he's unable to provide you with a link to said thread for the update.

If you read the Forums on the Steam web site he tires to defend the differences in the CC games Matrix makes but yet cant really answer anything because "HE DOESN'T PLAY THE GAMES"

least we forget that EVERY MEMBER at STEAM wants the game cheaper but yet Matrix didnt put it on sale for the Christmas Holiday.

Way to go Team!
Way to build a community.
Way to build a fan base.

Way to go!

But OH Golly GEE I just cant wait for the New Engine for CC.
Which by the way looks just lke Gateway to Caen.

Things are gonna be different then!
We wont have to worry about the OLD CC Code anymore.

We don't have to worry that the OLD/USED/INEXPERIENCED/PART TIME people still making the game creating mistakes with the NEW Engine!
You know.....The ones who created the current CC games your playing.

OH BOY!,There's just LOTS! of confidence brewing within me.

Face it!
You guys are the equivalent of a Bald,Lying, Bad Breath ,Push the sell,Polyester ....... Used Car Salesman.

The one EVERYONE can picture.

Tejszd -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (12/23/2014 1:25:31 AM)

All I want for Christmas is the Matrix CC bugs fixed....

Renato -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (12/25/2014 12:14:25 PM)

I too would like that!

SteveMcClaire -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (12/29/2014 6:05:26 PM)

We've had some good results from testers and multi-player fixes are in the works. There will be some time testing the fixes, but they should be available as a beta update relatively soon.

Steve

Renato -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (12/30/2014 5:21:17 AM)

Fine!

Tejszd -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (12/30/2014 7:53:37 AM)

Will the soon to be released beta patch be just the multi player fixes that on July 21/2014 were in production and about to go out???

Was wondering on the status of GUI issues mentioned earlier in the thread???

Also what is the status of the crash bugs mentioned; air strikes, timer reaching zero and accepting a truce bug earlier in this thread that affect this game and previous Matrix CC releases???

Platoon_Michael -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (12/31/2014 9:55:33 PM)

Please do NOT Ignore the GUI fixes mentioned earlier in this thread.

They are a Staple in CC.<---Period!

These are new bug fixes for issues confirmed during recent testing. The client-side airstrike crash is one of them. A full fix list will be included with the patch. I believe some of the UI issues are in this as well, but I will have to go back to confirm.

Steve

PztCrackwise -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (1/4/2015 2:26:09 PM)

This patch will be a very important thing to restore people's trust in Matrix Games. I hope you guys have nailed the most crucial bugs (crash inducing ones) as well as fixing the major ease-of-use type of UI bugs mentioned before.

Thanks for the patch. When can we expect to see it published?

Tejszd -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (1/4/2015 6:42:34 PM)

Sounds promising Steve!

Finding the client-side airstrike crash is big! Hopefully shortly after the GtC patch the previous releases will get this crash fix too....

Any leads on other crashes (ex. timer, truce)?

STIENER -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (1/5/2015 2:54:20 AM)

i agree with pztcrackwise....also will this fixes be transfered / forwarded to PITF and LSA etc ?

RD_Knights_X -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (1/7/2015 2:07:18 AM)

I have to admit that I have not been following this particular thread very closely to know whether the issue I'm about to describe has been brought to your attention yet. So, if this is a repeat, then apologies in advance.

In earlier versions of close combat (up to, but I'm not sure that this includes PitF) it was possible to rename squads and crew served weapons, tanks, and vehicles in order to identify them on the battle map. This does not appear to be possible in GtC. Was this by design, or is it a bug? OOPS...I JUST TRIED THE RENAMING OF A TANK, AND IT WORKED!! SO, I'M APPARENTLY WRONG...THUS NEVER MIND!!

One other annoyance is the the relative effectiveness of the Allied AT guns versus Tiger II tanks. I have had two tigers knocked out by (6 pounder....really!!??!!) AT guns at approximately 100m ranges. I find this extremely unrealistic for the historic time frame. Yes, the ammo for the 6-pounder was upgraded significantly in the later periods of WW II, but I doubt it should apply to mid-1944.

PztCrackwise -> RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch (1/7/2015 9:33:00 AM)

@RD_Knights_X: About 6 pdrs being able to knock out Tigers, these 6 pdrs have a limited amount of sabot rounds, which are supposedly capable of penetrating almost any armor. The only drawback they have is that they are less accurate, which I am not sure how well it is represented in the game.

Advancing with infantry, trying not to expose the flanks of your tanks etc. should help generally when trying to overcome AT positions. Once the ATGs are detected, they are as good as dead anyway.

This issue /may/ apply to Panthers in the Fog as well, but I don't think it applies to any earlier versions. A Panthers update is still planned, though as I've said before I don't know the exact timing. One other potential crash was uncovered and fixed during the first round of testing, but it is pretty obscure and I doubt it's something most people have seen (possible crash when troops surrender and then are recovered by the original side in multi-player.)

We are continuing to test the current build.

I will have to go back through the old code trees to see if this applies to any release older than Panthers, but I doubt it.

TIMING: This depends on if any major issues are uncovered in testing, and when the update can go through all the logistics necessary for a release via the update system, Steam, etc. I wouldn't expect it for a couple of weeks, but we may be able to do a beta update (for Matrix Club member) earlier. I will look into that.

Steve
